There is a large grassy area filled with toy houses that the kids can go inside. There are also some swings and a pretty toddler safe jungle gym. There are a few things about the jungle gym that aren't great for the under 3 crowd, namely a set of climbing rungs built for taller kids and there are 1 or 2 spots on the second level that don't have a railing so if your child doesn't understand how gravity works yet they are liable to step off the edge and fall 4-5 feet to the sandy ground. There is also a cement area with 2 toy basketball hoops that I've witnessed many a stumbling toddler fall on. I appreciate all the benches for parents and misc. caregivers to sit and chat (a big plus if you're there for 1-2 hours a day and don't feel the need to hover obsessively over your child). Best part is that it's gated and that almost every area of the park is clearly visible from every bench (again, great if your an aware, but not obsessive parent). The only major con is the cleanliness of the park, specifically the amount of trash on the ground. There are a few garbage cans but I regularly see people just leaving napkins and wrappers on the benches or ground. It would be great to see people throwing out their trash or seeing the city clean up once in a while. Another lesser con is that nobody bothers to throw away any broken toys, there have been a few times that I've had to deal with a baby crying because I wouldn't let him impale himself on a jagged, broken shovel piece. So that's less than ideal.

Before the water park located there now, Cabral Park was also home to the Fox Point Pool. It was demolished in the early 1990s and, in its place, the city built the first water spray park in Providence. Many people use this park to get close to the river and we have enjoyed strolling around here multiple times...

The swings are a great addition, and I use the bike path and walking paths there frequently. As the weather gets better, I'm looking forward to spending more time there. It connects Wickenden to the water in such a pleasant way. I also swear the plants & trees cut down the traffic noise from the evil Washington Bridge - which is much appreciated. Whoever was on the civil engineering team for designing this park deserves major props. Big fan.

There are several little toys, toy kitchens, little cars, a baby swing and a big kid swing, and three slides. There are no restrooms nearby, but there is a garbage can, as well as benches and chairs for adults. I like that this playground has only one entrance, and everyone that comes has very young children. You will be able to see your child at all times because this park is so small - but that's part of the reason that i like it. There is nothing paved, and there aren't any bikes to ride, but it is shaded by a bug tree in the center of the park and there is also a picnic table. This is one of my favorite toddler parks in providence!

The park holds a lot of sentimental value for the city because it houses the Roger Williams statue and tomb. Personally, I appreciate how well maintained the park is and how peaceful it is. On warmer days, it can get a little busy, but it's a great place to relax. When I'm need of a little reprieve I like to bring my blanket and meditate on the grass. I also appreciate its location being so close to Brown and downtown Providence simultaneously. It's convenient and peaceful.

A beautiful and historic park with views of downtown Providence. It is located right on a hill and has the statue and tomb of Roger Williams with his hand out. There were benches and a small path throughout. A great place to picnic, watch the sunset, and just relax. The Rhode Island State House and Providence Place Mall can be seen from there. There is no parking lot just street parking. The houses nearby are historic. This was a frequent stop for author HP Lovecraft. No wonder it is called "The Jewel of the City".

The park was named for George Corliss who invented the Corliss steam invention in the 1850s. A steam engine factory once stood a few blocks away where Home Depot currently resides. In addition to the 0.3 mile walking path, Corliss Park contains a playground, ball fields, handball court, tennis courts, basketball courts, new outdoor fitness equipment, and a community garden. I have been here a few times walking on the easy wooded path, relaxing in the area. Very shady in the summer time. The RIPTA 50 bus stops one block away from the park near the corner of Douglas Avenue and Corina Street.

The statue of Ambrose Burnside on a horse is a grand one and can't be missed; the park was named after this Civil War general and governor of Rhode Island. Fun fact: he was the first person to rock a side burn, hence the name Burnside. Both the fountain and statue were added to the park in the late 1800s and early 1900s. There were bus stops all around the park. Many people were enjoying it and walking through. Cons: I did notice that there were trash all over; some of the people using the park just trashes it. I am not sure why this was the case because I saw trash bins throughout the city. Otherwise, the park would be very beautiful, historic, and in the middle of a bustling city.

There was good amount of shade when we were there, and plenty of benches for parents to sit while keeping an eye on the kids. The playground itself is clean, well-kept, and has equipment for both toddlers and older kids. On top of that, there's a basketball court right next to it, which is great for kids/parents who want to shoot some hoops. Parking is easy, and the area feels really family-friendly.
