Cabral Park is one of those Providence places that I have a bit of a soft spot for. I used to bring…read moremy nephews here when they were younger, and some of my memories of the park come from those days. It was always an easy place to bring kids when you wanted them to run around, burn off some energy, and spend a little time outside without having to make a whole production out of it. The park has definitely seen better days, though. There is a lot to like about the location and what the park can offer, but parts of it have looked worn and in need of some attention for quite a while. That's why I'm encouraged by the improvements and renovation work that have started to take shape. Providence has been putting more attention into improving its neighborhood parks, and Cabral Park is a place where that investment makes sense. What I like about neighborhood parks like this is that they don't need to be some elaborate destination. They serve the people who live nearby. Kids need somewhere to play, families need somewhere to get outside, and neighborhoods benefit enormously from having accessible green space. Cabral Park has that basic value, even when the facilities themselves could use some TLC. I have to admit that seeing improvements happening here gives me a little bit of nostalgia. I remember bringing my nephews here and watching them run around, and now I'm seeing the park enter another chapter. That's the nice thing about public spaces. They change, they get worn down, they get renovated, and eventually a new generation of kids comes along and makes their own memories there. I'm giving Cabral Park four stars because I think it has plenty of potential, but it still needs some investment and continued maintenance to really reach it. I'm hopeful that the current renovation work is the beginning of a larger transformation rather than a one-and-done effort. If Providence follows through, this could become an even better neighborhood park for the families who use it. For me, though, the place already has some history. I spent time here with my nephews years ago, and I'm glad to see the city giving the park some attention. I'll be interested to come back and see what it looks like once the work is finished.

I love India Point Park & I love that they've been doing more work to make it nicer and more…read moreinviting. The swings are a great addition, and I use the bike path and walking paths there frequently. As the weather gets better, I'm looking forward to spending more time there. It's always nice to grab a coffee from somewhere on Wickenden and set up in the park for a bit to enjoy the water and the people.

There are several little toys, toy kitchens, little cars, a baby swing and a big kid swing, and three slides. There are no restrooms nearby, but there is a garbage can, as well as benches and chairs for adults. I like that this playground has only one entrance, and everyone that comes has very young children. You will be able to see your child at all times because this park is so small - but that's part of the reason that i like it. There is nothing paved, and there aren't any bikes to ride, but it is shaded by a bug tree in the center of the park and there is also a picnic table. This is one of my favorite toddler parks in providence!

A beautiful and historic park with views of downtown Providence. It is located right on a hill and has the statue and tomb of Roger Williams with his hand out. There were benches and a small path throughout. A great place to picnic, watch the sunset, and just relax. The Rhode Island State House and Providence Place Mall can be seen from there. There is no parking lot just street parking. The houses nearby are historic. This was a frequent stop for author HP Lovecraft. No wonder it is called "The Jewel of the City".

The park holds a lot of sentimental value for the city because it houses the Roger Williams statue and tomb. Personally, I appreciate how well maintained the park is and how peaceful it is. On warmer days, it can get a little busy, but it's a great place to relax. When I'm need of a little reprieve I like to bring my blanket and meditate on the grass. I also appreciate its location being so close to Brown and downtown Providence simultaneously. It's convenient and peaceful.

Corliss Park is situated in the Wanskuck neighborhood of Providence, in the city's north side, near…read morethe campuses of both Providence College and RI School for the Deaf. The park was named for George Corliss who invented the Corliss steam invention in the 1850s. A steam engine factory once stood a few blocks away where Home Depot currently resides. In addition to the 0.3 mile walking path, Corliss Park contains a playground, ball fields, handball court, tennis courts, basketball courts, new outdoor fitness equipment, and a community garden. I have been here a few times walking on the easy wooded path, relaxing in the area. Very shady in the summer time. The RIPTA 50 bus stops one block away from the park near the corner of Douglas Avenue and Corina Street.

We didn't get to spend much time in Providence Rhode Island but this is one thing I am glad that we checked out and had my kids play on it was a lot of fun

Situated between lovely old residential homes and the grounds of Hope High School, this space has much to offer. The typical jungle gym activities, sandbox, and traverse-the-netting areas are all done very nicely. Add to that a legitimate climbing and gymnastics ring area, and you have something a cut above. Add to THAT a lovely community garden area, and you begin to get the picture of Brown Street Park. This spot transcends "so nice I want to keep it to myself" status into "this Providence jewel is so good, the word needs to be spread." Please enjoy!

Great little Urban Park behind Hope High School. It has a cozy and intimate feel. It does not have a lot of shade, but it has a lot of fun things for kids and grown ups to keep busy. I make it part of my routine walk along the East Side since it is well maintained, clean and safe. The statue of Ambrose Burnside on a horse is a grand one and can't be missed; the park was named after this Civil War general and governor of Rhode Island. Fun fact: he was the first person to rock a side burn, hence the name Burnside. Both the fountain and statue were added to the park in the late 1800s and early 1900s. There were bus stops all around the park. Many people were enjoying it and walking through. Cons: I did notice that there were trash all over; some of the people using the park just trashes it. I am not sure why this was the case because I saw trash bins throughout the city. Otherwise, the park would be very beautiful, historic, and in the middle of a bustling city.

The park reeked of marijuana & there were liquor bottles, cigarette butts & garbage all over the ground.
