One of Portland's home decor/gift stores, you'll find a lot of unique crafted concoctions such as their hand-made pillows, socks, baby unis, gift mugs, books, and other interesting collectibles. We bought a couple stickers here to commerorate our time visiting Portland. My girlfriend also bought a children's forest book for her nephew who enjoyed it. He mentioned he wants to visit Portland with us next time and I concur. Worth a visit due to the unique items, cleanliness, and welcoming vibes. Keeping Portland weird, yet interesting!

While I didn't purchase anything form the store, it is cute and if you are looking for local unique (both fun and practical) items as gift for someone while visiting Portland or a gift to bring back home to someone or to ship something from home, this is a great little store. They have a number of Pacific North West, Oregon and National Park themed items available. They had pillows, games, books, candles, glasses and a variety of adult and PNW branded children / babies clothes as well. What I found most appealing was the local card and unique wrapping paper section, which I will definitely come back, browse and purchase from myself. Oh - I am also a fan of stickers and they had the best selection I've seen here in Portland to date! After I did a bit more research on the store when I got home, I discovered that the store was named after the owners two (2) rescue dogs ~ "they represent to use that essence of comfortable den home, not too fussy and full of life!" I am a huge rescue dog fan and this made me smile and have even a great affinity for making recommendations to friends, near or far, to check them out. The website describes the store as "the ideal shop should offer unique nad well-designed products at affordable prices - in an inviting, approachable, relaxed atmosphere.."

Each layer has 9 thickness options (soft to firm), that can be split on each side of the bed for each sleeper's preference. The sturdy organic cotton casing has organic wool batting quilted inside. Why buy an organic mattress? Think of it like this. Organic vegetables are healthier because they don't have chemical pesticide residues. Likewise, organic mattresses do not have all the chemicals that run-of-the-mill mattresses are made of, like toxic flame retardants and phthalates. These chemicals out-gas. So why breathe any toxins that may effect your health? Why sleep on a bed of toxic chemicals? I digress! Now to Dennis and Plank and Coil. My wife and I made probably 3 trips in to the store to test drive a store full of organic mattresses. Naturepedic, Organipedic, Savvy rest, Palm Spring, Vispring are some varieties to try. How to test drive a mattress? Lay on several and compare. Dennis is the Driver's Ed mattress instructor with knowledge and patience to help you compare the choices. It is important to lay about 15 minutes on any mattress that your are considering to see how your spine, hips, limbs, neck and booty feel and fit the mattress. Is there sink or sag? Do you float cloud like or roll around like a jelly fish? Any limbs go numb? And relaxing those 15 minutes on the mattress, perhaps, you doze off or snooze a bit. That clinched the deal for me! Plank and Coil - is the way to sleep nirvana on an organic mattress! Also, the delivery team are mattress experts. They help with the set-up and positioning of the new mattress, pads, toppers, core and all accessories and ensure your bed frame has the right support for the mattress. In our case they recommended additional wood slats between the welded steel slats on our Room & Board frame. So there you have it! We spend about 1/3 of the time in the bed. Why not get the best and healthiest rest? I believe that is an organic mattress. We love how we sleep now! My mind is resting knowing "NO TOXINS IN BED WTIH ME!" Plank & Coil selections and expertise, no sales pressure, made the choice for us easy-peazy! All mattresses have warranties and return policies to check out! I recommend check out Plank & Coil!

There are elegant linens in all shades of neutral (white, cream, gray) with pillows and throws in pops of color or texture neutrals. The guest towels are just charming! Lots of small home decor items that are carefully selected, simple, yet one of a kind. Trays for your trinkets in a textured sand pattern or subtle animal print. Tissue box covers that transform that cardboard box into part of your decor. Wonderful scented candles. My favorite area is the jewelry. I can't stop by the Manor without checking out the treasures, many from local artists, and definitely pieces that are not mainstream. Service is exceptional; if you are the type that want hands on assistance as you select items to refresh your bathroom or replace your bedding, they happily oblige. Or if you are like me and want to wander on your own and take it all in, preferring to seek assistance only if needed, they let you be. Definitely on the expensive side, but the quality is equally high. They always have an area with sale items, especially after Christmas, so make sure to check it out for fantastic deals.

I purchased a dining table in early December and after check out, realized I was charged tax on the shipping cost for this large item which was near nearly $500 on its own. I have been asking via email if it is typical to apply this practice since it has never happened on any other purchase, and shipping is not a tangible good. I have sent multiple follow up emails to their support team and have received no response. Today I come here to write this review and realized from other folks that had I purchased this item from Instagram I would not have been charged the shipping at all and I'm now even angrier that this appears to be what I would consider unprofessional and deceptive practices. A much bigger concern than the non-response of emails. I attempted to buy the table on IG and sure enough no shipping charge. Because the item that I purchased was considered nonrefundable, I now think I'm going to have to dispute the entire charge with my credit card company and reject the delivery unless they are willing to refund my shipping cost which considering the lack of emails, is highly unlikely. I'm greatly disappointed and have found that their business practices have become questionable since they were acquired by Food 52. What used to be a locally owned and operated business with principles and ethics that reflected that kind of organization have now gone off the rails, and I just can't see continuing to support them any longer if this is not made right.

I will say the store layout was a bit interesting, with some areas that felt more cramped. It was fairly crowded when we went, so I did have to squeeze by people to make my way through the store. I spent some time browsing the clothing section and found several items that caught my eye. The clearance section was a bit disorganized and the sizes were not labeled clearly unfortunately. Customer service at Muji was friendly and adequate. The staff working in the fitting room area were especially helpful. It would've been great to have more fitting rooms available, as the line moved slowly and took up a good chunk of time. You are also limited to bringing in 5 items at a time but you can swap out items as needed. I ended up purchasing multiple tops and a few pants for everyday wear. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to browse the homewares section but was pretty satisfied with my clothing purchases and shopping experience. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
