I've used A+ Always Moving every time I have had a moving job personally and professionally. They've moved me from apartment to condo to house over the decade and even moved my companies offices. When a didn't realize the early closing time of a storage facility they jumped to accommodate my belongings overnight. I always recommend them. I talked to Heather over the phone, she said they had all these carpet & hardwood protectors, door protectors, baseboard protectors, how they wrapped & protected your stuff & how professional they were etc. I go through with her each piece of furniture that is being moved. She gives me you need 2 guys will take about 5 hours, shouldn't be in traffic even more than 1/2 hour to get there no problem. I've told her & described every piece of furniture + how a large TV needs to come down from a wall, a bed needs to be disassembled. No problem we have all the tools. Supposed to be here from 10-10:30 am depending on traffic. I get a phone call at 10:20 saying they are lost. 2 guys show up, I show them the stuff they are to move. They look at the mattress & say that he doesn't think the guy he has with him can lift the stuff & they need their buddy & need to go pick him up. Is this a joke? The 2nd guy is pretty wiry, but he can't lift a queen mattress? Nope he can't do it with the guy he has with him he needs to go get the other guy but they won't charge me for the go pick him up time. Lie #1. Final bill start of service 9:15 am, remember I got a call at 10:20 am asking where my house was, Heather swears they were at my house working at 10:15, they didn't show up with the 3rd guy at my house till 11:15 am. They put up 2 door frame padding, one in the garage door one in the front door nothing anywhere else. NOTHING. The little one smashed in every wall & door & could not lift anything. The other two actually could move things & moved everything without smashing into things. They were definitely not professionals nor have any clue what they where doing. They took my solid cherry table (really heavy) & moved it without removing 2 screws in each leg & then put all its weight on the legs & what do you know, it snapped the legs right off cause it's flipping SOLID WOOD & heavy. They were so in shock they came blubbering to me that it never happened before & didn't know what to do. I took pictures & told them to call their boss. I watched one of them screw around not sure what he was doing goofing off on the dollies with wheels & he flew off the truck and landed on his back off the truck in the dirt. I watched them go let's take all the securing locks off the A tower of the weights & rearrange the weights and see if we can lift them. Then promptly drop them all on the floor. They made comments on the last customer they had about how all her stuff was precious & how she was so after them to be cautious & not break anything. They made comments of let's see how much we can put on the lift to see how much it can lift before it breaks.... I felt like I went to a college & hired some guys off campus, they were sweet but very unprofessional and not knowledgeable nor efficient. They couldn't get the TV down off the wall with all the mounting. The got the TV down but not the mounting because they didn't have a socket wrench. I watched them try with pliers to undo a nut & slip smash into the wall & repeat. I'm said it's ok if you don't have the right tool we'll come back & do it later ourselves before you strip the nut or damage the wall. I watched them bring downstairs the dresser, I had to rush up & grab a painting off the wall they decided to turn up against & where about to destroy. Same piece of furniture they then asked me to throw a rug or something under cause they had to drop it & where going to scratch up the wood floor underneath. You have to follow them around & grab things, move things they didn't notice, or even think fast and grab a towel rug something to throw under your furniture because they are loosing the grip & need to place it down but guess what no freaking padding is down like promised. You do have to give them advice of how to move things, that exploded my head, I couple times said aren't you the professional I'm paying for, shouldn't you know if you should pack this with the drawers in for structure or not? New home has brand new paint, brand new carpet, real hardwood floors ask for the protection stuff again was promised. Get 1 door cover & 1 runner & get blown off. The runner doesn't even cover one full hallway. They put scratches on my hardwood, smacks on the wall & proceeded to break a piece of the bed frame by over tightening a screw. To put in 8 screws for the bed it took them 45 minutes & cracked one of the support beams but still able to put together. They did other things but I am out of room, I told Heather and showed pictures. She fixed my table and ignored everything else. Never returned a call or message. They charged me $1146.60 to move not even 1/2 of a truck worth of things and caused a bit of damage. I'll post a couple of pictures just of the table and the wall of the new house. Don't hire them if you have real furniture and a real house. They are fine if you have cheap furniture and moving in apartments where you don't care. It's a scam and bait and switch. read more

I have used this company twice and both times they went above and beyond the call of duty and did good work for a great price. No breakages! No tardiness! No weirdness! I also appreciated that they were cool under pressure and when the going got tough they dug in and got the job done. One of the moves was on the hottest day of the year and I was DYING (and I wasn't even the one working so hard!). But they were like machines and didn't even complain about the heat. Have moved with them twice now. Definitely a great company to use! Have move from Oregon to Washington and they were great both times. No slow down on loading or unloading the truck. Fast to disassemble and reassemble beds and both the staff working the office and working the moving of the furniture were top rate. Both times they came in under the time and under the estimated amount quoted to me. They will always be the first place I call. read more

Original Post from June 2012: I have used A+ Student Movers, All My Sons Moving, and for my most recent move I used A+ Always moving due to their high ratings on Angie's list...but it was one of the worst moves I have experienced. The two gentleman who moved me were VERY nice...but they moved slow. We had less stuff this move than the previous two with All My Sons and A+ Student Movers...and they still exceeded the time of both companies by over 2 hours. I was quoted $650 for my move and the total was $800, I will say they did credit me 1 hour back so the grand total was $705. One of the many things that was very frustrating was the amount of time they took disassembling and reassembling my bed frame (and not all of the pieces ended up in my bed frame at my new apartment....). I originally asked them if they could slide the frame (VERY STURDY) in the back of the truck and put boxes around it...they insisted on disassembling it. 4 essential screws have been stripped and 1 major bolt is missing, thus my bed frame is tweaked and is something I will have to repair on my own. I was sick with a bad cold through the move...and have a major back injury, and I still helped move boxes and furniture (bookshelves) myself to speed up the process. Since they were so slow and were exceeding the quote substantially I had to call on friends to come help me the next day put furniture where it belonged because I didn't want to pay for A+ Always Moving movers to put the furniture in the correct locations. Although they were nice, the efficiency of the movers did not outweigh the personalities of those moving my belongings. Next time I will know in the end, the rates for All My Sons (or any other company) may seem more expensive on paper...but they will be worth every penny, and would actually save a few pennies, heartache, and frustration in the end. Update to Heathers comment 1/15/2013: I did not live in a highrise apartment (definitely no where with an elevator!) and had no complaints about a rug...and we never received any refund check! We did not live anywhere needing a parking permit, and after sending Heather a spread sheet of everything we had in advance she recommended 2 movers, not 3. Recently used this company to move only a few blocks from our current home. On site estimate was 7 hours of work. I ended up moving all the boxes, dining table, couch, and queen bed and frame to save some time. Movers still took 7 hours to move everything else. Movers said it would have taken them 10-12 hours if I didn't move. During the move movers did not bring proper equipment to move washer and drying. I was asked by the movers to put on gloves to help move the washer and dryer then help move some dressers and shelves. I ended up moving about 20% of the items. Contacted the company after the move and they responded with a "brush off email" They have not responded with anymore emails and are not willing to communicate with me. I would recommend this company only if you want to pay someone to watch you move your own stuff. read more

We used A+ Always moving for 3 moves in the past year. Heather, the owner, is smart, organised, professional, and friendly. All the moving crews were good guys and Kenny is a puzzle master. He saved us from renting an extra trailer because of his mastery of box and furniture configuring in trucks. I have a lot of respect this company and there staff. This company was full service from beginning to end. They were prompt, professional, empathetic and made the ordeal of moving cross-country so much easier than I thought it could be. Brant and Sonny were efficient but careful and Heather kept me updated throughout the process and although there was an unexpected hiccup they fixed it so that the delivery still arrived on time and in great condition. There was a delay with a subcontractor getting my things into DC proper but Mike stuck with me until it was resolved. Finally, David, the dispatcher in VA waited until the shipment was picked up late on a Friday night, using his own time to make sure I could get my things when I needed them. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs to move anything. They are the kind of people we all hope for when we look for movers but never think we will actually find. While the three movers were very friendly, it seemed one was always on a smoking break. They did not move very fast either packing or unloading. While unloading they did not communicate well and we are still weeks later sorting through all the wrong places they put things. We went with them due to good ratings on Angie's list, but I would not recommend. read more

I agreed with Mimi B.'s review. My move was last May and it was not the best move I've had because their truck was stolen. They had to rent a smaller truck which made our move much longer. There were quite a few things that also went wrong -- their driver was stopped by a cop which delayed their arrival. They also "fudged" on the time spent on our move. I finally moved the stored items that were packed by their movers. The purchased blankets were not clean and they dirt and black material rubbed off on my expensive suede sofa. I contacted the owner and she basically wrote back and disclaimed all responsibility since we didn't unpack to inspect our pieces prior to loading them up for moving to CA....(which is not practical for an interstate moving job). I wrote her back back and never heard back! Very disappointing in their business conduct! Buyer beware when you book with them -- they will talk a good game to get your business but if things happen to go wrong -- you are on YOUR OWN and the best of luck to get them to do the right thing! read more
