I had surgery with Dr. Miles approximately 18 months ago. I went and for postop to have my drains removed and she didn't even bother showing up for my appointment. I scheduled another appointment after 30 days and again she was not there, I was told she had a prior appointment she had forgotten about. After 18 months of attempting to have a follow up appointment, I finally gave up. I made an appointment with a plastic surgeon at the University of Washington. I had a consultation scheduled and had a hard time finding the office. I called before my appointment time but no one answered the phones. I was 12 mins late by the time I figured it out and the woman at the desk told me she would check I could still be seen. She came back and said Fridays were busy and I needed to reschedule my appointment. I told her I was leaving on a flight this evening and I came in town just for this appointment, she just looked past me and said they will not be able to see you. So I left.... Not being able to see me seemed excessive since the appointment was supposed to be 40 mins long. About 30 mins after I left I had a call from the scheduling assistant, Ebony who said that I could come back and wait. At first I said ok, then I thought about the rude way I had been treated and how many people were waiting in the wait area asking how much longer would they be waiting and I decided never mind. I came in town to meet with several doctors so that I could choose who I felt most confident and comfortable with. Cindy Wei will be doing my surgery. My good friend had already scheduled her surgery with Dr. Miles but canceled her appointment and will be going to Dr. Nadeau who is part of the same office as Dr.Wei, after she heard my story and reviewed how she has been treated, and not called back regarding the questions she had. My 45 minute consultation was okay I assumed. I didn't have anything to compare it to. She discussed my options and answered my questions. I was measured and they took pictures. Dr. Miles seem to be a kind and straightforward doctor. However, the staff was different. I would call and leave a message regarding concerns that I had. I would not receive a call back. In my mind I was feeling trepidation, but never shared my feelings with anyone. I prayed and asked God to show me if this is where I should go. This happened a few times. I followed up the first two times out of needing to know as soon as I could. This last time I did not call back because I wanted to see how long it would take for someone to call me back. It has been over a week now. Coincidentally, My friend flew in from out of town for a consult appointment with Dr. Miles today. She was about 12 minutes late. They refused to see her. Shortly after she left, the office called to tell her she could come back. That really bothered me on many levels. So, I canceled my surgery. I felt like that was confirmation that I needed. Guess what? The office called me back in less than an hour, to discuss why I canceled, but it was too late. My reason for writing this review is to tell folks that may not be too sure about which doctor to choose. Pay attention to the small things. Pay attention to how people treat you especially, when you are putting your life into their hands. read more

This is a long review, but I recommend reading if you are considering having a procedure done here. First off, I hate to write such a poor review since Dr. Miles herself is a very nice person, but I do not want anyone else to experience what I've experienced. I wish I had done more research before choosing to go here for such a major surgery. I had a breast reduction at age 16, so naturally, I continued to develop afterward. Last June, at age 27, I went to Dr. Miles for a revision and to even things out. Let me be clear- I never had unrealistic expectations. I've done this surgery before, I know that perfection is not in the realm of possibility. My main concerns were that my left breast was almost a full cup size larger than the right, and the nipple was sitting so high up on the breast that I could not wear a very large range of clothing. These were the main areas of improvement that we discussed. I initially went to Dr. Miles for a consultation in February of 2016. I decided I would go through with the surgery, and ended up scheduling it for early June so that I would be able to enjoy the end of the summer after a couple months of recovery. About two months after scheduling the surgery, I got a call from the receptionist saying that Dr. Miles would be on vacation, and could not perform my surgery that day. Looking back, I should have been alarmed. This is terrible protocol. To receive a call almost two months after scheduling is absurd. I have to assume the vacation was scheduled AFTER we already had this on the books, or it wouldn't have been scheduled for that day in the first place. Regardless, I decided to reschedule for two weeks later in June because I understand that life happens. By the time I went in for my pre-surgery appointment (one week prior to surgery), Dr. Miles seemed to have very little recollection of what we had discussed for my procedure. My mom was with me, and pulled me aside to voice her concerns. I pushed the nagging feeling away, and went through with the surgery the following week. All seemed to be fine, and I went in for my first post-op appointment one week later. At this stage, things are still very swollen/bruised, and sutures are still intact so as a patient, it is hard to gauge how well things are going in the recovery process. Dr. Miles assured me that everything was healing as planned, and that I shouldn't expect a good representation of final results until about three months post-op. We scheduled another follow-up for this timeframe (September). When my second post-op appointment came, I had a serious family emergency and had to cancel. It seems that my breasts have still been settling over the past few months, so I decided to wait on rescheduling until I felt things were in a more long-term realistic state. Over the past month or so, I have felt very unhappy with my results. The left nipple is still sitting extremely high up on my breast (perhaps even higher than it was to begin with), and I was unable to wear two swimsuits I just took with me on vacation because of it. This is EXACTLY what I was trying to resolve. The left breast is also still larger than the right. I called today to schedule the second post-op so that I could ask Dr. Miles if perhaps I just need to allow for more time. I ended up leaving a voicemail, and received a call back from someone in the office. I was told that because I was "private pay" (did I mention I paid for this procedure entirely out of pocket??), I am only allotted 6 months' time for follow-up appointments. Any appointments after this would cost me additional fees. I explained that I had to cancel the initial second post-op because of private matters, but this does not matter, I will need to pay an additional $135 for any of the doctor's time. I will be completely up front in saying that the receptionist said she told me this back in June, but I do not recall this. Regardless, I am a patient who is unhappy with my results, and I find this to be shamefully bad practice. The fact that I paid out-of-pocket should mean more, not less, and shouldn't the doctor want me to be happy with results I will have to live with for the rest of my life? At the end of the day, I don't even fault Dr. Miles. I understand that she cannot predict how everyone will heal. I am disheartened by the lack of care AFTER my surgery. To me, if a patient has not rescheduled their appointment within their tight window of six months, you should be following up with them to make sure they do so. I was understanding about the need to reschedule the surgery because of a vacation, so I expect the same consideration. I told the receptionist that I will be going elsewhere for an opinion regarding my concerns, and she could not have cared less. Final thoughts- this is a medical office that viewed me as a number on a whiteboard, rather than as a real person. I would not recommend going to Dr. Miles to anyone I know, especially if they are "private pay." read more

She botched my Breast reduction. My nipples are so high on my breasts. Scaring is bad. Too much tissue was removed from the center of my breasts. I also have a large area of tissue under my right arm. She was going through breast cancer treatment at the time of my surgery. I felt as if I didn't have a right to complain, considering what she was going through. Do yourself a favor, go to a highly recommended plastic surgeon. read more

As someone else mentioned, Dr. Miles seems like a very nice woman and I thought that her having personal experience with what I was going through with cancer meant something. In the end, nice isn't enough. Maybe she has improved, but given the small number of reviews, and the fact that my second surgeon recently mentioned still having to "fix" her work on others besides me, I just think others should know. I'm prompted to write now after all of these years, since her name came up high in a search of surgeons...yes, still wondering if after over 9 years and one previous attempt to fix her work, if more can be done. My results and experience were so traumatic, I never went back to see her after the initial healing. The immediate breast reconstruction after mastectomy was simply horribly done. If all you want is a blob on your chest wall, then maybe you'll be ok with her work. It was explicitly what I said I was concerned about ending up with, and when it happened, her response was that I should just "wait...it's just swelling". Well, it never improved. Since I was having a unilateral mastectomy, I let myself be convinced to let her do a "lift & fill" on my other breast for better symmetry- in less than 6 months, that also failed (the implant completely moved out of it's placement and had to eventually be replaced). On this side, she also made an unusually large incision, so the scar was significantly bigger than necessary and her rough stitching left ugly scarring. I had more work done with another surgeon about 18 months later, but much of the original scarring couldn't be fixed. All in all, it was simply a cosmetic failure of a job. Dr. Miles did my reconstruction after bilateral mastectomy. My case was particularly difficult as I had a lot of extra tissue on the sides that had to be removed, and the implants I chose were one third the size of my original breasts. She took the time to listen to what my wishes were, and lo and behold, she managed to deliver results that were in line with my expectations. All while having an exceptionally kind and sensitive bedside manner. I highly recommend her. read more

I had a breast augmentation without a lift or reduction in June 2017 by another surgeon. Within a few months my implants had bottomed out. I did a lot of research and wanted to work with a board certified surgeon. I met with Dr. Miles in early May to discuss options, whether it be remove the implants or to perform a lift etc. Dr. Miles provided me with a few options on during that initial appointment, we agreed upon a scar excision which would allow me to keep the implants and revise the scar from a breast reduction and lift in 2005 so that there would be better support for the 530cc Ultra High Profile implants I have and quite like when positioned properly. Dr. Miles and her team answered all my questions, made scheduling a piece of cake and made me so comfortable upon the day of surgery. I was so scared to undergo surgery because of the terrible implant experience I had with another surgeon. I am about 2 weeks post op and SO incredibly pleased with the work. Dr. Miles did exactly what I hoped for. She was able to revise the scar which lifted my implants back into place, and corrected the size of my right breast so that it was symmetrical to my left breast. Dr. Miles exceeded my expectations and has a patient for life. I was sad to read other reviews as I my results are beautiful, symmetrical and the incisions are as lovely as incisions can be. I am elated to see how my breast continue to take shape over the next few months. I had a breast reduction with Dr Miles in 2014. I am ok with the results, but was not satisfied with my care post-surgery. Dr Miles and her team gave inconsistent care. Sometimes they were attentive and careful. Sometimes they didn't wear gloves and left in many sutures so I needed to return to the office repeatedly.
