He made us wait for 45 minutes, he had overbooked his schedule. This isn't a airline....why are you so backed up??? The doctor was distracted and clearly tired. He threw drugs samples at us with no clear clarification, and when we requested more information he stated "Listen I stayed late to see you today".. how are you tell a patient something like that. You staying late is NOT our issue. My SO was in extreme pain and imagining was needed to see what could be done, after playing phone tag for two weeks, the doctor says to my SO "oh you need authorization, you didn't tell us your insurance needed auth", look its important that patients be aware of their insurance plans but as a trained medical professional these kind of things are supposed to be verified in advance. He wrote scripts for us , when we took it to the pharmacy, they didn't feel comfortable filling even after they spoke with HIM because of his inability to explain exactly why her was prescribing it. We had to go to another pharmacy and they had to call him again to confirm the medication . Meanwhile my loved one is WRITHING in pain. Needless to say we have stopped seeing this doctor, especially since we placed a request for a call back from the doctor 4 weeks ago...and still nothing... This doctor I'm sure in his prime , he was fantastic , he has lots of OLD pictures with dignitaries in his office...which doesn't matter to me if you don't treat your regular day to day with respect!!!! We have found a awesome MD affiliated with VHC in arlington VA. AVOID THIS DOCTOR AT ALL COST!

When I entered - I was greeted half heartedly and when I couldn't remember who I was seeing (new patient) - no one was willing to help me. There were 4 people at the front desk. 2. I have now called the office 6-7 times over a 2 1/2 week period to get my blood results. No one has picked up or responded to my (very clear) voicemails. I was told it would be a week to get - I have now waited a month - and even checked my spam, etc. 3. The office, in general, was not great - which when you have a good doctor - doesn't matter to me. However, with everything else - it now just adds another layer of disappointment.

It costs $199/year, but is worth every cent (and then some). It's kind of like a medical "start-up" done right. Online scheduling, really long appointments, nice offices. Check 'em out.

I would strongly advise against going to AllCare at Navy Yard, Washington DC. My experience with…read moretheir office has been nothing short of frustrating, unprofessional, and outright negligent. I had been trying for weeks to get a prescription for my blood pressure medication, which is crucial for my health. After completing my bloodwork, I reached out multiple times, only to be ignored. With only one day of medication left, I had no choice but to walk into their clinic. Instead of receiving help, I was met with an incredibly hostile and dismissive receptionist who acted as though my urgent medical need was an inconvenience. Despite my repeated attempts to explain the seriousness of the situation, she rudely brushed me off and tried to send me away. I insisted on staying until someone addressed the issue. After a long wait, I was finally told my prescription was being taken care of--only to later receive a text message saying they ordered the wrong bloodwork and that I had to go through the process all over again. They finally admitted that the mistake was theirs, yet fail to see or care how this oversight is a major inconvenience and risk to my health. When I expressed frustration over their incompetence, the receptionist had the nerve to tell me I was upset because I wasn't "getting my way." Excuse me? This is not about getting my way--it's about managing a serious medical condition! Their lack of care, dismissive attitude, and unwillingness to take responsibility for their errors are unacceptable. I am now searching for a new primary care doctor because I refuse to trust my health to a place that operates with such disregard for its patients. If you value your well-being, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. This experience was so unprofessional that I am going to be filing a formal complaint with AllCare and my insurance company.

I've changed doctors with Medstar 4-5 times in the last 2 years mainly because people leave the practice or more to different offices. I remember when I was younger, an annual physical was much more than just asking you questions and then adjusting your medications, but the doctors don't even touch you other than listening to your breathing. I also don't like that they send you all these emails and text messages to pre-register but then when you get to the office you still have to scan and enter the same data in again. What's the point in pre-registering and wasting time if I'm going to have to do it all over again at the office. So, I just don't anymore.

When I had more questions, she didn't hesitate to answer them. It was the kind of medical care you only see in movies and tv shows. This is all true EXCEPT IT DID NOT HAPPEN AT THIS PRACTICE! I recount this story because it's such a stark contrast to what I experienced here. The medical and admin staff here could not care less about the people who seek their help. They like us the same way vampires like people - we're just funding their yachts and second vacation homes. They don't care if you live or die or if your quality of life is piss poor, so long as you pay that copay and all the subsequent "procedural" fees you'd have to pay. To be clear, there are still good medical providers out there - you just won't find them at MedStar Navy Yard

Your time spent with the doctor is longer than in any other office I've been in. Plus, the doctor is listening to you and not typing things into his computer because there is a medical scrip taking notes of what he says and you say the entire time. He's paying complete attention to you. Bloodwork is done in-house, you get the results the same day or while you wait for no additional charge. My current doctor is Dr. Hodes and he knows me.
