He made us wait for 45 minutes, he had overbooked his schedule. This isn't a airline....why are you so backed up??? The doctor was distracted and clearly tired. He threw drugs samples at us with no clear clarification, and when we requested more information he stated "Listen I stayed late to see you today".. how are you tell a patient something like that. You staying late is NOT our issue. My SO was in extreme pain and imagining was needed to see what could be done, after playing phone tag for two weeks, the doctor says to my SO "oh you need authorization, you didn't tell us your insurance needed auth", look its important that patients be aware of their insurance plans but as a trained medical professional these kind of things are supposed to be verified in advance. He wrote scripts for us , when we took it to the pharmacy, they didn't feel comfortable filling even after they spoke with HIM because of his inability to explain exactly why her was prescribing it. We had to go to another pharmacy and they had to call him again to confirm the medication . Meanwhile my loved one is WRITHING in pain. Needless to say we have stopped seeing this doctor, especially since we placed a request for a call back from the doctor 4 weeks ago...and still nothing... This doctor I'm sure in his prime , he was fantastic , he has lots of OLD pictures with dignitaries in his office...which doesn't matter to me if you don't treat your regular day to day with respect!!!! We have found a awesome MD affiliated with VHC in arlington VA. AVOID THIS DOCTOR AT ALL COST!

I would strongly advise against going to AllCare at Navy Yard, Washington DC. My experience with…read moretheir office has been nothing short of frustrating, unprofessional, and outright negligent. I had been trying for weeks to get a prescription for my blood pressure medication, which is crucial for my health. After completing my bloodwork, I reached out multiple times, only to be ignored. With only one day of medication left, I had no choice but to walk into their clinic. Instead of receiving help, I was met with an incredibly hostile and dismissive receptionist who acted as though my urgent medical need was an inconvenience. Despite my repeated attempts to explain the seriousness of the situation, she rudely brushed me off and tried to send me away. I insisted on staying until someone addressed the issue. After a long wait, I was finally told my prescription was being taken care of--only to later receive a text message saying they ordered the wrong bloodwork and that I had to go through the process all over again. They finally admitted that the mistake was theirs, yet fail to see or care how this oversight is a major inconvenience and risk to my health. When I expressed frustration over their incompetence, the receptionist had the nerve to tell me I was upset because I wasn't "getting my way." Excuse me? This is not about getting my way--it's about managing a serious medical condition! Their lack of care, dismissive attitude, and unwillingness to take responsibility for their errors are unacceptable. I am now searching for a new primary care doctor because I refuse to trust my health to a place that operates with such disregard for its patients. If you value your well-being, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. This experience was so unprofessional that I am going to be filing a formal complaint with AllCare and my insurance company.

She listens and never dismisses concerns, she makes you feel comfortable and at ease and like you're a team in figuring out even the most mysterious of symptoms. I've brought her issues that have been dismissed by doctors in the past and she's been able to find both a diagnosis and a solution! I've been so grateful to find a doctor I know will listen to me and is invested in finding both the root cause of a problem and a solution, so I will keep coming back to this location regardless of anything else.

I had a new that doctor who appeared slightly overwhelmed and unorganized. SUGGESTION BOX; Please ensure that exam tables have clean cover paper available for all exam beds. My exam bed was uncovered (gross) I hope that it was at least sanitized. Please do not leave a patient sitting in a dark exam room for over 25 mins. (forget about me?) Please suggest and provide a EKG test to your at risk (older) patients complaining of chronic chest pain. Please advise patients if currently taking antibiotics if this could effect your viruses testing. At checkout, I was informed the doctor is leaving the practice with no return date, meaning there is no provider available to review my upcoming test results. I attempted to raise my concerns with the on site supervisor, Ms. Rhoades, but was told they were unavailable. However, I was able to see her walking around the hallway through the window. I was also informed that other MedStar locations have no primary care to even review my results. The front desk staff were empathetic but appeared overwhelmed and unsupported. Given the provider's departure, this appointment should have been canceled in advance and follow up care coordinated. Instead, I'm left without continuity of care after a long wait. It was a very frustrating experience.

Your time spent with the doctor is longer than in any other office I've been in. Plus, the doctor is listening to you and not typing things into his computer because there is a medical scrip taking notes of what he says and you say the entire time. He's paying complete attention to you. Bloodwork is done in-house, you get the results the same day or while you wait for no additional charge. My current doctor is Dr. Hodes and he knows me. He knows my wife. He isn't so overwhelmed with patients that I'm otherwise just a number. The messaging service is also fantastic. Once, my wife sustained a liquid burn on her hand and by sending a picture through the app, she was prescribed a cream immediately (on a Sunday) and she was able to get it and use it the same day. Yes, it is concierge medicine, but when you count up all your co-pays that you no longer have to pay, I think this is a fair deal, especially if you really care about your health.

The technology there is mind blowing! I've never been this excited about going back to the doctors office. They are also super responsive. You stay connected with them via an app and can send messages at any time of day. Just last night I sent them my 23andMe results (they give you a free test with registration) at 1:03am and got a response back at 1:20am saying it was received. Crazy!! Like I said, nothing but great things to say about them so far.
