Dr. Kuzma is AWESOME!!! I had to change dentist due to insurance reasons and could never find the right dentist. All the dentist I went to after I had to leave Dr. Kuzma, screwed up my teeth. Now I have come back to Dr. Kuzma and I'm NEVER going to leave him again. There is so much work that needs to be done to my teeth because of the other dentist and AWESOME SAUSE Dr. Kuzma is working with me to get them all fix with in my insurance cap. THANK YOU DR. KUZMA. I want to preface by saying the receptionists, hygienists, and dentists were very kind! I felt comfortable during my cleaning. However, heads up - the woman that answered the phone told me multiple times that they were in network for Delta Dental PPO, and confirmed this in the office when I filled out the paperwork. I got x-rays and a cleaning and found a $446 bill on my account a few weeks later because they were not in network for Delta Dental PPO. When we called the office, they confirmed they were in network, and when we said obviously this wasn't in network because insurance didn't cover anything. My mom called and tried to confirm with the receptionist and she said "well of course we're in network with Delta Dental PPO!" and my mom replied that the insurance wasn't converting anything, and when she transferred the phone to the office manager, she said "what? we tell everyone we aren't in network!" which is not what the lady told us literally just five seconds beforehand. It is disappointing that we were given the wrong information because I really liked the care they provided, but the lack of clarify on whether we were in network or not & the $446 dollars lost was unfortunate. read more

The main dentist APPEARS to be a decent guy, but I'm not sure what his issue with me was and really don't care at this point. One of many issues I had, but the first & foremost problem was that it was nearing the end of the year and I had a few issues to take care of. The dentist looked me in the face and told me we could handle some of the issues before my benefits expired for the year. They were supposed to call me within a week. Never called. To make a long story short, I didn't get to use roughly $4000 in insurance money for that year. And I was potentially looking at 2 implants. No acknowledgment, apology, no phone call. I had to call them several times. Another time I waited for close to 90 min to be seen, before deciding to just leave. I couldn't get back in to see him for at least 3 weeks. Which is part of the reason time was running out at the end of the year to use my benefits. The very last issue I had was after waiting 45 min to see him. He looks at my mouth for about 2 min..... I was told that I would need to have 4 teeth pulled. I had 2 cavities. I asked if he could fill them, he said no. He's got a bunch of other patients still to see today. So I'm thinking to myself, what I am? Maybe he's primarily looking for the big dollar issues. I really don't know. I went to my own Endodontist and was told I needed a root canal on 1 tooth. 1 tooth needed extraction. The other 2 teeth were fine. Huge difference from the b.s. he gave me. There were other issues as well. Some of the staff were just not very good at all. In Training. Very heavy handed, etc. Some of the administrative ladies are nice, but overall, my experience was bad. It's too bad, because the dentist appears to be a nice man, but dude you gotta treat people right. If this was 10 years ago, I probably would have flew off the handle & made a scene. But MATURITY is a good thing. It's better to just find a better fit for me. And my message to this dentist & staff: Be mindful of how you treat people, whether they are white, hispanic, black, asian, etc. That will come back on you sooner or later..... read more

Highly recommend. My Family has been loyal to Dr. Kuzma's Office for over a decade. When my insurance changed and this was in my new network, I was happy that Dr. Matt was accepting new patients. It's now time for my daughter to transition from pediatrics. I'm happy & relieved knowing she will be in the best hands with Dr. Matt. There is something to be said when a son follows in his father's footsteps. We are happy to support a family business that values their patients/clients. Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde Dr. Kuzma was at first my favorite dentist, thought we had a good rapport joking, laughing, but got what I needed done... he did a few procedures, even extractions & implants, but this last extraction was very painful and was in pain for 2 1/2 weeks. Dr. Kuzma seem to avoid my requests to get in to see him or even to call me back, only had his receptionist or associate talk to me. Then when I did get an appointment to see him 2 weeks later, he did a Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde kind of thing. Looked in my mouth said it was "dirty" didn't bother cleaning it nor acted the same, was rude & very unprofessional. He even had a receptionist wait & lead me out, said he couldn't see me anymore other than I wasn't following directions. I don't know if it was because I was asking for pain medicine because I was still in pain or what was the real reason he cut off my dental care with him... To me kicking someone out while knowing they're still in pain with a procedure he just performed is very unprofessional. read more

Dr. Matthew Kuzma and Dr. Anna were absolutely phenomenal. My family was notified a couple weeks ago that we are headed to Germany this summer. I was trying to find a dr that could provide me a dental implant quickly since many wouldn't give me a consultation in March or April which would have pushed our orders out. I saw Dr. Kuzma, Monday, Feb 27th, and by Thursday March 2nd, I had my screw in place! His team went above and beyond to accommodate me by stay LATE and giving me VIP treatment the entire time. What a fantastic staff and so professional. I wish I could take them with me to Germany! Love them! read more

RUN, DO NOT WALK, TO THE NEAREST EXIT. Last year, we scheduled an appointment with this dental provider after our dentist of 20 years retired. We've been struggling to find a qualified service provider since then. Dentists are service providers--we pay them for their services, and in return, they should deliver quality care. I first noticed issues with this practice last year when we scheduled an appointment and ended up waiting three hours after we arrived. Additionally, there was confusion about payment; we received a check instead of the payment being sent directly to the dental practice. When we asked why, it turned out that they weren't actually a provider for our insurance--this was an error on their side. The previous dentist, the father of the current one, had an agreement with Delta, but the new dentist did not. I had to take the check to the practice myself, which made no sense to me. While the dental services were good, the front office team struggled to get our x-rays from our previous provider. They couldn't figure out how to obtain them, so we had to get new x-rays, which was an unnecessary expense. I tried to be understanding and roll with the punches, but these issues were all related to the front office's inefficiency. Today, we had an appointment for a cleaning. This appointment was scheduled months in advance. However, I had to reschedule it for September due to a medical emergency, and the soonest they could offer me a new appointment was in February, which should have been a red flag. I called yesterday to inform them that I've been sick for the last few days and to see if I could reschedule for a couple of days later because I didn't want to come in sick. It's been two years since I've had my teeth cleaned due to COVID and other reasons. The person helping us (Irene?) said she would try to find me a date within the next week and would call me back if she could. I told her that if she couldn't find a new date, I would be there tomorrow at 10 AM. We arrived at 10 AM, only to be informed that because I was sick, they wouldn't service me. However, they took my wife, who was also sick, which made no sense, so we left. While the dentist may be fine, the front office staff is failing. There are too many dentists out there to put up with this kind of incompetence--don't deal with this group. read more

I have seen Dr Matt even since he took over his father's practice. He is phenomenal. After a horrible experience at another dental office, which kept me from going for years, he was a breath of fresh air. Matt and his staff listened to my concerns, kept an eye on a few teeth and never pushed me into getting work done that wasn't 100% necessary at that time. A few years later I ended up needing to do the crown on the tooth they had been monitoring and I've never had a procedure be completely pain free from beginning to end! I'm used to multiple locations having to be numbed, meaning lots of needle jabs into my gums, but not with Matt. He completely numbed me with just one gentle poke that didn't hurt at all. Kuzma DDS Replaced a crown in October 2022 & I was never told I had a pocket depth of 7 at the crown location. Had one of his hygienist clean my teeth in October 2022 she measured all my gums at 2's and a few 3's. I have lost the crown and will need laser surgery to fix what he should of advised me of. I went back twice saying there was a problem with the crown and still he mentioned nothing about the receding gum around the crown. The new periodontist says the gum receding has been going on well before October 2022. read more

First it's good to understand that this practice actually has 2 Dr Kuzmas. I've been seeing Dr Matt Kuzma since coming here. My husband and I appreciate feeling like valued patients, never rushed, and the staff have always done their best to accommodate us and our schedules. This office has many of the upgraded tech dentists use: instant imaging, 3D imaging, everything is electronic. I like my cleanings - my hygienist is thorough and doesn't make me feel bad for not flossing enough. She gives me tips instead. We look forward to seeing our dentist twice yearly and trust his opinion. read more

Every single staff member is extremely professional. The office is clean and organized. I have been going to Dr. Kuzma for about 3 decades now and his son took over. My husband and I have been patients with this practice for about 20 years. Since Dr. Walter Kuzma has retired and his son has taken over the practice, things have changed. First they started late fees without notification & started threatening collections. All without calling or texting, just sending letters. Now they proclaim they are not going to process Delta Dental claims as they have for years. You'll have to pay up front for your treatments and wait for reimbursement while they submit the claim. As retired people on a fixed income, this makes it very difficult to obtain regular checkups let alone anything more involved. The final straw for me was when I had to cancel my appointment this Thursday because of surgery and was told they couldn't get me in until next February. By then this year's Delta Dental benefits would have expired. I don't know what's going on over there, but I'm out. When they keep taking on new patients without the time available to treat their long standing patients, maybe it's time to take a deep dive into standard business practice 101. read more

I have been going to Dr. W. Kuzma for 16 years and I have always been quite satisfied from start to finish. Today was a different story. I arrived at my appointment time, 11:30 and I was taken back to an exam room. The assistant said Dr. M. Kuzma was finishing up with a patient and would be right with me. I could hear him working in the adjoining room while he talked about baseball to the patient's father. No one ever came back to tell me he was running late. I decided at noon to leave and come back at another time when Matt was not so busy. The receptionist went back and assured me he was coming right in to see me so I went back to the exam room. When Matt came in no apology was offered that he was running late. As a matter of fact no one offered an apology about having me wait 35 minutes past my scheduled appointment. I understand when there is a delay but it is important to keep patient's informed. Everyone likes respect for their time. I will think about this more but I may be looking for a new dentist. After a very disturbing and unprofessional phone call from Matt Kuzma, My husband and I will be seeking a new dentist. As a senior military healthcare professional who has often been asked to review patient complaints, the way my concerns were addressed was a failure. I was berated, and more or less accused of being ungrateful. A more appropriate response would have been to simply apologize that I was not kept informed and I would have been happy to remove my first review. Offering excuses for a lack of courtesy is inappropriate. It is a hard lesson to learn but whether you feel the customer/patient is right or wrong you must remain professional. read more

I've recently moved back to Fairfield and have been seeing Dr. Matt Kuzma since then. I have had some major procedures done such as a root canal and It's been the best experience I've had at the dentist . They make sure I'm completely comfortable and explain everything down to the products they use and why they are used. Pat and jasmine are so sweet and so funny. And Dr. Matt is so gentle and comforting he does an amazing job. The office is super clean and spacious with a great view to help you relax during your appointment. Office is exceptionally clean, great views, and has nice staff at front desk. Dr. Kuzma is very gentle and soft spoken, but is gives information you need in a straightforward manner that's easily understood. Hygienist was awesome! Super friendly and obviously cared about how well she was doing and about me as a patient. My only complaint was that the second half of my cleaning appointment or check up wasnt scheduled; due to the nature of my dental needs, I was unsure in which order I needed to see specialists I was referred to and when I needed to go back to see Dr. Kuzma. A written plan of action would help me; I plan to ask for next time I go in. read more

I was recommended to Dr. Kuzma by another dentist/specialist and I am so happy they did! They are wonderful people with an awesome location that is clean, has nice views, and great reading material. They truly care about you and treat you as such. I don't do pain well at all and my last dentist recommended I go to my doctor first and get a prescription for Vicodin. Seriously? I gave stars for the front office staff and the hygienist, they are all awesome. Dr. Kuzma's work is good, but he has a slow, very light touch. My complaint is that halfway through a filling he told me he was going to let my jaw rest...and didn't come back! I heard him next door talking to a patient, and the hygienist said he was doing an exam. When Dr. Kuzma returned, he was surprised that I questioned why he left and told me that I should have known how long I would be there. In 50+ years and four states of dental visits, I have never had a dentist walk away from me to work on another patient. The front office told me that this was the norm in California...I find that so hard to believe. It was rude, and showed such a lack of respect for my time. I certainly don't want to spend more time than necessary in a dental office.There must be dentists in California with a greater respect for their patients. read more
