My insurance changed after I retired. My regular dentist and periodontist didn't accept my new dental insurance. Despite some of his reviews, I took a chance with Dr. Galvan. He did an exam, did a cleaning and recommended two crowns. I asked if he minded if I asked to send the xrays to my former dentist of 40+ years to take a look. He said he didn't. When I saw my dentist's office for an out of pocket cleaning, I learned my insurance would cover a periodontist. They recommended one and I called her to make an appointment and was told the referral had to come from Dr Galvan because he was in the plan. When I called Dr. Galvan's office for the periodontist referral, I was told I had been dropped as a patient and that was all they had to say. Because it would delay my cleaning, I begged for the referral and was told I would have to get another dentist. Guess he didn't like that I got a 2nd opinion and didn't get the crowns. I was scheduled to have my #19 extracted yesterday 3/3/2025. Now, I rescheduled my appointment from two weeks ago due to being real busy. I signed-off on their required docs, and I was immediately called to be seen. Dr. Galvan provided me an overview of all dental work to be performed. He gave me required shots before performing the removal of #19 tooth. Then he began working on tooth, telling me I will feel him pushing in my mouth, and if I feel any discomfort just raise my left hand. Then he instructed me to bite down about 20 minutes later and sit up. He said I''m going to tell you about procedures, I interrupted Dr. Galvan asking him when are you going to 'Pull The Tooth Out', and he responded with a smile stating it's 'Done'. I was taken back, then his assistance showed me my tooth. This is why I rated Dr. Galvan 5-Stars on his Excellent workmanship in dental field. read more

I was excited to visit this office, but left feeling really disappointed. I was told more than once that my X-rays would be covered, even after I offered to bring my recent records -- so I trusted what I was told and went ahead. During the exam, the dentist took a photo without telling me there would be a charge, even after I explained I was already seeing an ENT for the issue. When I called to express my concerns, I was told that since I signed a financial form, there was nothing they could do. I was more than willing to take responsibility if I had been given honest, accurate information -- or if the picture taken was going to be of any use for me knowing I already am treated for it. Instead, when I asked why their staff gave false or assumptive answers, the response I got was, "We can sit here and argue all day, but I can't help you." That's not how any healthcare office should treat people. All I wanted was a bit of understanding and accountability. Honest communication goes a long way -- especially in healthcare, where trust matters most. I hope this helps someone else ask the right questions before making the same mistake I did. read more

I had a great experience with Steve Galvan. Making an appointment wasn't hard and the staff too every precaution and protocol to avoid unnecessary contact due to Covid-19. Appointments were a little far out and when you finally get in waiting is a bit longer than expected, I guess I shouldn't be surprised considering the man has two offices and splits his time between both locations. Once I was in, Dr. Galvan was professional and friendly, he took x-rays, did the exam and made recommendations and referrals to all the right places I felt comfortable going to. I had a similar experience to some of the previous reviewers. This dentist said I needed to have 5 teeth removed and then referred me to a periodontist for a deep cleaning. The periodontist said I did NOT need to have 5 teeth removed, just one that was broken. Their office did the root cleaning and the periodontist said the rest of my teeth were in good condition. I went back to Dr. Galvan to have the broken tooth removed and he said I had to have a bone graft that would cost over $2300, in order to have the tooth removed! My portion of the cost would be $800+ out of pocket. I was shocked and they told me I could apply for "care credit", which rejected my application. I asked why I couldn't just have the tooth removed and was told "you can't argue with the dentist, this is his belief and he knows best"! I left there feeling very upset, but I went back to the periodontist and asked him to pull the tooth out, which he did with no bone graft and no problem! Dr Galvan also told me he didn't want to make a "flipper" to fill in the missing tooth because I wouldn't be happy with it and would just waste his time! I will never go back to that dentist again! I went for an estimate to replace a crown on a tooth that had a root canal on it... I have dental insurance thru Medicare ... Dr Galvan was going to charge me for things I didn't need such as a build up , gingevectomy (that's part of the crown prep ) meds on the tooth and an extra charge for the material needed for the crown.. I believe he was taking advantage of the insurance company and me.. he was going to charge me 1400$ more than the dentist that I found ... ridiculous !!! read more

I visited this office a couple of months ago and I found the front office girl to be rude and pushy. They were understaffed and unprofessional. Dr. Galvan suggested procedures that were unnecessary just to pad the bill. I asked several times for an itemized treatment plan and never received one. I was told by the front office girl that they had referred me to another office for some work that needed to be done and after two months I have heard nothing. I would never refer anyone to this office. And this opinion is coming from A former registered dental assistant so I know exactly what I'm talking about. read more

It has been a long while since I had been to this dentist. He couldn't numb me so he gave me shots in every which direction over and over and I felt like a pin cushion. I had never had that happen before, I always liked going to the dentist before. I also never was quite numbed before he would work till I would start to feel pain and then he would give me more and more numbing shots. I was so stressed that I wanted to walk out mid appointment. On one visit he complimented my straight teeth and told me how lucky I was that I had never had braces, on the next visit he told me I had a slight overbite that could always be corrected if I wanted. read more

I needed emergency dental help. I went online to find the closest dentist with at least a 3 1/2 star rating. I found Dr. Galvan called his office explained to their staff my emergency dental issue. They refused to see me because of the corona virus scare. They said call back in 3 weeks. So much for caring compassionate dental professionals. read more

I have always had a big fear of going to the dentist but I recently couldn't put it off any longer, Kathy helped me be seen the same day and was so understanding and helpful I would definitely recommend coming in and seeing her and Dr Galvan! Stopped going here years ago because everytime I visited I needed extra work not covered by my insurance. I never met with Dr. "Steve", but was pawned off on another doctor, who barely spoke English (and the mask over his face made it impossible to understand him) in an open and dirty treatment room where I literally counted the dustballs until my cleaning was over. The last straw was when I was told that if I did not consent to peridontal scaling (at a cost of $250 per quadrant), they would have to drop me as a patient. Decided to beat them to the punch and got a better insurace plan with more choices for a new dentist (which I love) and it's six years later and I have yet to have periodontal scaling... read more

The Office manager whom works at the front desk, Kathy, is very competent and professional. It was refreshing for both myself and Kathy to communicate what needed to be done and schedule visits to the office in advance, instead of just showing up and expecting work to be done. With that said, Dr. Galvand wanted a ton of different work done on my teeth with different modalities in order to run up the check. I came in to his office for a rather routine cleaning that he has done for people many times before and he didn't seem too interested in doing just that part. Instead, he was rather aggressive with all of the other work that he wanted to perform on my teeth which would have cost me a greater sum of money and was unnecessary. Ultimately, a dental hygienist in his office performed the cleaning which was satisfactory and at the agreed upon time scheduled initially with Kathy. Dr. Galvan and his staff are amazing! His staff is always smiling and have given my family and I the highest quality of service. I would like to recognize Dr. Galvan for going above and beyond his duty. I was scheduled to fly out on a Saturday (office is normally closed). I was in route for military duty. I called Dr. Galvan and explained how much pain I was in. I was suffering from a broken tooth that hit the nerve. Dr. Galvan opened up his office that day and took care of my dental issue. If is wasn't for him that day, my 30 days of military training would of been a horrible dental experience. Dr. Galvan and his crew are truly the best!!! read more

Totally unprofessional and horrible follow-up. They also told me I had several "pre-cavities" and tried to get me to spend thousands of dollars. I was there for over 4 hours for a cleaning and had to wait over an hour. I would never ever recommend! read more
