Great dentist, great office and staff. They took care of a bad filling and made a great emergency repair the same day.

I don't have the words to express how fantastic Dr. Lum and his staff are. I have been here now, probably four years. The quality of care is only matched by the professionalism that you experience. They truly care about their patience and work to ensure that you feel like family from the moment you walk in the door. They don't just treat you and forget you. They make sure that there's continuity of care with other dental practitioners whether it be ortho or any other Dental professional. Dr. Lum follows your case every step of the way. What Dr. Lum and his staff have done for me, I will forever be grateful for. They are an A+. This review wouldn't be complete without mentioning Maribel. She's the heart of the office and keeps it running every day!! read more

If you're on the hunt for an amazing dentist, this is it. Every staff member I interacted with was so kind a caring. I have severe dental anxiety, and put off going to the dentist until I had a problem arise. My interaction started with Mysoon on the phone. They say you can tell a lot about a dental office based on how their receptionist treats you on the phone. Mysoon was so sweet and answered all of my questions so patiently. I first met in an office room with Dr.Blum (may be spelling that wrong) to go over my health history and talk about my anxiety and fear about being at the dentist. He assured me that he was going to do his best to have me smiling and laughing during my treatments. Bianca, my hygienist, was literally so nice and so gentle when doing X-rays. She did her best to keep me calm and relaxed while she was getting all of the images she needed. The star of the show though was Dr.Lum. He was very honest and upfront about the treatment I needed, and helped me make a plan that I could financially achieve. I am actually excited to go back for treatment next week, which I never thought I'd say. Thank you to Dr.Lum and team for making today's visit enjoyable. read more

Best dentist & best staff. I have felt welcome here since the first time I started coming here four years ago. Nobody loves to go to the dentist, but Dr. Lum and his staff make it much nicer. read more

Am very pleased with the tooth Dr. Lam capped recently. Had a veneer and a cap put on by another dentist and both got discolored after a short time. As it was a front tooth, it was very unattractive. A friend referred me to Dr. Lam. She has been his patient for many years and has always been happy with his work. Based on my experience, I would recommend him to anyone looking for a dentist who will do work that is of good quality. I should add that his office is extremely clean and his staff is very professional. read more

I had my first appointment today and I am so happy I was referred to Dr. Lum. It was truly the best experience I've ever had at the dentist. Dr Lum explained everything to me including the details of my teeth and what I need to watch for. I left feeling very informed and I didn't feel like he was trying to push me in certain directions like I have felt with other dentists in the past. His staff are great and so welcoming. Usually I'm a little nervous the first time at a new doctor or dentist but I was completely at ease the moment I walked in. I highly recommend Dr. Lum and his staff! read more

Why have I not yelped the best-est dentist ever??? I've been going to Dr. Lum for 20 years now. I even remember when his office was across the street in the strip mall instead of the business building. He is one of the most genuine, caring, and honest dental professionals that I have ever met. He remembers you by name and personality, not just your dental record. His office keeps great dental records, too. They know exactly how my teeth were during the previous visits. His staff is super friendly and efficient. I'm usually the first appointment in the a.m. and I always walk in towards the end of a staff meeting. This shows me that his staff communicates well and knows how the business is doing. I believe this is one of the reasons the office is run so well. Dr. Lum is also incredibly honest. My boyfriend had a toothache and went to his regular dentist (who knows you only by your yearly insurance coverage) and his dentist suggested a root canal. I didn't think this was right so I asked my boyfriend to see Dr. Lum. Then the truth came out. Dr. Lum flat out said "you don't need a root canal because your toothaches were caused by a sinus infection." Root canal averted - phew. My dental insurance pays for three cleanings a year. Dr. Lum could do all three cleanings and collect the fees but he honestly told me that my teeth were in good shape and I only need two cleanings per year. He's also admitted that his fees are not the lowest - he certainty isn't the cheapest dentist out there! However, the quality of care that him and his staff provide more than make up for it. This is an awesome, awesome dental office! read more

Went there on the wettest storm of the decade. Very friendly staff that thanked me for showing up on such a miserable day. My dental hygienist was Elsa, sorry if I forgot your name, but she was very friendly and courteous even when it was a bloody day. I normally petrified of going to the dentist but it was a pleasure and believe or not, I look forward to my next cleaning. read more

I always said I would mow lawns before giving up getting my hair done professionally. The same is to be said about having Dr Lum as my Families dentist and Amy as our hygienist. The entire staff at the office are professional, caring and fun. Dr Lum has been our family dentist for 13 years now. I've experienced private dental care to the "dental body shops". Through times of having insurance to not we have remained patients of Dr Lum. I know that my family is receiving the best dental healthcare in the area. Thank you Dr Lum and team, your simply the best! read more

I went to Dr Lum with a severe toothache, he was my regular dentist. His schedule was full so I was seen by a new Dr. in the office. I was told several times by the front desk that I would probably not be treated meaning if I needed a root canal the time allotted would not be enough. When I saw the Dr., she refused to give me antibiotics, stating if my face wasn't swollen they don't give them. I explained I was in severe pain and could not wait until Feb. 20, which was weeks from the date I was seen which was the date for the endodontist they set up. Dr. Lum confirmed I would not get antibiotics. The next day the pain was increased 10 times, of course their office was closed on Friday. Went to my husband's dentist, who gave me antibiotics and the pain was relieved within a day. I don't understand how in good conscience a dentist could let a patient leave with no treatment for pain in the plan for over 3 weeks. If in pain or in need of treatment for any infection don't go here!! read more

I will not be shy to say that about 6 or 7 months ago I hated any dentist and hadn't been to one in many years!!! I can say now that I love the dentist and its all because of Dr LUM and his outstanding staff!!! That have made sure that I was 110% comfortable. Amy rocks as a hygienist too! Thank you to Dr Lum and staff for getting me back on track. read more

Well, I hope that Darvie's hands have improved since he kept dropping the ball at Fairfield High all these years ago......... Seriously, though, I will attest to his integrity and strength of character. He will always give you excellent service for a decent price. read more

I REALLY don't like going to the dentist, but Dr. Lum and his staff are the best at making me feel comfortable. They are truly nice people. I recommend a visit to see him if you need a great dentist. read more

We were referred to Dr Lum by a family member. We were told he was the "BEST" dentist in all of Northern CA and now that we have seen him and his work for ourselves, we have to agree. We drive all the way from Danville to his office and it is well worth the drive! His staff is AMAZING and we have never been treated with more kindness and care at a dentist's office. We have a toddler and his staff is ALWAYS so sweet and caring with her, even using their computers to show her movies. I had multiple cavities and Dr Lum did an incredible job filling them and made the procedures pretty painless! When it was time for my teeth cleaning, I saw his dental hygienist who was so detailed and thorough. In all of my life, I had never had a dental hygienist spend a full hour on my teeth, take my blood pressure, even measure my gum line! My husband had his cleaning today and felt the same way. We have never had such amazing care at a dental office and we are so thankful to have found Dr Lum and his amazing staff. read more

we have been going to Dr. Lum for about 6 years. He and his staff are professional and we can recommend him.

I have been a patient for many years, I'd say nearly 20 now (yikes, I'm old). Dr. Lum is wonderful and I love the staff. Many of the employees have been there for years and years, and to me that's really telling when the employees stick around long term - they must be doing something right! Amy is my favorite hygienist, but that's just personal preference as I've had other hygienists periodically over the years and the others were good too. I've heard Dr. Lum isn't the cheapest out there (I wouldn't know as I've never actually price shopped dentists myself), but I feel that the extra money is well worth it for the quality or care that you're getting here. No one loves going to the dentist, but Dr. Lum and his staff make it about as pleasant as a visit to the dentist can be. read more

I recently saw Dr. Lum for the first time mostly for a second opinion on whether I did, in fact, need two crown replacements. The staff was very professional which is always a good start as that's a huge reflection on the Dr. My apprehension was at it's peak, as usual, visiting a dentist but I was/am so impressed with Dr. Lum. He was very thorough and explained my situation in detail. No crown replacements but I did have a couple of issues. In all my years of dental appointments I have never been anesthetized completely on the first try or two. Dr. Lum was right on target with one time and the work was completed easier, painlessly and faster than any other time with other dentists. I highly recommend him and will continue follow up for any continued dental care. read more

I do not normally write reviews but feel I have to write this one. I have been a patient of Dr. Lum for approximately five years and would continue to be so but for moving out of the area. I first contacted Dr. Lum after returning from Iraq and had broken a tooth on a Friday afternoon after closing. He personally opened up his office for me to conduct the repair himself without any of his assistants. I was impressed and became a patient of his right away. My dealings with all of his staff have been extremely pleasurable as they make you feel like part of their family. You will soon be on a first name basis with all of them. His office not only provides excellent service but will follow up after your appointment to see if everything is fine. Dr. Lum guarantees his work as well. I had occasion to return to his office when a crown cracked. He completely redid the crown without incurring additional expenses. He completely explains what he is doing and provides you with options. The best dentist office I have been to ever. read more

I have been terrified of the dentist ever since I was 7 years old and had to get some teeth pulled. I've never liked the dentist I've gone to and I always thought that's just the way it will be. One year my cousin recommended an oral surgeon to me, as I needed a tooth implant. When I was with the oral surgeon he recommended that I switched dentists to the dentist that he works with best, Dr. Lum. I decided why not, I hated my current dentist anyway and it was the best decision I've made. Walking into Dr. Lum's office, every single staff member, including Dr. Lum, knows me by my name, asks me how work is going, how life in the city is, etc. They understand my fear of shots and dental work and always seem to calm me down (without laughing gas!). I've been going to him for over 3 years now and I have yet to have a bad experience or unpleasant work done. I have to drive from San Francisco to Fairfield and back each time I go to the dentist, but believe me, he's worth it! read more
