get with the feelin' y'all, car wash yeah. - Rose Royce I always think I'm in a music video or movie when I want to get my car cleaned and the Rose Royce song is playing in the background. I pull up into the driveway and get in line to have my car vacuumed. Then it gets sent to the wash area and out it comes all shiny and new. Then reality sets in and all I hear is the dj in my head backspin the record and I look at my car. I'm always disappointed and saddened that the Rose Royce song was not shown justice. However all that changed with Walnut Hand Car Wash. Location of this place is actually very good. It's literally surrounded by a number of auto shops. You could probably get your car worked on and washed in the same day and you wouldn't have to go far. There's a Del Taco so you could grab some food as well. The ambiance/decor of the place is very basic. You walk in and there is a small table and two chairs to your left. The counter to pay at is ahead. One thing I did enjoy about this place was the wifi they offered as well as the small cafe and snacks for purchase. Outside is a small patio are with some more tables and chairs. There is also a large wall which you can sit on and wait for your car. Service is terrific. The lady at the counter explained the packages to me and offered me the rewards card. The guys who drive your car into the wash area are very careful and have a certain confidence. After cleaning my car, they even waited for me to get off the phone to tell me my car was ready. Even though I love the place, I have to say they do take a loooong time. I went to this place on a Sunday and only one car ahead of me. It took then 25-30 min to complete the job. Honestly, I didn't mind it since I had nothing to do and the work was amazing. However, for those in a time crunch, be aware you might be waiting. The other thing that was a let down was the price. I don't mind paying the extra 5-8 bucks because the work really shows, but I wash my car maybe once every 40 or so days. This place could burn a hole in your wallet if you like to get a car wash done on a 7-15 day cycle. CONS: - timely - pricy ( affordable if you wash once or twice a month ) PROS: - car wash types ( express, wash, hand wash ) - options/packages - cafe - location This is a great place to get a top class car wash. HORRIBLE PLACE! I came here to get a car wash and they broke my windshield wipers and won't compensate me for them!! They are irresponsible and rude. They didn't even do a good job cleaning! Let me start off by saying that I only created a yelp account to warn everyone considering this place. Although my car was pretty clean, there was more than dirt missing when my car was returned to me. THEY STOLE FROM MY CAR. Although it was only a couple bucks from my coin caddy, its the principal. The guy looked me in the eye with a smile and gladly took another $5 from me in tip. I reported this to the manager/owner and at first she was defensive, then apologetic and offered to give me a dollar. I refused and just wanted her to know how her employees are losing her business. Sad to see one stupid employee be a reason this lady will lose her small business, because I will never go back. Have been going here for almost 2 years now. GOOD: Excellent job! Car is always clean, inside and out. Nothing is ever missing from the car. Friendly staff. Free wifi. Takes about 30 minutes to wash. BAD: Not much to do in the area while waiting. There is a del taco, subway and ten ten within walking distance. Otherwise, you can just sit there an wait. Also, its confusing whether to park the car in queue or in the spaces behind. EXP: $15 plus tip for basic hand wash. $5 for machine. 1-star: I've had hemorrhoids more pleasant than this. 2-star: I would rather avoid this place. 3-star: On par with other similar establishments. 4-star: Will return as often as possible. 5-star: I refuse to find a better place. read more

This place is super shady. I came here to get my car washed and went through the automatic service. The machine was super old. I should've just bailed when I saw it, but I figured since I pulled in already, I couldn't back out. The machine asked me to insert my card, and I inserted it multiple times, but it kept giving me an error message. I then put in cash for a 10 dollar service. It asked me if I wanted to pay 2 extra bucks for some extra exterior work and interior vacuum cleaning they offered. It then tried to give me my change back. It failed, then retried, failed, then retried, then said it was printing my receipt... without even giving me my change. It didn't even print my receipt. The machine started, so I couldn't back out. I think the timers were completely off. My car came out covered in soapy water which dried up immediately in the sun, covering my car completely in water/soap stains. I basically paid $12 dollars for a car wash to make my car even dirtier. I parked my car and went inside their "office". This middle-aged guy at the cash register didn't even acknowledge me when I entered. He was too busy staring down at his phone. When I tried to get his attention, he rolled his eyes and in a rude tone, asked me what I wanted. I told him the machine ate my money and didn't give me my change back. He said he couldn't give me my money back. He said I had to wait for his sister, the manager, to come back... that or he would write me an I.O.U note. I didn't want to risk taking his note, so I decided to wait. I didn't even bring up how dirty my car ended up being. I figured it wouldn't even be worth it. When the manager came back, I told her what happened. She gave me this look like it happens all the time. We used to come to this car wash when in the area because my husband likes their hand wash. But last month my worst experience changed our view. An employee driving another customer's car smashed into mine and pushed mine forwarded to a third car in front of me. So my right passenger car door and front bumper were damaged. The manager signed the accident form did not even have a business card and neither want to give us his name. I called their insurance agent at Farmer who was so rude and impatient when I tried to ask him more about car rental. He hung up on me before I finished talking. I asked the car wash cashier to refund my money and was told that she voided the credit card transaction. Today I got my credit card statement and saw the charge on it without any credit back. This is ridiculous. After almost a month, my car is still in the shop. This caused so much inconvenience to me and none of their employees can do their simple job correctly. The owner was nice when he talked to me over the phone. But unfortunately, the owner does not do any of the work himself. It is the employees and they are terrible. read more

I don't know about others, but this is not a 4 star establishment at all. The carwash is a Self drive in. The machine didn't take any of my credit card and after I put in cash, it didn't spit out a receipt for me to give it to the detailing crew, so I basically spent 12 bucks for a basic drive in car wash. read more

Just took my car there to get it cleaned up after my windows were smashed due to a break in. To be fair, there was glass all over the floor and the seats. My car is also pretty dirty since I haven't washed it in a while. But, while they were pretty careful and meticulous with the exterior of the car, the interior was still left pretty dirty. They weren't careful with removing all the glass from the backseats....and you know....my kid sits in the back so that left me a bit annoyed cuz I don't want her to get scratched up....it was also left dirty like they didn't wipe down the seats or vacuum it enough because I still see dust and glass particles....I paid $16.95 and $2 tip, which is pretty expensive for a regular car wash. Thought I'd try this since reading the reviews and I prefer 100% hand car wash. Came here Saturday morning and there were a few cars. maria didnt pressure me on what to get but since I am new hoping she would so I can figure out what to get. So I got the value since the my car needed some love. It took almost an hour but when I got the car it looked really good!!! Then I complained about the sprinkler water spots so she offered me the clay wax and polish to scratches on my car and I figured I won't have the time to do it so I had it done... Better auto car washes at major gas stations. 1. Machine doesn't register payment, so it doesn't turn on. 2. Have to wait 5 minutes to get someones attention 3. Rude worker comes over and tries to accuse me of not paying or not using the machine properly. 4. Finally punches in the secret code and gets me going. Waste of time and money. I used to come here all the time when I lived in Walnut however after moving to another city I still try to make time and go out of my way to come to this car wash. This is the only place where they truly HAND WASH your car from beginning to end. All the other places claim hand washing but they use the wheel track washes where damages are more likely to occur. They did add the machine wash cheaper option here but I've never used it. The hand washing is more expensive and they recently raised it up to $17 I believe. It does take longer especially when they're busy but it's worth the wait. No other car wash compares! read more

Theres a reason why Lamborghinis and Skylines come here. They know what they are doing. This place has a cheap auto wash option, but I don't recommend it because the hand wash is worth it. I love this place. I've been coming here for a few years now and they always do a stellar job with my car. Although some places charge me the price of a sedan for my Rav4 and this place charges me the truck fee, I still think its worth it. They wash every car BY HAND! They recently started a stamp program 10 washes and you get the next one free. If you get wax, Maria should give you 2 stamps (she has for me for the past 2 waxes). The air freshener is a bit strong for me so I don't ask for it any more but if you like it, they have a great selection of scents for you to choose from (beware: they are VERY generous is how many sheets the out in your car). ****Not A Honest Place and A Botched service*** Took my new car here for a wash, since I had very good service here last time with my old car, however very disappointed , I paid for a $42 car wash with hand wax, and when I got my car it was still dirty in spots and the car was still dripping water in areas , worst of all there were 2 small spots that were dented and chipped Maria (I believe was the manager) said the dents were from stones on the freeway, OK I know I didn't have them yesterday but I couldn't argue that with her without photos taken from yesterday, however I have had this car only 2 weeks and I am so meticulous with it and I don't drive the freeways so how did this happened? and what about the dirty spots and it was not a proper wax job either , since they gave the car back to me so fast , Maria offered me either money back or she will wax the car for me one more time her self (I actually don't believe it was even waxed the first time )I choose to take her offer to wax my car again, which I might add that it took her over 30 minutes to complete, so it just proved that it was never done the first time. The 1 stars is for Maria to trying to resolve the issue and make her customer happy, but honestly this was a bad experience, I have been here before they have always took their time and I waited for an hour and over but it was that much time they spent on my car, but since it's busy on weekends they are just doing a botched job trying to go fast, and thinking that a silver car won't show dirt , and probably didn't even really wax it. This is really not making me want to return, however Maria promised next time she will inspected it before she gives back my key. Sit out side and watch them work, especially on weekends, try to come on weekdays if you must, the workers here will try to short change you if you have a metallic car that don't show dirty easily, if you pay for a wax job make sure they wax it , they will try to get away with it if they can . read more

They were much quicker than expected and did a good job with their express. I didn't expect them to go over it with a fine-tooth comb, so a tiny spot or two of sap that stayed stuck on was to be expected and OK IMO. They had decent wifi and I was able to sit down and work on stuff while I waited. Looks like I'll be making this my usual place and will be getting one of their discounted package deals. Which should make it easier for me to bring the car in more often, at least when I know I'd prefer the car to be clean. read more

Hate giving 1 star reviews but I must in this case. Been here in the past and for the most part they did a good job on getting the car clean. I get the quick detail deal every time. Well, the last time I came here they used some sort of chemical that was not meant for matte finished wheels. I kick myself from not catching it before I left. Now the wheels look stained from some type oil additive they used for their wheel cleaner. read more

Decided to check this place out since I saw a buddy of mine say it was a decent spot. Man. Worst decision ever. Guy called me because my car was apparently ready. I do my usual inspection and geez! (Keep in mind my car is black) Hand and palm prints everywhere, water dropping on the the bottom of the doors, wheels still wet. I asked the guy if he has a rag.. he wiped one part and stopped. So i asked him for my keys and popped my trunk to get my own microfiber towels out and wipe it myself. He then answered the his phone as I kept wiping. I kept looking back and he's just on the phone talking and not caring about his own customer wiping and drying the car that he was supposed to finish. To top it off, he stops me and says "If youre going to continue, can u park it over there I have another car coming." Pfft. Put the $10 I was gonna give for tip back in my pocket and drove to other side of the parking lot to dry and wipe my own car. Worst $40 decision ever made for my car. Why didn't I take pictures? just finished my car wash. I washed off the tree sap this morning and saw that the roof drip molding was still in place. But I just picked up my car 15 minutes ago, and was told that the black roof drip molding was gone, and they said they don't see it. by the way the car had so many water marks and a bird pooh streak, asked the gentleman to clean that and he first says that's a scratch. I then had to proof to him it was dirt/ pooh and used my nails to scrap off part of it, only then did he try and use his cloth to wipe off.... OMG. first time here and last time ever. read more

I've been washing my car here for the past few years since it's near by, but i went today, and i saw the store manager **pointed fingers at a customer stating that the customer has bad attitude.** What kind of a manager does that?? Went and got a express wax. They left excess wax all over, the windows were still dirty, left the hood dirty even though they "waxed". The interior wasn't really cleaned at all. They pulled a stitch from my passenger seat somehow. The vacuuming was horrible, they didn't even vacuum the trunk. I left w/o saying anything and fixed everything at home. read more

Be careful at this Car wash. The employees are crooks. They will steal half your quarters from your change box. Every time I went there I noticed missing change. Last time I went there I counted my change and had 20 quarters and when I got my car back from the wash I only had 10 quarters left. I am never going back there again. Stealing is bad business. Also the service here is bad. You can never find the cashier in the office. The place is so under staffed that the cashier is always busy vacuuming all the cars. read more

Very disappointed. Paid $26 for exterior and interior job. That included clean the seats and Amoral the dash, which none of these were done. Overall vacuum job was bad, still had dirt on my floor. I asked the guy what he did, he said he wiped down the interior doors and steps, and they still looked dirty and scuffed with dirt marks. Horrible job. Exterior had a big dirty spot on the door that they missed. They do not check their work. Unfortunately for me I was on a time restraint. Took them an hour to do this crappy job. Never going back. Warning, do not go here, PERIOD. They have false advertising. I went in and paid $35 to get my SUV washed with their premium wash and they just gave me the regular $20 fast wash. Didn't even wipe everything down nor apply the ArmorAll treatments they were supposed to. Should have just washed it myself instead of being lazy, lesson learned! read more
