My husband has a serious condition and was referred to an excellent specialist. My elderly mom also has a serious eye condition and was referred to excellent specialists. Sue has been helping me choose frames that are both attractive and comfortable. She accurately measures and fits the glasses. I love this office. I can't understand the negative reviews. Sometimes you get the attitude you give. No one has ever been rude to me. Only time I was referred to another doctor was when my family or I needed care this office could not provide.

He's really good at explaining things and very willing to listen and get feed back to find the best fit for me.

The plus side: The office is very friendly especially the woman at the front desk. They had a great selection of frames including Coach, Versace, Calvin Klein, Ed Hardy and a few other designers. Prices were a lot better than your Lens Crafters or Pearle Vision stores. My appointment was at 3 and they took me at 3:02 so there wasn't a huge wait. Dr. Conrod was extremely personable and polite and explained my many options for eye care. The negative: The tech or whomever that I first saw was really rude and possessed the listening skills of a toddler. If I have to explain to you multiple times in a five minute conversation that I mainly wear glasses and rarely wear contacts and I want to wear contacts daily and use my glasses as a back up, you really are not listening to me at all. It's frustrating to be a new patient with a new provider and have the staff treat you like you're stupid and you wouldn't possibly understand your own eye care or eye health. In a similar vein, the woman at the front desk gave me the fifth degree over my insurance plan, corrected what I said and then ended up being wrong. However she, unlike the tech or whatever, apologized and corrected her mistake. Honestly? LISTEN TO YOUR PATIENTS! If it wasn't for the doctor himself, I would have gone elsewhere. I'm hoping that when I go back to for my contact lens follow up, I have a better experience.

That is why i have been seeing her for about 9-10 years, maybe more... BUT to get to Dr Scanlon you have to get passed the trolls. The customer service in the front of the vision center is some of the worst I've ever experienced. I'm surprised these women still have jobs here with the way they treat and talk to people. Rude, short, snippy. They act as if you are bothering them. Whenever you walk in, most times you are made to wait a minute or so before you are acknowledged or helped, even when there is no one else there. Standing there is awkward. One of the trolls is worse then the others, but the others seem to follow suit when she is there. And on this last visit I noticed cleaning practices slacking. I watched the main troll put dirty glasses that people tried on right back on the display without cleaning them. How unsanitary... I decided to get glasses elsewhere. I'll be back in a year or two for Dr Scanlon, but if she wasn't so amazing I would never recommend this place. My advice, Just get your exam and then run far away from this place...

My vision was severely impaired in my left eye and I was fearful that I was going to be blind in it. She was able to reverse the pain and vision loss that I had with proper medication and treatment. She is extremely professional and very kind, understanding and gives quality care. I feel like it's not that easy to find that these days everyone Dr. seems like they're in a rush and don't really give you the time of day. Thank you Dr. Scanlon!

I am a Type 2 Diabetic & on Medicare. I called Medicare & they said Medicare will pay because I am a diabetic. I set up a 3 way conversation with Medicare & Pam & Medicare told her they will pay because I'm a diabetic. Pam insisted that Medicare won't pay for the eye refraction. I left & went to another Eye Doctor & I was told that Medicare does pay for Diabetics. I am so happy I made the change.

The problem comes after your office visit and they try to pressure you into buying glasses or contacts here . They also went as far as putting a hold on ny VSP benefit when I only wanted an eye exam. I went to use my VSP plan at another eyewear provider and they said this fine office put an authorization hold on my benefits so that I could only use them at this provider.
