There was a minor issue with one screw having been replaced with another that was very slightly shorter in length. They offered to obtain a whole new frame set for me. I declined as the issue was basically invisible. In the event, it never caused any problems in over 4-1/2 years. Based on my experience in 2012 I felt that they would do just about anything to ensure my satisfaction. I am clearly looking to have the same experience again. I will post an update in a few weeks once the new glasses have been delivered. Update August 2017: Same great service. I've had my new glasses for going on a year now and they are top notch. Update April 2023: I got another pair for a new prescription in February of 2022. Same story, great service and glasses.

Obviously upset I took them back to Lens Crafters where I had purchased them. I didn't feel like I was holding them too tightly but I'm sure it was something that I did on my end rather than it being a manufacturer defect. I already searched online and after reading Ray Bans warranty and entering my case scenario in, the outlook was bleak. I was going to have to pay $$ for a new frame. As I walked in, I was greeted by a woman who I'm assuming is the manager. I explained what had happened and she stated that there was nothing they could do and recommended that I check with the jeweler at the mall to see if they could weld them back together. I think she sensed that I was frustrated or maybe it was divine intervention...either way, she immediately stood up and walked over to the wall of frames. She found my exact frames, walked back to the desk and immediately swapped out the lenses. I asked what I owed her and she told me nothing. I was shocked to say the least. I explained to her that I had been getting a lot of bad news lately and that this was a very big blessing. I asked her if I could at least give her a hug and she agreed. I'm so happy to see that there are still people out there who care about their customers. I will never go to another business again, even if it means I have to pay more. Place was clean and welcoming. The doctor was fast yet efficient which was nice. They have this new technology where they hold up the iPad/tablet to your face with the frames on. It takes your measurements instead of relying solely on self measuring. That way it's accurate, HOW COOL IS THAT! My glasses came in so fast too not the week they had originally given me. My only down side would be not having a hard case or glass cleaner pad when given the glasses. It comes in a baggie and apparently the baggie can be used to clean it as well which didn't quite work for me. Luckily I have an old cleaner that works fine. Would still definitely recommend!

This has been an awful experience with America's Best. I came in for my glasses and contact…read moreprescription and was advised to try a new contact lens because my eyes had recently been getting irritated from my previous lenses. A trial lens was ordered, and I was told my left eye looked dry and that I needed to use prescription eye drops for a week before coming back. I returned a week later just to be told both eyes looked dry and that I needed to use artificial tears and come back AGAIN in another week. After following all instructions and returning yet another time, I was then told I needed to go to an ophthalmologist clinic for medical clearance before they could release my lenses. I did exactly that, wasted more time going to another appointment, got cleared by the ophthalmologist, at which they told me this was the silliest thing they'd ever heard and there's no reason I shouldn't have received my lenses, and brought the note back a month later -- only to then be told America's Best Doctor ALSO had to clear me before releasing my contacts . HUH? Why was I sent somewhere else and told to get medical clearance if you still weren't going to release my contacts afterward? This entire process has been frustrating, confusing, time-consuming, and poorly communicated from the beginning.

Visits are quick and enjoyable, and my prescriptions are always exactly right. On my most recent visit I selected 2 frames and the second pair had a odd defect in the lenses that created a halo effect when light shined into them. Nothing looked wrong when examining the lenses in regular light, but the staff believed me about the halo effect and immediately reordered the lenses for me (which came in perfectly the second time). I can't adequately express how highly I think of Dr. Harrison and the entire staff. Anyone within driving distance to Gig Harbor should consider using this optometrist.

She then told me she had a store full of people and didn't understand what I was trying to explain. When I tried to clarify, she responded, "That's exactly what I just said," in a rude and hurtful tone. I'm only returning to pick up my glasses because they're already paid for, but I won't be visiting this location again. To make matters worse, she called back afterward and didn't offer any kind of apology.

This place is a subpar racket where subpar doctors provide inadequate care while they pick your pockets. Islanders should go elsewhere.
