My appointment was confirmed by phone call 2 days prior and I was assured that there would be no issues, and that my insurance would be accepted. Upon entering I was not greeted, I was gawked at and immediately judged. The employee pictured, took one glance at my insurance card and rudely said, WE DON'T TAKE THAT HERE, BUT WE HAVE GOOD DEALS HERE! Nevermind that I had an intial appointment for an eye exam and to be fitted for contacts. She spoke over me, and made condescending comments as I tried to speak. She asked if there was an E in my name 5 times as if to try to get a rise out of me. But I kindly responded in the same kind tone each time I was asked. I tried to explain that I had a confirmed appointment, and that I was told that there wouldn't be an issue with my insurance because it had been accepted for other people who went to this location. But she wasn't having or hearing that. Horrible experience, vile employee. Never Again!!!

Then I buy glasses that were insanely priced but I wanted to help out a small business so I thought it was worth it. After I get the glasses they were way too tight and I tried to get them adjusted but they told me my face was too muscular and that's why they didn't fit. Which is crazy because I have a very tiny head so how are normal people fitting into the glasses. Well I tried to return them and they were trying to talk me out of it. I know they we're trying to run out the clock so that I couldn't return them. Well after I finally did I bought a pair at Costco but Bridgeport wasn't done with me yet they never called my insurance to refund my benefits. So after Costco very kindly explained to me that they couldn't do anything and that Bridgeport needed to refund my benefits I called Bridgeport asking them to do that I'll give you a play by play "Bridgeport vision how may I help you?" " hi I bought a pair of glasses from you guys and I returned to them and I went to go buy another pair of glasses somewhere else and they told me that you guys hadn't re-funded my benefits yet through my insurance so I was wondering if you could do that" " no we don't do that here you have to do that yourself" " oh well Costco told me that you guys had to do it and that I couldn't" " we don't do that here" So after that I called my insurance company who was extremely upset with Bridgeport for making me call because I shouldn't have been involved in this part of the insurance. They called Bridgeport and basically scolded them for not doing their job and trying to keep the money away from me. So yeah my experience was horrible.

Place was clean and welcoming. The doctor was fast yet efficient which was nice. They have this new technology where they hold up the iPad/tablet to your face with the frames on. It takes your measurements instead of relying solely on self measuring. That way it's accurate, HOW COOL IS THAT! My glasses came in so fast too not the week they had originally given me. My only down side would be not having a hard case or glass cleaner pad when given the glasses. It comes in a baggie and apparently the baggie can be used to clean it as well which didn't quite work for me. Luckily I have an old cleaner that works fine. Would still definitely recommend!

I decided to go to this LensCrafters a few days later to order the glasses that I wanted and the customer service was truly top tier. I wanted to order a pair of glasses from Lenscrafters, but the first location I went to did not measure my pupillary distance and told me they would charge me $20+ to measure my pupillary distance. So I called the Tacoma location up and told them the situation. They told me they would be happy to measure my pupillary distance for free and order my glasses for me so I don't make any mistakes while ordering. When I walked into this location, I was immediately greeted with smiles and positive energy. Even better... they had the glasses that I was looking at in store (unlike the other location), so I could try them on and see how I liked them. I LOVED them! They went ahead and ordered them for me and I was on my way. Afterwards, I noticed that it was kind of stupid of me to not add on blue-light protection and anti-glare lenses. I went back to the store and asked them if they could update my order and they said yes! When the glasses were done being made, they shipped it to my house. I am absolutely in love with my glasses and I could not be happier. They fit perfectly (not too tight and not too loose) and the quality of my vision is truly better when I am wearing them! I am BEYOND happy with this Lenscrafters and I 100% recommend them to anyone who is in the market for a new pair of glasses that are good quality and will last you a long time. Also, since it was around the holidays, Lenscrafters claimed that it would take 2-3 weeks, if not longer, to get my glasses made. It actually took them less time than was estimated, as they were super efficient! Definitely ask for Maria if you go! She is super fabulous and will make you feel confident about the whole process!

Where as a VSP member my insurance was supposed to go further with agreed pricing, rebates, and discounts. I got nothing! First off the front end staff were all rude and monotoned. They did not even blink their eyes. That's a bad sign meaning they are going to give you rehearsed lines and screw you. When it was time to pay for everything they wanted $60 for the exam and $160 for a half year of contacts. For a year everything would have cost over $400 after insurance. I am doubly covered. Well covered. Every other place that I have been to with VSP agreed pricing and discounts I would only pay under $40 for everything. If I include glasses every thing would have been just under $100! Not 400! I told them they were over priced. They just stared at me with blank looks and gave me a rehearsed line. I paid the $60 exam fee, asked for an online prescription, and left.

They…read morehave appointment booking capability from their website, however, I was already at Costco when I decided to pop in to make a new patient appointment. They were able to get me in within the same week! The receptionist was helpful and friendly, with the ability to answer my questions regarding insurance and what the eye exam entailed. I opted for an appointment that would give me both my glasses and contact prescription. The day of my appointment, I filled out a quick questionnaire to establish my care as a patient, and one of their techs performed the initial eye exam ($40 out of pocket, covered by certain insurances, but a very important eye exam as it checks your eye health). Dr. Kathy Kim was the optometrist I saw the day of my appointment. She began with asking if I had my glasses with me ('dOh, I forgot to bring them!) but I was able to tell her the power of each eye from a prescription from 1.5 years ago before I moved to Tacoma. Th usual eye exam commenced, with having to read the letters with one eye, and then the other. Dr. Kim mentioned the slight astigmatism that I've heard I've had for a while, but hadn't been corrected by other optometrists/ophthalmologists. She gave me the option to do the regular contacts I was accustomed to, but also suggested trying toric contact lenses to adjust for the astigmatism. Dr. Kim explained that these type of lenses would reduce squinting, and help with driving at night, reducing glare. Her receptionist was able to give me trials for both the regular contacts with my updated prescription (same day), and ordered trial torics which came in several days later. What I loved about Dr. Kim was her demeanor. She was professional, and able to build a great rapport during the quick 15 minute exam! She allowed me to look at the eye health screen (your vision is priceless, it's worth the $40!) and let me know that they have a 90 day follow up policy to have the lenses adjusted, should I not love the trials before ordering my contact supply. 5/5 highly recommend! (P.S. I don't believe you need a Costco membership to utilize this clinic in Costco).
