I keep checking because I've done this a couple of times, and everyone is always so happy to share their thoughts and help me narrow my options down. You can tell that this isn't just a place to work, it's truly a place where they all want to be and are always happy to help. On top of all that, I love the humor of this place! If you are looking for a stuffy, boring "is this better 1, or 2" this place is still who you should choose, but you might not like the jovial nature of the office. We've been here twice and have purchased nothing. We were touring the state, last year, and decided to stop in. Upon realizing there was nothing I could use and nothing small enough to fit my wife, we apologized to the women working there. "Omg, don't apologize! We're so glad you stopped to take a look. We hope you come back on your next visit to Michigan (we live in Alaska) even if it's just to say hi!" This year we came back and brought a cousin, Deborah and our two Vegas friends we've known since high school. They loved the shop and the women working that day. Deborah actually found a blouse for an informal wedding the next day. Our friends seemed to land in clothing Mecca. Two outfits each and she walked off with new shoes and various ladies things. An employee was working in the clearance, and she kept pushing into my back as I looked. I moved back, and then she said, "Oh, sorry. I didn't see you there." Yeah, okay. When I found what I was looking for, it was priced $75, but online it's priced $20.99. I put it back and went to look at my size on the other side of the clearance. As I started walking, another employee walked right for me and did not attempt to stop. I stop short of us crashing into each other. She says nothing and continues on her mission. I put the sweater back and left. This is an excellent example of why your stores are failing. The elitist attitude of Torrid employees is so gross. It's their world. What is the deal with the prices!? It's like self-sabotaging. I'm done trying with this store.

My initial thoughts were that I probably couldn't afford to shop there, but I thought I would give them a look. I am so glad I did. They have a full range of equipment and prices, from beginner to true audiophile. While they physically just can't offer the wide range of offerings one could find while looking at an online warehouse, they have done a fantastic job of filtering out the "also rans" and selecting the best items at each price level. The items they do offer are very highly rated and reviewed. Items they sell are available on display to see, feel, explore, and HEAR. I knew how things worked, what the capabilities were, what it felt like and what it sounded like. The owners were extremely helpful and patient with me, they were interested that I felt right about my new equipment, and there was no pressure or upsell. They also helped me understand the proper setup and functions of my new stuff. The worry about how I might return something if it wasn't right was gone completely. I was happy and I could take the item home with me that day. The very best part? I PAID LESS! I got hands (and EARS!) on experience, expertise to help me understand the setup and functions of my equipment in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, all at a lower price than I would have had I ordered online. Their prices were equal to, or lower than, ANY price I could find for the same new equipment. I am not associated with The Listening Room in any way other than being a VERY satisfied customer.
