The girl at the counter didn't know how to process my health insurance and had me waiting in the lobby for an hour and a half. She had me calling them then she called them and then called them again. It was super disorganized. I never even got to take the eye exam that I made an appointment for and then she said I could take it for $89 without insurance but with insurance it's $10 so make it make sense. I declined and left the store an hour and a half later. A second star for the very nice staff in the glasses side of the store. They were very professional and competent. They were even confused on why the gal at the eye exam counter couldn't figure out my insurance when they literally had it pulled up with my plan but because the doctors office 'processes things differently' I wasn't able to get the exam at all. I really hate when people waste my time and even if it was a possible website error, they literally had my insurance on file in the glasses side of the store and I feel like she could have billed me after, or accepted the copay of $10 up front.

That's not to say that Clarkson is bad, but I don't believe the doctor's have as much say over the staff since they are Clarkson employees (at least that is my impression). The main lobby looks nice and is well lit to help with seeing how glasses would look on you. Generally, staff are helpful and friendly. While waiting for a family member's appointment, I noticed at least 2 employees had parked right in front of the main lobby doors. It seems like it might be best to leave those for customers. Appointments are about 3 months out, so certainly nothing last minute if it is important. Still, Dr. Major takes time to talk and answer questions. Nice to still have in this era of assembly-line medicine.

He discovered that that this frame is no longer sold, but said that I might be able to find them on-line. I was able to purchase a pair on e-bay. I took the new frame back to Terry, and he switched my lenses to the new frame. The process was quick and efficient.
