....honestly don't think it's as "ghetto" as people make it out to be lol.. the store is always pretty well organized which I can appreciate. It's pretty big so you will find basically anything you can think of there like any other large walmart. The only issue I have with this store are the employees !! There are definitely some very polite and helpful people working there don't get me wrong. BUt I kid you not on more than one occasion when I have come to this specific store I have heard employees arguing with one another and being straight up catty, childish, and disrespectful to a fellow coworker. It is so ridiculous and so careless how they would speak to another employee like that in front of a customer like it is nobody's business . I have also asked for help a few times and been told to wait while they get someone from that department over to help me and nobody has showed up, I have even went and asked a second employee the same thing and been told to wait again while nobody shows up after several minutes. Soo yeah they get two stars for 75% of their employees being terrible. And their grocery department is a bit disappointing compared to other Walmart's that I have been to so I would recommend doing major grocery shopping at one of the many supermarkets nearby . read more

I called the Modesto CA super center on McHenry Drive to find out if they carry a Magic Jack phone. I got the Cusromer service after about 6 rings. When I told her what I wanted, she didn't know what it was and I couldn't understand what she was saying because she sounded like she was from a foreign country. I had to have her repeat everything. Finally she said she would connect me to the right department, so the phone rang and rang & no one answered. She came back on line twice again with the same results, ringing and ringing that seemed like forever. Finally she must have gone to the department while I waited again. When the guy from the department finally came on line, I couldn't understand what he said either because of his forign accent. He had to repeat everything he said in order for me to finally understand. By this time I had been on the phone for 20 minutes. Why do they have people who can't speek english as customer service people? Where do they get these people from anyhow? That is not how they should treat their customers. read more

Putting aside the disorganized, cluttered shelves or the fact that nothing has price tags and it is impossible to find anything because of their layout that makes no sense whatsoever, the staff at this store alone make me want to run in the opposite direction. During one visit the sales associate checking us out started playing with my 8 month old son sitting in the cart. She decided to "entertain" him she would flash her scan gun in my son's eyes. Nothing like laser beams in your baby's eyes to leave a bad taste in your mouth. Out of sheer desperation I was forced to return again. This time a different check thought it was appropriate to pick his nose and then touch my baby's face. When I went to costumer service to complain I waited 25minutes for a manager and ended up speaking to someone that looked like she was fresh out of High School claiming to be a manager. Upon questioning she admitted she was "only sort of a shift leader". When I told her about my experiences she actually asked, "so, I don't understand, what's the problem?". This Walmart has been here for years, aside from their reputation of not being very clean, the employees or a lot of them are SCARY. I was in the electronic section the other night and two employees were talking about personal matters and using the F word very freely. I asked for some assistance and the one guy said I don't work in this department but he does and pointed over to the other guy, and the other guy just looked at me with a blank stare. He didn't know what I was talking about and pointed me to another guy who actually had some professionalism about him. I had ordered an iPad on their website for home store pick up. This Walmart was supposed to email or text me when my order was ready to be picked up within four hours, but I never got such email or text. I went out of my way to come to the store(I live out of town)to get this iPad. The gentleman said he would go look in the back but the system hasn't been working all day, I only wish that someone there would have called me to inform me of this. Meanwhile as I'm waiting for him to check in the back, another employee from another department came up and was chatting with a customer and she was also using the F word freely. She was talking about how you have to go to this place for happy hour cause they have really good effing drinks that get you effed up so you got to make it to that happy hour.. I knew she was an employee because she had a price gun in her hand. I understand the customers that go there on the 15th to spend their checks who arrived in their pajamas are a usual sight to see there, but the employees are atrocious! I thought the Ceres Walmart was bad with its tweeker employees, but Fulkerth is the worst with its Vato/Chola employees. They act like gangsters- cuz they prob are. THE most ghetto store I've ever been to on this earth and i have traveled quite a bit in 3rd world countries. Just disgusting. Dirty, messy, crowded, badly lit and bad layout. Not a single helpful employee here. I was forced to make a few emergency purchases here recently. Generally I try to avoid this store but sometimes I just can't. Lines do not mean registers will be opened to accommodate. Staff will walk right by you and ignore you on a regular basis. If you ask for help it's always "sorry, that's not my department" "i'm just a stock person" or "let me get someone". Last night when I had to go there, I asked 2 people to help me. The first told me he was working only in stocking. He didn't even offer to find someone for me. He just pretended I didn't exist after telling me basically it wasn't his job. The second said, "let me get her." and disappeared. She returned with a 3rd who finally helped me. Then they both wasted more of my time by arguing about who should have helped me right in front of me. Oh, and their restrooms are completely disgusting. If I had a store, I'd be embarrassed that these things were transpiring in it, but I guess it's Walmart and should be expected. UPDATE 8/17/2014: Unfortunately had to go into this horrifyingly awful, badly run store once again to buy an item for business that was needed immediately, could not wait for a time I could get to a different location to purchase. After standing in line for 20 minutes, I and about 10 other customers were told we would not be helped because the register was closing. They just announced it out of nowhere. Several people tried to complain but the manager, Jeff who ordered the register to be closed JUST IGNORED their pleas. He walked right by all of us as if not hearing a word anyone was saying. All other registers that were open, fewer than half of them, had lines a mile long and no attempt to help us after we had been there for such a length of time was made by any employee there, as was to be expected by this staff that I have had customer service issues with in the past. I tossed the items I was going to buy to the side and left. I refuse to shop at this awful store with its awful management, ever again. read more

I went shopping here (or at least tried to) and it was one of the scariest, worst experiences I've ever had at any store. Even any Walmart. I was with my husband, and our two children. First, they don't have a very big selection of produce. Fruits and vegetables you would expect to be at any store, just weren't there. I thought that was strange. Secondly, the isles are SO small! Two carts side by side can't make it down the rows, so people park their carts on the outside of the rows, and walk into the isle to pick what they need. People were reaching and grabbing for things all around me. My husband said he felt as if we were in the zombie apocalypse and people were scrambling for all the food. Next, tableware. They had NONE. I needed some microwave safe bowls and the employee looked at me and said "microwave safe? Uhh, we don't have those". I thought he was just an idiot to be honest, but he was right. There weren't any. The floors were really dirty.. I reached for a gallon of milk that had a long black hair wrapped around the jug.. There was toilet paper stuck to dirty spots on the ground... Also, a store employee said my 3 month old was very cute and proceeded to touch her face in her infant carrier. I asked her to please not do that because of germs and because she was a new baby. she was very offended and scoffed at me. I just hated my experience here. We left after 20 minutes of anxiety. Second time coming here. Pros: a lot of good stuff to buy and bunck of clothes on sale,super sale. Cons: customer service SUCKS! I will never get tired yelping all wamart i experienced wOrSt customer service so maybe they can do soemthing about it. I went in to buy a child's bike and my experience was AWFUL. I was waiting for 20 minutes because apparently not one of their associates is able to get a small bike off the top rack. I asked for assistance 5 different times and it was even announced over the loud speaker. Not one worker came to help. I ended up leaving empty handed and will take my business elsewhere. My walmart 1 hour photo center experience today was horrible the customer service was a joke! First I was sent to get in line at the layaway area and the employees refused to stop their Christmas discussion to ever look at my 1 hour photo receipt then after waiting 30 minutes in line I was told to go back to the photo center and had to wait for them to actually print my photos. After paying to expedited 1 hour photos I wound up waiting over two hours and was treated horribly. Never again! read more

I went for an oil change and asked for synthetic oil. I was told they ran out of the bulk synthetic oil prices at $44 and had to pay for the bottle service at $54 which was unfortunate but fine. They asked if we would agree to having them change the air filter and windshield wipers if they felt it was needed. We ask for us to be notified before doing so and they said they wouldn't be able to contact us and wanted us to confirm before they start. A standard synthetic oil change is good for six months and when we got in the car, the sticker stated we needed to come back in 3 months or 3k miles. 3 months or 3k miles is the standard for regular oil! We were charged for the synthetic oil but the sticker clearly showed the due date to reflect regular oil. We drove back to speak to them and they stated the computer automatically generates the sticker and they have no control which is why we believe they actually only put regular oil instead of the synthetic oil. We are not comfortable ever going back as we feel we have been lied to and cheated. The employees confirmed synthetic oil typical is for 6 months and refused to confirm the oil change they completed was good for any more than the 3 months that was stated on the sticker. This is misleading as the sticker did not state what the original mileage or date of oil change was. Customers that don't pay attention to this are being cheated! read more

I was in here the other day getting some random supplies, one being red shorts. I told the lady at the fitting room 'excuse me, I have a question.' I waited for her to be like 'yes?' No. Nothing. She just looked up at me and waited. Ok. Whatever. Then I'm looking at carpet freshener and a worker putting stock on shelves came right behind me trying to get right where I was to put things away. Like excuse me. Am I in the way. Ask me to move!!!!! Don't just push in. Then I'm in the kid section and I go to turn the corner and a lady Rams her cart in front of me so I went behind her the she just stopped, left the. Art in the middle, and did her work. Excuse me. I really don't like going to Wal-Mart unless I absolutely positively have to go and even then I usually pay a couple of bucks more and go to Target. To start with there are always a ton of people there and the store is a mess. When looking through the clothes some of them are scattered all over the floor off the hangars. The place is real messy merchandise all over the foors in several places. The employees have a lousy attitude usually but there are a couple of people that work there that I do look forward to seeing when I do go. The restrooms are really bad, i mean baaaaaaaaaadddddddd I went in there one time and out of 3 stalls 3 were trashed. One had all of the toilet paper in the whole bathroom shoved into one toilet. The next stall had no seat covers (those were shoved into the toilet next door too and the seat would give Freddy Krueger nightmares for the rest of his life. The handicapped stall was the worst. The crap was piled over the seat and smeared all over the place. On the walls, on the floor, and all over the toilet. Went and told management and was treated with a who cares attitude. Went to have my oil change done and they got more oil on the engine than they did in the engine. Another fun aspect of Wal-mart is the linguistic adventure of walking through the aisles. Its like the trade center of the world. (Actually I enjoy this part hearing different languages but it can be disturbing sometimes.)
