Visiting town and had to get a tire patched and oil change. Figured I'd go to Walmart to get both done at once. Bad choice. Tire patch was fine but after leaving I had a very bad oil leak. I took it back and they said they forgot to wash it and then sent me back home. The leak continued and I had to take it back in for a 3rd time. This time the manager was there and insured it was fixed properly. At no time did they offer a refund or coupon for the next time. They apologized, but it would've been nice to get a refund, especially since I had to buy my own cat litter to clean the mess the leak made and I had to make three trips instead of one. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This store has locked up everything from deodorant, lotions, to a simple chapstick. You can't shop without a personal shopper unlocking and collecting your items to lock and box up. And they don't just give you a personal shopper. This is a descent Wal Mart. It has the essentials and more. Bought my mother a tv for her bday and we are waiting friend to mount it for her and they will put the cords inside the wall. Makes it all neat looking. She likes it so far and was thrilled. The salesman helped get it to the car for us and he was friendly. The salesman and saleswoman in electronics are very friendly!!!! I was also able to find a large bath mat for my moms bathroom as she could use a new one that's longer and wider. They definitely had them here as compared to other places that don't. I had to go back to get a item I had forgot to put in my bag & had my receipt & went to customer service area but as I approached the guy had to go take care of the Valley Children table & leaning me to wait which was sooo wrong ( it was the manager, DOM.., finally he come back & I told him what happened & said they have to view camera I understand that especially with Walmart theft rate. so he ok it & told me to go get my item which I did but along the way I grabbed additional items I needed. Went back to customer service & after waiting for a very long time , the manager DOM should have called in for additional help. By far some of the slowest staff ever. You can tell they don't care at all. I stood at a cabinet for over 5 minutes because the person who works in that area can't open the cabinets, how about give them the key. Why do I have to wait for someone on the other side of the store or whatever she was doing. And then there was only 1 or 2 lines open. I just moved to Tulare and this is the closest Walmart to me and I am pretty sad about it. Compared to almost every other Walmart, this one barely has anything. There's no DollarSection which was always my favorite to look around. They have a vary limited grocery section. No fresh veggies, barely any fruit (only basic bagged fruit like apples, bananas, oranges), and they don't carry a variety of milk or coffee creamer. Not to mention when almost every other Walmart has sales, this store doesn't. I usually make the drive to neighboring Walmarts instead. read more

This crap hole of a place wouldn't get 1 star if I didn't have too, to leave a review. First- this week I took in someone to get a SIM card and said hello to an associate she wouldn't even look at me, didn't say hi and said someone else will be with you shortly. She was delivering stuff to the electric section. Then. I ordered two tires a couple weeks ago each valued at close to $509 each and I didn't pick them up in time so I received an email stating they were sending them back. I got an email tonight at 8:52 saying that I had picked up my 1 $500 tire while the other one was returned. Obviously it wasn't me. I've been trying to call the store the last 2 hours no one will pick up in any department. This place is a poop hole and needs to rid all its employees and let the robots and customers check themselves out because obviously they aren't capable of doing the easiest tasks as in answering a phone or checking an ID when someone is picking up a high value order. I'm writing this review on behalf of my son's experience tonight. He asked for assistance in the garden area and was told that someone would be there in a few minutes to help him. My son is a very patient person so he waited 30 minutes and no one came to help him. He went to the front check-out area and asked again for some assistance in the garden area and was told again to wait a few minutes. After 15 more minutes of waiting he paid for the few items he had and left the store. He said he was use to this treatment and shrugged it off. That raised my blood pressure way up! I failed to find even one redeeming quality about this location beyond that it is a store and you can shop there. Otherwise, let me recount for you the latest incident experienced, which I'll call the "lost wallet fiasco." My wife, her sister and I had already made the mistake of shopping here during the after-Christmas rush. Products were strewn across the aisles, exhausted-looking employees avoided our approach and the lines at both the registers and for returns were unfathomable. When we had finished what we came for, my sister-in-law discovered that her wallet (more like a clutch) had gone missing. It contained many irreplaceable valuables. She quickly retraced her steps and to her great relief was informed by a passive clerk in the dressing rooms that it had been discovered and taken up to Customer Service. But Customer Service said a wallet had never been brought to them, so my sister-in-law returned to the dressing rooms, spoke with someone else and heard the same story. Back and forth she went, with each department giving different stories and not bothering to communicate with the other because they were "busy" with long lines. We spoke to the manager up front. We called the next day. The wallet that one employee swore was passed on to Customer Service had simply vanished into thin air in a few minutes time. I fault the scuzzy Tularians who frequent this Walmart as much as the store. Only in a city this backwards would someone (possibly an employee) steal someone's wallet which contained little cash but some obviously sentimental and un-replaceable items and identification. read more

I love WalMart but recently had a bad experience trying to make a return recently. I purchased a car battery at the Martinez location and was told we could return it within 90 days. We brought the unused, brand new battery back to the Tulare location since we ended up not needing it. And we were told that they won't take battery returns after 30 days. The receipt says nothing about this and I was told at the front register that this is the store policy on most items. No exchanges, refunds, returns... So I guess I have an extra battery now in case I ever need it. The dates are on the batteries that they are selling on the shelves, and many of the batteries had 2011 dates or dates from around the same time as mine (Feb 2012). So trying to get an explanation of why they wouldn't take it back was impossible. We were told they can't resell an old battery. But obviously that makes no sense. I'm writing to complain of a particular cashier of Walmart Tulare. Her name is Iona and she is unfriendly, unhelpful, rude, lazy, and shouldn't work in retail anywhere! My experience started while we were at the cash register. We went to this Walmart to shop and found some good deals on electric scooters and some books that are on clearance. The trouble started when we approach her line. She needed to scan the scooters so we asked her if she needed help lifting up the boxes and she didn't even acknowledged we even asked her. Attitude? Yes!!! She was so rough toward the items in our cart. Then one of the books didn't scan the price correctly so we asked her to double check for us but her response was "I'm not the one adjusting the price" Rude? Yes! So we decided to let it slide and check our receipt later when she is finished. Once she is finished she handed us our receipt and didn't even say anything to us. Unfriendly much? Yes! We checked the receipt and asked her to check or modify for us, and she pretended she didn't hear us and just moved on to the next customers and told us "move your cart out of the way" hmmm but she wasn't done helping us. At last she asked another cashier to take us. One cashier was busy so another one ended up helping us instead. He was super friendly, helpful, and understands that mistakes happen sometimes with the system. So he adjusted our price with no problem. It was about 5 dollars difference. It's not the price that I'm annoyed at. It's the fact that we received bad service from a cashier who shouldn't be working in retail or customer service at all!!! GO TO TARGET! Cashiers name was Rachel or Melody Nino (idk it's on the receipt), she was very rude and unprofessional. I went to go buy groceries with my brother, and I am 19 so I'm not allowed to buy alcohol, I understand that...so my brother who is (25 and showed his valid ID) wasn't able to buy a bottle a wine for our family party because I was with him? Even though we had a different transaction!! I've worked in markets, and being a cashier we only ask for the ID, check expiration date, birthday, and see if it's the same person that has the ID, also a minor cannot pay even a penny when it comes to alcohol. Which, I did not do. Once again it was a separe transaction, and to be honest my brother or I don't even drink! Also, she was looking at us if we were going to be drinking and doing illegal stuff, WOMAN HE'S MY BROTHER! They had three Hispanic minors between the ages of seven and thirteen soliciting for money in front of the store. There was no adult supervision and the children took rejection personally. When I declined to donate, the girl called me rude and resorted to profanity. When I contacted Walmart's Customer Service how I was greeted, they stated they would take care of it. After I made my purchase, the children were inside by the exit. They continued to solicit for money, stating "[the donations] will go towards something." Walmart did not do anything regarding these underage solicitors and their attitude towards people who do not want to donate.
