Unfortunately Sam Walton's (the founder) vision and mission has been diluted! The stores especially this one has lost Mr. Walton's DNA. He was known for his vision of providing low prices and great customer service. Some of this lack of customer service has also spilled over to Sam's club stores. Their blue vests shouldn't say "how may I help you" It could actually say "don't bother me because I don't know"... or buy some of their responses "I don't care". People are willing to pay more genuine customer service. Every four to five months I pop in and it's worst then the time before. Today's cashier could not speak English when he was asked a basic question on stores return policy. Some use an app that the customer has to speak into in order to communicate with their personnel. Their team seems to be working in a survival chaotic environment and their frustration spills over rudely to their customers. read more

Ok if I need cleaning supplies. Produce is never very fresh. I'd rather pay more and get quality. To many cheaply made products.

For starters, requiring the employer to require the employees to speak American would be nice. Secondly, get qualified personnel to operate a cash register. Thirdly, stop displaying their products with the Spanish language facing out. This Walmart really is the worst the one in Tampa; second place is the Waters Ave location. It's completely disrespectful and shameful for Walmart to allow this. American speaking customers cannot communicate with the employees. Can't even ask where the "dog leashes" are. Pros: This is one of the better Wal-marts in North Tampa for getting Marvel Legends and Transformers. Of the Wal-marts I check out, they were the first to have SIEGE Transformers Wave 3 and 4, the G1 Soundwave/cassette reissues, and the 80th anniversary ML figures. Decent customer service. I've shopped the Walmart at this location for several years, and have always found what I was looking for or what I needed. About a month ago they started a remodel of the store. During this remodel isles were closed. Shelves were empty and in many cases what I was looking for was unavailable. Now that they are nearing completion of the remodel, it is an abysmal mess. If this is somebody's idea of how to improve the shopping experience, they have failed completely. It is as though they took everything in the grocery section, threw it in a big bin, shook the heck out of it, and then dumped it out and where it landed is where they put it on the shelf. Now certain items that used to be in the same aisle are now aisles apart and it is very difficult to find what I need. I will not be shopping at this Walmart anymore. Terrible experience. read more

Come here only as needed when I cannot find something at Target or Walmart is a bit cheaper. But really they have become my last resort. Like that you can order online for free pickup but they really need to overhaul and improve this system. At other stores I can order online and pickup same day.....not at Walmart! And the pickup counter at this location is only open during certain hours. So if I wanted to run in on my way into work forget it as the counter is not open. I ALWAYS have to wait when I come here for a clerk to assist me. There is typically never anyone at the counter and it takes them forever to gone once you ring the bell. Despite the mobile app offering the ability to check in before arriving to speed up the process. Being nice is not my forte so I'll be blunt, Walmart sucks. Negatives: 1) Service is not great, 2) Return policy is iffy;online purchases beware of 3rd party shipments (different return policies with shipping charges deducted from returns), 3) Not very clean. Positives: Two stars... 1) 1st star for decent pricing and having what I need last minute in most cases. 2) 2nd star is for the fact that people have jobs because Walmart is in business. Summary: I left a company where the culture went downhill. Walmart exhibits the same exact maladies the company I worked for did. The culture explains all the negative aspects I outlined above. Built in 1990 this is a smaller store and not a SuperCenter or a Neighborhood Market. So there are limitations on products and groceries. However there is a core of dedicated staff keeping the shelves stocked and working to help customers. The product line is deep enough to offer shoppers most of the things needed for their home or car. If you need something not on site you can order online and have it delivered to the store for your pickup. Same thing for items already in the store. Order online and pickup makes it a fast and easy experience. Make sure you have *the correct store address* for your delivery/pickup. Hiring good people in Florida has long been a challenge even years ago when I managed several state-wide companies. Given today's work ethics and health issues the workers who show up at this store have a commitment and will assist you when asked. The smaller size makes this review a 4 instead of a 5. I've shopped here for 10 years or more and the complaints I see in the reviews are usually correctible. I have more comments about the shoppers than the workers. I'll always be back. read more

Unqualified staff for photo prints. We just needed passport photos and we were in a time crunch. The lady tried taking pictures three separate times since she just couldn't get the camera to focus. Then she took forever doing color correction and went around asking for opinions from her manager or whatever. Had to miss lunch because of their terrible inefficiency, and the photos didn't even turn out that good. Not deserving of more than one star. read more

Small, old store, cramped, limited offerings especially food items. Usually only one checkout aisle open, the rest are self-checkout but plenty of staff around so it makes no sense. The customer service desk is nice, efficient. It is surprising they haven't updated this store-considering the large numbers of Carrollwood shoppers. They will not return/refund any clothing items due to China virus. Don't buy it unless you want to be stuck with it. Bathrooms fair as far as cleanliness. read more

Wal-mart....is Wal-Mart. Nothing special, just a place to hopefully run in, get your stuff, find a checkout line that has less than 15 annoyed people standing in it, and run out. For those of us that are in the 50+ age range, you'll remember Wal-Mart was 'the place!' to go for your household goods, sporting goods, tools, toys and even clothes for the kids. Their prices were much better by far than any other competitor, the stores were sparkling clean, super-organized, and the customer service was commendable. Those days are long gone. This location is not too bad. They fill the need, but I don't think many people look forward to the overall shopping experience. read more

This location isn't the best I've seen but it gets the job done. Staff aren't very helpful at all but what Walmart staff is? Thing that annoys me the most is that you can't move around without running into piles of products that should be stocked on shelves not on the floors. If this location wasn't so close to my house I'd never go there. This location is not a super Walmart that most of us are use to so it's very small compared to other locations. I guess I should not be surprised especially after reading the reviews. I started my journey with Walmart initially on line. But, when they would only send certain items I cancelled my order and decided to the store. BOY, what a surprise that the pricing is not the same. The items online were more expensive. How can that be--unless the hidden fees are for the shipping they are paying for. I would need to spend $35.00 to get free shipping. But, if you are not planning on shipping the items then I will find another place to purchase. Because on this special day WALMART was like WALMART. CRAZy!!!! I personally DISLIKE going into a Walmart. Store, is dirty cashiers are somewhat friendly. My feeling is if you are ordering online they should send you the items. There is no discount for you to order and pick the items up. Let's face it you are not getting a personal shopper. I'm no millennial whining over nonsense, I am an upstanding guy who expects a certain level of cleanliness. My wife and I stopped in late one night to pick up a couple things and to look at furniture. We had to navigate through the parking lot because of garbage and loose carts scattered everywhere. It literally looked like a tornado blew through it. Just trashy and when we went in the stereotypical walmart shoppers were there in droves. I'm talking people in underwear and/or strange acting and looking almost shaky or drugged up. To add to the oddities the aisles had trash on the floors. Very dirty atmosphere and yet still bought two things small and easy? No, the girl at the register had a weave that was down to her waist that she kept moving from her face which frustrated her but the real kicker was her nails were so long she couldn't type on her cash register screen. She actually got another person to do it because it was too difficult. All of this happened and is true. Florida seems to have a hard time firing people which doesn't fly up north. When you hire teens to twenty something you need to screen them better as they have no work ethics. I own a firm that in one year fired 13 out of 31 people because they couldn't or wouldn't meet par with our standards. Bad business read more

The prices are good but not like Walmart used to be. Walmart has the worst coupon policies out of any grocery store. But they have some good regular prices. For the groceries section, I can go to Publix, with coupons and when combined with their BOGOs I can get stuff cheaper than at Walmart so don't trust those commercials where they do the price comparison...they are only comparing normal prices, not including sales or coupons. I give the store a B on cleanliness. This particular store? I don't like it very much. Their grocery section isn't very big, just a few aisles. By far the most unhelpful, difficult Walmart's I've ever been too. Let alone the pharmacy has not once, ever, 4 for 4 times, gotten my simple monthly prescriptions ready correctly or on time let alone the right day. I drive to my parents hometown 25 min away to pick up my prescriptions because that's less of a hassle the dealing with this walmart. Open 24 hours, with no door to get into or anyone to check you out. 3 times I've left because I couldn't get inside and not like anyone is there to help you or tell you! I never write reviews, but I'm pretty bummed I have to drive 10-15 min to simply go to a walmart when I live literally 2 minutes from one! read more

I live next to this walt mart and thats the reason why I continue coming here, but from now on, Publix will be the place for my groceries. Always use the first cashier because I need to buy cigarettes and all the time I do the same thing but today I was told by Ana, not professional at all but I guess this is what Walt Mart hires, that the minimun of groceries was 20 items...(I had like 30) Hahaha Really? So, She made me pay the cigarettes in 1 transaction, and then I needed to go to other cashier to pay the rest??? Hahaha amazing ... I noticed some other reviewers commenting on the size of this Walmart and the small produce section, this is because this Walmart is NOT a super-center. It still has electronics, pharmacy, clothing, hygiene, etc...it is just a little smaller than the Walmart Super-centers and lacks a full grocery section that most people are accustomed to Walmart having these days. This store is a little older and isn't cared for the way it should be in my opinion. I used to go to this location a lot since it's the closest one to my house, but recently my husband and I have made the choice to shop across the street at Target instead because of the fact that we have seen 3 different people get arrested at this location on 3 different shopping trips, also, I recommend doing the self check out as many of the cashiers have major attitude problems and are incredibly rude. read more

Came into the store at about 12 AM hoping to make a one stop shop , fruit, laundry detergent and tobacco products for my husband. The unexcited checker told me I'd need to wait until everybody cleared her line to then be brought over to the tobacco checkstand, mind you this is Walmart so that's a good 30 minutes, after I've already just stood in line at midnight once.
