Putting my stuff on the conveyor, because i dont work there, cashier doesn't move it forward, so push it ahead so i can put the rest of my stuff up. Then she starts scanning, stuff is again building up against steak packages that i didnt want to tear. No bagger around.... So being the unpaid bagger, i start bagging my stuff before it gets damaged, because she isnt stopping, just keeps scanning and building up heavier groceries into the meat packages. No one comes to bag, so i end up bagging everything. So mad at this point. I then notice her scanning the on sale asparagus, which i tell her is $1.79/pd, she just says its per pound pricing. I tell her there are a total of 6. She puts her hands on one in the bag and scans and drops it on the belt. I clean my vegetables before storing, but still thats nasty. I pay, review the receipt, see a few errors. She comes over, as im now at customer service and asks if she made an error. I told her yes, she over scanned the asparagus, like i knew/watched her do and tried to tell her at the time. Its only $4.10, but its the point if her not caring about her job to do it right in the first place. I get my money returned and head to the fuel station. Put my card in, zero points. Receipt clearly says 229 points. So i out my phone number in, zero points. I take my receipt to the attendant, Patty. She asks questions, asks if its alright if i wait a few while she makes a call. She does so, gets me a temp number to use and says by tomorrow everything should be linked and correct. Patty, made this a 3 star experience instead if a 1. Patty, thank YOU, as i was already having a bad day/experience. Bring baggers back or at least have the cashier pay attention and bag as they go.

Fragrance glues itself to plastic and then imparts its chemical goodness to everything it touches. You carry food items people actually eat. Fragrance has no place being anywhere in this store. The restrooms, and a back office, are perhaps the only exception, but they're bad for you anyway, so just get rid of it. To be fair, I've bought bread and other items packaged in plastic from Kroger and other stores with the same issue. Fragrance is everywhere, and we're eating it, and I'm sure it's doing bad things to us.

Prices on meat have started to get a bit high, but that seems to be the case at most grocery stores lately, so I wouldn't take points away from them for that.

I noticed that in this store, as well as in the H-E-B store far north, they can both have the same hit or miss vibe. And the vibe is either very very friendly or very, very snobby. I'm not taking away points as this is not the store's fault. That's just the vibe that I get. With that being said, I can always find amazing items at both stores, especially this one. You cannot beat the stellar selection at the store. A couple of the items that I like to come here to get are the plumcots and John Kelly chocolates. Those chocolates are stellar. Of course, I will definitely be back to Central Market but it will never be the number one store for me because of said vibe . I do also want to add to be very careful when you're driving in the parking lot here because the spaces are tight and people drive really chaotic. I was going to bring one of their large 8" Berry Chantilly cakes to a birthday party in a few days…read moreso I came by to see if I could place an order for it. It was the 4th of July weekend so I wanted to be sure that this cake would be available. Sadly, I was told that they do not take orders for their cakes. Regardless, the salesgirl was pretty confident that one should be available. We came back a few days later and as I entered into the store a woman was walking out with one of the cakes I wanted. I held my breath and picked up my step and got back to the Bakery department. I was able to breathe as I found six of these cakes available for purchase. Whew! What a relief! My only suggestion is that they let you "reserve one" in advance. I would definitely pay in advance too, just to let them help me out by storing a fresh one for me. It was a bit stressful not knowing if they would have that cake available on the day I needed to pick it up. The packaging is pretty big for this cake. So big that it wouldn't fit in a traditional rectangular cooler. I had to put my cooler on its side and then slide it in. I carefully put the seatbelt through the cooler handle so it was snug. Since I was running a few errands on the way to the party, I wanted to make sure it stayed nice and cool. I brought the cake to the party and it was the star of the show! It was as beautiful inside as was the outside! Not too sweet, the cake was moist and had a slight almond flavor and fruity between the layers. I highly recommend the Berry Chantilly cake for all of your special occasions or just when you want a delicious cake!
