This one is a bit better than the one in Brampton. A little less hectic I find but maybe it was just the time of day I went there.

However, other than slight organisational differences, I still…read morecan't fully explain the difference between Winners. ;) Sections that I love shopping from are: Housewares (candles, looking at furniture), Gourmet Foods (tea/coffee - pretty cheap!, snacks), & Beauty Dept. I can shop at Marshalls without even glancing at the clothing section! This particular Marshalls, however, does NOT have a "Red Carpet" section which consists of designer goods. So based on that sheer difference alone, the Heartland location is much better! Even the shoes at this location were of inferior quality. Even though this location was dead, there was a bit of a wait in the communal line. Only 2 cashiers on duty, but the one who served me was quite friendly!

I was looking for a very very obvious coat / jacket d/t the distinct color. The "other Marshalls"…read morestores (I called a few in the GTA) had no problem looking up the size but, this location said " we no longer do floor checks". Clearly, this store's manager must have cataracts for it was not SAKS or Bloomingdales. Being "uppity" is NOT called for. A simple look down the coat isle was not going to hurt the sales person momentum at 2pm in the day. Future suggestions: 1. Be consistent with other stores. 2. Offer better customer service. Don't get arrogant many stores did e.g. Eatons, Sears, Mexx, Danier, Nine West, etc. 3. Get rid of the manager/ or coat section sale person.

The store itself is pretty spacious and well organized. It's not super fancy or anything, but it's clean and easy to navigate, which I liked. They have a mix of everything (clothes, home stuff, snacks, random finds) so you can just walk around and browse for a while. What really stood out to me was how many dupes they had. I had seen a video online highlighting all the cool things they sell at Giant Tiger and so I was influenced to go check it out. However, I wasn't expecting to see so many cool items. There were so many items that reminded me of more expensive brands, but for way cheaper! Prices overall are really reasonable, and you can definitely find some solid stuff if you take your time looking around. It's one of those places where you go in for one thing and end up finding a bunch of random things you didn't even know you needed. The staff were also so nice and useful in helping me find items around the store! Overall, I had a really good first experience. I'd definitely go back again just to see what else I can find.

Canadian Tire

I've lived in Georgetown for over 40 years. It's not until my daughter married a black man that I…read morebegan to understand how visible minorities get treated. Unfortunately Canadian Tire Georgetown is no exception. All of the full time staff are local Georgetown residents, and white. The store associates practices 2 different c/s standards. One standard for the white residents which they personally know, and another standard for everyone else. My daughter worked at this Canadian Tire a few years ago, and she can confirm first hand how people are treated. For example, if you're one of the older white demographic in the town you'll get much more preferential treatment than the unknowns. Full time store associates in this location have an attitude toward customers, specifically they do not enjoy or welcome interaction. Unless you're a local, and white of course they'll brush you off. On many occasions these same F/T store associates will assist known locals by spending an extraordinary amount of time not only showing them where the item is located, but even engaging in casual conversation while other 'unknown' customers wait to be assisted. Only to be given attitude and brushed off. My son in-law and I did a little experiment to prove this. On the same day we both visited the store at different times. We asked the exact same associate for assistance concerning the same item in the weekly flyer. I was escorted to the isle and provided with great assistance which included reviewing the product instructions, casual talk about the weather, and an invitation to receive any further assistance if I required it. When my son in-law visited the store a couple hours later, that same associate brushed him off by telling him she's not in that specific dept, and told him to go to the dept and find an associate in that dept there. When my son in-law returned back to the same associate who brushed him off, to advise he couldn't find anyone around in the dept. she told him the best thing to do is to go to c/s service so they could page someone. There is obviously a 2 tiered level of service in this store, and as a result I have chosen to drive to Milton Canadian Tire instead of going to Georgetown because I entirely despise systemic racism of any sort. Canadian Tire Georgetown better realize a large portion of new residents moving into the southern part of the town are minorities, and they are very nice family oriented people. For Canadian Tire Georgetown to mistreat newcomers to the town in this manner is completely unacceptable.

Okay, I've been here more times than I care to admit in the past month (10 and counting)…read more Staff here are incredibly helpful and will happily approach you to ask if you need assistance (and in my case, call me ma'am despite me not necessarily feeling like a 'ma'am', but I digress.) vast contrast from the Newmarket or even Brampton location(s). To prove that this kind of a customer service isn't a one-off, we went here twice during the Black Friday weekend and both times we were still asked by enthusiastic staff if there was anything they could help us find. We buy all of our cleaning products from Canadian Tire as they carry pretty much the entirety of the Method cleaning product line up, plus, they're actually surprisingly reasonably priced. I've yet to have an unenjoyable shopping experience and I'll definitely be here come Boxing Day to stock up on Christmas decorations for next year.

The manager said, "The package is open, the product is defective, and we cannot resell it. Give him a store credit." I was stunned. Unless I missed some major new scientific breakthrough, I am pretty sure a person has to open a product package in order to see it and try it. Am I wrong? And another thing - why is it my fault that the product is defective and they cannot sell it. I was told, "That is our return policy." And that was it. He shut me down. Very clever store policy. It is crafted to favour them and screw us. I took the store credit. I'll spend it. And then? I will never, EVER shop at Canadian Tire EVER again. Great job! One thing for sure, SO MANY SALE SIGNS! It feels like a third of this place is stocked with items that have been discounted...some as much as 75%! Lots of bins loaded with eye-popping deals. If you take the time look at comparable products and prices within a department, you may be able to get something with more features than an item that's on sale; smart shoppers know this! I didn't have to interact with staff on the floor but they seemed helpful with others. Don't forget to sign up for the Triangle Rewards program before going to checkout. I was able to quickly walk back into the main part of the SWB mall.
