This Wal-Mart is an average Wal-Mart. Their parking lots are huge so it's not that hard to find parking. Although, when it's busy, you may have to park a little farther but look on the bright side: you get your exercise! I was actually impressed with this Wal-Mart just because it was very tidy and well-maintained inside and the longs were surprisingly fast. I originally came in here to get some allergy medicine and I was able to find it quickly. If you want to get your nails done, they have a nail shop here and also if you want your pet to be groomed, they have services for that here.

Excellent bird food selection!!! I make an incredible recipes for the SUPER FEEDERS!!!

I will rate this experience 5 stars, the highest possible because I been going here for years with great success! The bird food selection is excellent! I have been blessed with unparalleled vision for deer and evil! ALL GLORY GOES TO GOD ... Without the Lord Jesus Christ I am nothing!

Gorgeous day today! Need to get in and out quick haha

Let's face it. It's pretty hard to find people that haven't been to Walmart. Many moons ago, I remember driving from Chicago to St. Louis, and you knew you hit another town when you saw yet another Walmart. If you are on the Internet at all (and I'm assuming you are, since you are reading this) chances are you've seen the many memes out there featuring some of this company's more... Ehm... Notorious customers. That being said, I enjoy writing reviews, and I lack the type of income that will allow me to simply visit every fine dining establishment near and far. I have a normal, ho-hum life, and this life necessitates a trip to Walmart fairly regularly. Now I know what someone out there is thinking. Go to Target! It's higher end! Less trashy! Now, while I love a good Target trip (as I am fairly certain there is something in the air in their stores which causes a woman's ovaries to tingle in just such a way that makes one desire to buy ALL THE THINGS) I usually head to Walmart as it's closer, and less expensive etc etc etc. NOW on to THIS Walmart in particular. It is one of the smaller ones in the area, so sometimes I feel like the Gurnee location, for example, may have a slightly larger selection. The Zion location was recently remodeled, however, so it really isn't that bad. If you've read any of my other reviews, you know I moved here from Chicago, and I am here to tell you that the Zion location, on it's worst day, is still infinity more tolerable than any store bordering the city on its best. At other locations, I may as well sit in a corner and rock back and forth sobbing softly to myself if I find myself in need of assistance. People at this location are generally willing to help (look for me somewhere in grocery, trying desperately to reach something on a top shelf. Very amusing, I promise!) and tend to walk around with less of that dead stare needed to avoid making eye contact with customers while walking around. Cashiers are typically friendly as well, which is nice when, like me, you have a ridiculously large order. (I have a cashier whom I have an ongoing conversation with, she remembers me by the amount of half and half I buy: thankfully, it's not something like anti-itch cream!) As with any other Walmart ever, there are pretty much only 2 registers ever open (not counting express or self checkout... If you are only grabbing a thing or two, you stand a much better chance of getting out quickly!) and on a busy day, the typical game of bumper cars ala shopping carts may be enough to head for the liquor aisle. But there is plenty of parking (if you are like me and willing to walk) and really, if you are in need of lots of oddball things, Walmart is probably the closest thing to a one stop shop.

They need to do a little less chatting to each other and start paying attention to the customers!

Typical Walmart store. Crowded at times but employees were good. Subway smelled great.

Customer Experience - Ross Waukegan, 1301 N. Lewis Ave To…read moreWhom It May Concern, I am writing to provide feedback regarding my recent visit to your Ross location at 1301 N. Lewis Ave, Waukegan, IL, on Sunday, January 26, 2026, approximately one hour prior to closing. Upon entering the store, I immediately noticed that the entrance area was slippery and unclean, creating a potential safety hazard. I nearly slipped in the doorway, which I found concerning, as most Ross locations I have visited typically have either a security officer or a store associate positioned at the entrance to welcome customers and maintain a safe environment. Once inside, I observed several issues impacting both safety and customer service. The store appeared disorganized, with numerous items out of place or lacking price tags. While I understand that this was during the last hour of sales, I was surprised by the lack of floor support or proactive assistance for customers. As I approached the checkout area, I noticed a significant line forming around the jewelry counter. I requested assistance from two store associates who were present but engaged in a personal conversation. When I asked them to assist a gentleman who was handling a line of more than eight customers, one associate informed me that staff members were on break. As someone with over 28 years of professional experience in customer service, leadership, and retail across multiple industries, I am aware that employee breaks are typically scheduled so as not to impact customer support or store operations. When I asked for her name and position, the associate refused to provide her name, stating only that she was a manager. Her demeanor was dismissive and unprofessional, which negatively impacted my experience and, I would argue, the overall morale and performance of the store. Eventually, another associate, who was on break and wearing her name badge, came to assist at the front, and I appreciated her effort. However, the initial interactions left a strong impression regarding the importance of staff accountability and professionalism. We are currently in a challenging economic environment, and every dollar spent by customers is meaningful. When a store does not value the hard-earned money of its clients or fails to provide the level of service customers expect, it risks losing them. Poor service can create a domino effect, ultimately impacting sales, customer loyalty, and team morale. I respectfully encourage your leadership team to reinforce policies regarding staff engagement, customer service, and floor coverage, particularly during peak or closing hours. Customers notice how staff are treated and how they conduct themselves, and these interactions directly influence repeat business. Providing the level of service one would expect as a customer is not just courteous -- it is essential to maintaining a strong, loyal client base. Thank you for taking the time to review my feedback. I hope it will be received constructively to support positive changes in staff conduct and overall customer experience at this location. Sincerely, Qiana langston

I am a huge Ross fan but good location needs some help especially with holiday season approaching…read moreit's only going to get worse. The store was a mess. Items in the wrong area and sizes. Piles of clothing and shoes all over. I feel bad for the workers because cleaning after people who don't hang things back up is yes unfortunate. I ended up finding an item but almost didn't get it because the line was backed up with only one cashier. There was another employee that could have jumped on the register to help but I guess they had other duties. Ross prices are going up so there's not even a real reason to shop there.
