The greeter staff at the doors enjoy their job and are friendly. I'm a go ahead and one up star this Walmart, simply because of the comparison to the other one in town. The folks at the Walmart in Terrace Heights are incredibly nice and do a good job of working with what they've got, this one is simply a lot cleaner and more organized. It feels much closer to A normal shopping experience then in being on people of Walmart.com. The people working upfront are always very friendly and more than happy to chat about the goings-on in town and in the store. We've often found they are a understaffed and as such the checkout process can be a little bit painful, just because it takes longer than expected. It also gives you an appreciation for those trips where the kids aren't along for the ride. Standard less than expected prices and a good amount of ancillary stuff up front - Gotta love the chance to get tires, groceries and your glasses all in one spot! read more

Your garden dept is a joke! They don't have enough people to open the doors...so they don't! If you need help there is never anyone handy you have to search and search for them because they are given assignments to get things done and customer service has never been a priority for management there - ever!!! Only women in the dept as the 1 man had to cover the cosmetic dept. This guy I have had numerous run ends with...he is so lazy! Hides out and never ever asks people if he can help you look for something. Jacob is his name!!! He has been there forever - why???? One time, he couldn't go outside and get shopping carts because he was on his break, with his drink, at the register and said, I'm on my break. Jesus! Today, I asked the clerk, Amanda, to help me with put a 2 cubic foot potting soil in my cart which she was very accommodating of her and I was buying 2. However after I paid for them she couldn't leave the register and she called for backup and Eric - a big, tall young man came and said he did not like what I said to Jacob at cosmetics and he would not take those potting soils to my car because he did not care for me bad-mouthing his friend. So, is this Walmarts standard because it sucks!!!! You can do better and I am tried of calling your managers and they never do anything about this problem. I've been pretty impressed with this Walmart - it's always been clean and uncluttered, unlike the other one! Yes, there are definitely some interesting people who frequent this store - but the store doesn't control that! I've been here for both groceries and automotive (new battery). The automotive is actually a pretty good deal for batteries. You can check their stock online which is fantastic. The price was about $20 less than a similar one for the auto parts store. Groceries are probably the best deal around. The produce is generally ok, but packaged stuff like crackers is dramatically cheaper than other competitors. Their price catcher portion of my their app also can get you back money if someone is selling an item for cheaper than walmart. Service is marginal, but that's what you generally expect here. When I have needed items, I've found someone and they've been willing to help. I'm yet to run into a rude employee at this Walmart, but the service counter is always a hassle (I'd probably be grumpy if I had to spend all day there too!) There is a self checkout that is great. I usually prefer these and there are 8-10 self checkout registers. I tend to go at off times to avoid lines, which has been fairly successful. If you are looking for the lowest prices around, it's hard to argue with the retail juggernaut that is walmart! read more

They have had a kitten stuck up in the rafters for eight days. Local rescue groups have requested to go in and get it, Walmart has refused. The city offered to get it, Walmart has refused. Animal control has requested to go in, Walmart has refused. It's been eight days, without food or water, people are picketing, and the store manager laughs at them and says she has better things to do than worry about a kitten! My daughter went to Walmart this morning since they had let it be known they had toilet paper. It got there when she did but it was completely sold out to 1 customer. My daughter watched her fill her truck with the full shipment. Be aware that if you have a smaller grocery order online. They are notorious for canceling them in leu of larger orders. Me and my neighbor now combine our orders. We did this after reading a reddit article about service issues with them. And chatting up one of the people doing the shopping for orders confirmed this. Been going to different stores for many years. This last trip was the final straw. I have dealt with rude checkers, bad customer service who just don't want to do their job, dirty, ghetto stores, and trailer trash people. Often customer service will act as if making a return is a real problem. It's my money, I'm not satisfied, so I want a refund. Recently I was leaving with a single item and had my receipt in my hand. 5 other people were walking out the door, no cart, just their items. Security asks for my receipt. Why? Do you have to show a receipt at the grocery store? Fred Meyer, Target, Lowe's, Safeway, etc never ask for it. Also, why did you only ask me for it, nobody else? I told him, very matter of fact, there is no law requiring it (I've looked, there isn't), and only Costco has ever asked, but it is in the contract you sign. I also asked why nobody else was asked for theirs? He said I don't have a bag. Why does that make a difference? My receipt was in my hand. I was absolutely singled out of a line, the only difference is my item wouldn't fit in a bag. Nobody had a shopping cart. A young (mid 20s), redneck hillbilly guy was in line and was all upset because I questioned why I was singled out. I told him to move on since it was none of his business. Apparently he felt like a big man glaring at me. After this string of events over the year, I will never spend a dime at Walmart again. Good riddance to this horrible company. My mom tried to do the Walmart pick up and we were supposed to be able to pick up our order between 7-8 pm Friday night. Well it is 8:50 pm the same night and we never got an email saying we can pick up our order and when we call we don't get an answer. I've been here a handful of times, when in town. I have to say, it's a huge place. You should be able to find whatever you are needing when on a trip. On top of it, it's clean. I have not had issues with long lines. I was there on a weekday, each time. The prices are reasonable, especially, if you forgot your pj on your trip to yakima. Well i sometimes help old people in homes go out and shop and today i took a women in who has a very hard time walking and breathing and when we asked the door ladys if we could have a mobile cart they were so rude and said "i dont know" with a shrug of the shoulder. Now the woman was already winded from just the walk from the car to the door and this worker was just ignoring that and told me i could check the other side of the store myself.. so i had to walk all the way to the other end of the store to be greeted with the same attitude and no cart. we actually had to ask a man who was leaving to use his. This is the hardest time ive ever had at a store with "disability access". What a completely gross, unclean place. The employees told my family on many occasions that they are under staffed and underpaid. They closed the fitting room early because they had no staff but a worker was at the location. Garbages were overflowing in the entry. We were almost ran over by the floor cleaner with a machine that acted like we were in his way. Spent over 500.00 on boating supplies and grocery's. We had a case of beer and the lady wouldn't sell the beer to us because my son was with my husband and I. She said she couldn't sell it if he wasn't of age. Are you kidding me? They were my grocery's. Do you have to leave your kid in the car if you happen to get beer with grocery's? We drove an hour to go here as we normally do one a month because we live in a remote town. Walmart used to be my favorite place to shop. I was so happy when the new supercenter opened so close to where I live. All that has changed. I am a short elderly retired lady trying to get by on a very small income so when I shop I look for items I can afford. Cat litter is not cheap so I try to find one that I can lift and that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. The cheaper ones are always out of reach so I have to ask for help .I.was struggling to get one down when a WM employee walked by and I asked him to help. I was told he was off duty and I would have to get help from someone else. Not good customer relations. I hope this is not policy because if it is then it really stinks to treat customers in such a rude way. It is getting to the point where WM is no longer the cheapest place to shop either.
