Conveniently located on Lake Cook Road in Wheeling! Able to find the items of interest. Staff was helpful. Checkout was quick. Other services available, brow salon and eye doctor for exams and lenses. It did not disappoint! Thank you!!

Heading out with a car full of groceries from Walmart Supercenter for the first time.

I'm impressed, very impressed. It's hard to impress me with a big box department store with groceries in it but the Wheeling super center is impressive. They have a grocery section that is on par with a major grocery chain, the only thing they lack is their own sushi department, which I would be apt to trying shortly after debut if it came to become something. They have a good selection of fish but could use more pre seasoned fillets in the selection. I found anchovies and other delicacies that are difficult to find at the local discount grocery chain without any problem and their giant cartons of eggs are something no house should go without for breakfast stock. I'd like to see more in terms of import foods, tofu and other Asian essentials would be nice. Maybe I overlooked them in the myriad of a selection of foods. I hate naming competitors but I'd say the selection of product was on par with a Kroger branded chain grocery store. While we didn't need much from other departments it was nice to find out that Walmart is now a good grocery one stop shop. Years ago I didn't have this opinion of them and thought selection was limited and things seemed unusually cheap. Now things are most definitely on par with large chain grocers. We had no trouble finding a checkout lane in their plethora of self checkout lines and they had regular lanes marked off as "Assisted Checkout" which struck a bit of a painful nerve with me. Elderly and disabled people don't need to be called out more and cashiers probably don't appreciate the oddity. A better wording would have been "Personal Checkout" or just leaving it as it was "Checkout" and "Self Checkout" was fine. The whole addition of assisted to it, kind of sticks in my craw. Since I can't take stars off by the half I'm leaving this a 5 star review but technically they get a 4.5/5 from me. Overall an A grade to A- grade store.

Yesterday I came here and I bought groceries for the whole month. It's been a month since I've been here because I'm too busy with my 1 year old baby and my husband will be the only one who will go here and do our groceries. Since my husband is at home and will take care of our baby I'm the one who will buy groceries. I Am familiar with this place and nothing has changed. They have different sections but dome inventory was not organized and some are empty. I just grab some milk, cereal, cookies, condiments, eggs, chocolate, chips, kitchen products, comfort room products and many more. I also went to the fruit and vegetable section. I think I bought everything I need. So I went to the counter and paid for it. While waiting for my turn I went to another area to buy a box of sushi.

Staff can be amazing especially at the deli counter. Selection is smaller because it is not a supercenter. Check out lines are usually long.

In need of household goods, we made the trek and figured there was at least a few options available. We were wrong, this place is not a typical grocery store. It's a food emporium, with tons of aisles and plenty of choices. Was surprised they didn't have any manned stations (meat, deli, and fish usually have someone there with fresh products). This place just has more aisles. And while we might have one or two cases of a specific type of item, you got full aisles. And not just one aisle, but multiple. And many different brands and types. It's impressive to say the least. The discover only for card payments was a little weird. But not an issue since they take cash. Price was fairly reasonable as well. All-in-all, a fun trek for a mundane task. If you need to find a product, check woodsman's. They probably got it

Grocery items are usually in stock and the Just For U deals can save you lots of money! I've had to return items here and there and the return policy is pretty user-friendly. Since the demise of Marianos, Jewel has become our primary grocery store. This Jewel and another I frequent meet all our grocery needs. According to Eric, the store is now set to close on August 8, moving up from the original closing date of August 22. That's just a month away! He mentioned that Kroger is swapping the closing date of this location with the one in Buffalo Grove. Eric assured me that he'll still have a job with the company, but his current commute is just one minute, and now, he doesn't yet know where he'll be reassigned. Even before hearing that the store would be closing two weeks earlier than expected, I was already feeling nostalgic. I've shopped at this Mariano's for over 10 years. It's huge, clean, and rarely overcrowded--maybe that's part of what hurt it from a business perspective. I've taken a few photos to help remember it, and I know I'll miss this place a lot.

The inside is clean, with some nicer displays and dining areas that I don't always see at Mariano's locations. The prices are fairly competitive, with plenty of items on sale though some require fairly large quantities before the sale price is triggered. Though the store is enormous, products aren't grouped too tightly so there is plenty of space to navigate around the store (though, I would prefer a bit more aisle spacing as some areas seem to have a good amount of unused space). This also means that the selection is large, but not as enormous as if they used less space for making attractive displays and instead packed products more tightly on the aisles. Checkout is fairly quick, with a good number of self checkout kiosks available to use.

How does it stay fresh? He was very helpful explaining the process that they vacuum seal the meats, wet-age it in it's own juicies then blast freeze to keep the freshness. I decided to buy a couple of products to try: ground beef and wagyu hamburger patties. I was told that the wagyu hamburger patties were juicy and tasty. Before I start with the review, let me say that I do not take writing a critical review lightly as…read moreI fully understand the impact of negative reviews (esp. for a small business). That said, here is my story. We are new to the area and thus not familiar with the popular Indian Grocery stores. Google pointed Shital to be the close store w/ the avg. rating of 4-stars. So, I went there to get some fresh vegetables and a couple of other items. The initial impression of the store was that aisles & racks were tightly packed. Went to the fresh vegetable aisle. All vegetables were on top of a open refrigerator (much like Walmart). Initially, I did not think much of it until I saw okra (bhindi) that did not look fresh at all. It had black spots and seemed "withered". Other vegetables seemed old as well. Now, it was obvious why the vegetables were stored on top of a open refrigerator (which is unlike how most Indian grocery stores store their fresh vegetables): turnaround & restocking was infrequent. Next, I went to the frozen section to get garlic naans. I picked up a large pack of garlic naan. The naan is suppose to kept frozen until use. The naans in this packet felt soft and did not felt frozen. I figured that it might be one off, so I reached for another pack in the same area. Again, naans in the second package also seemed soft. I mentioned the fact to the person behind the counter who was likely the store owner. He said that it might be just that one packet. So, he went back and got another packet. This packet was also not fully frozen. This is alarming and a health hazard as the food that is suppose to be frozen is not actually frozen. I decided not to get naans. Though, I did get a couple of Indian snacks (namkeen). The price seemed a little on the high side, but I decided to go ahead and purchase the snacks as I figured that I would not be returning to this store in the future. During checkout, I was informed that I had to make a $15 minimum purchase to use the credit card otherwise there would be a $0.50 charge. My total (w/o the .50 charge) was around $13.80. It is shady when business owners decide to jack up the minimum purchase amount from the customary $10 to $15. Overall, the food quality/safety, price and overall experience was poor. I would suggest that patrons shop elsewhere for the Indian grocery needs.

I filled out my form with all the details (sorted by category) of what I wanted. I got a call the next day clarifying substitutes for some products and it was ready for pickup immediately.
