Bought groceries on Saturday night and no registers with an employee was available, only self checkout. I had too many items for self checkout out. I complained to a floor manager who was very busy, but eventually he opened one register. I had a full cart and considered abandoning it moments before. Fortunately I got through and the person at the register was good, but something has changed in Warrenton recently. Most of the employees assigned to cash registers are slow and barely functional. Not all. In fact, I will go out of my way to avoid certain ones and even stand in a longer line. Particularly ones who sit down. I will still get most items at Walmart, but I have started shopping at other grocery stores for mid week needs. I just don't have time to spend 20 to 30 minutes in checkout. I do instacart and on a time limit and every time I go after 5 there is only self checkouts, that's probably why people instacart so they don't have to check their self out, next time i go there and if it's for myself or a instacart i will leave the cart full at the register and leave, if i wanted to do your job I would work for walmart, it should be optional and also why have the employees sitting on stools looking at their phones at self checkout? I USED to shop at Walmart, Warrenton, VA. I NO longer shop there! I do NOT like how the store feels, the employees are NOT the way, employees were at Walmart. Every once in a while I encounter a cashier that makes me feel good. For the most part it feels like the employees that work there DO NOT really want to work there. Specific to curbside pick up - could not be any slower. Run so inefficiently, it's faster to go inside and shop all your items. 30 min+ wait every time... Buyer Beware! Sunday I bought a $55 (before taxes) compact microwave. We don't use the microwave often. Just sometimes to heat up left overs. So a small one is perfect. I put in a plate of food Tuesday night and it sounded so loud, like gears grinding and screeching noises. I figured the fan was bad. I boxed it back up, along with instructions and padding it came with. Customer service permitted the return. They gave me a $57 (with taxes) gift card to purchase another. I asked if I could hook it up in here before I left. They said that would be fine. I grabbed another compact microwave and paid using my C/S gift card for the exchange. I brought it into the C/S location as I told them I would. I opened the box. It seemed the Tape job was second hand but I kept going. I look in and there no top or bottom padding. Just a microwave in a box. I said look at this. No padding. She kinda shrugged and said if all the peices are there you can take it. I said...there's no instruction booklet either. She asked if I needed one. I said no. This is too shady for me. I'm not sure what's going on here but I'm not buying it. She said no problem and created a new gift card for the cost and I left. What a joke! I'll prob gift the card for Christmas to someone but seriously, what the hell is going on, here? I pay for delivery service but constantly am asked if they can substitute items and I always decline. Today I ordered a bunch of items as well as a reliable brand of batteries that I needed right away and knew they had in stock. I received my order and as usual, they were "out of stock" of the batteries I needed and could substitute another brand (probably their brand). I was so mad I jumped in my car and went there. The batteries I had asked for were there as i knew they would be. This happens all the time. I'm busy at work at home and need this service and don't want their substitutions. This review is for Walmart Plus in South Boston, VA. The subscription is simply not worth the frustration. Many times, there are items missing from my order or items are damaged. I've received rotted/molded fruit in an order before, so I no longer trust shoppers or drivers to deliver groceries to my house. Drivers also make pit stops in route to my house, sometimes taking 30 minutes or more to delivery items, when the store is a 15 minute drive away. In addition, Walmart used Fedex for their shipping. Fedex is notorious for leaving packages at the wrong address, delivering damaged goods, and losing shipments. (With Fedex, only the shipper can lodge a complaint. If you receive damaged goods, you have to take it up with the shipper.) In closing, I do not recommend Walmart Plus delivery or shipping. I am cancelling my membership. read more

It's a walmart - but not as nice as the one in Haymarket in terms of product and staff. Also, their auto department gets super backed up. I needed a new battery and swung in there - gave me a 4.5 hour wait to do a battery swap. Fortunately, they let me borrow tools and I swapped it myself in the parking lot. Went to Walmart (in Warrenton) today and while passing the bread isle I overheard a conversation between two Walmart employees. The man was telling a female employee all the goods in the back were well past there expiration date. He asked his coworker what he should do and she informed him to "just put it on the shelf anyway". He disagreed with her and insisted it was not the right thing to do. Today my mom and I were going to Walmart to go Christmas shopping. And we totally understand the holiday season is busy, but the employees were off their rocker today. My mom who is older was pushing the cart and the first male employee walked straight after her and we were on the correct side of the aisle and he was not came straight at her making her move out of his way and he was just walking, no cart, not doing anything other than walking. And less than 2 minutes later we turned a corner and another male employee tried to squeeze between my mom and a display and pushed her out of the way and nearly knocked my mother off her feet and she said "well excuse me" and he turned around and looked at her like she was in the wrong. I am so afraid to go to this place anymore. We typically do all of our shopping here, but within the last 6 months things have taken a turn for the worse. I know they cannot control people and their actions, but I know of someone who was attacked and had to run back into the store. There was recently a shooting, and I personally have felt like I was being followed by people in the store. It was fairly dark and I feared they would follow me to my car. Do you enjoy scavenger hunts and obstacle courses? If so, this is the Walmart for you! Warrenton suffers from a lack of choices so I am basically forced to shop here at times. And, well, I have learned a thing or two. Namely, this store is just awful. So for the scavenger hunt game, it goes like this. Shop at the store for a few months and watch as your items get shuffled around the store. Then delight in hunting for them (bird seed, cleaning products, certain health and beauty stuff). Or go to the shelf where said product should be and be met with an empty shelf and out of stock product (especially in the diaper department!) And watch as it takes way too long to restock the product you are looking for (diapers, cat food, cat litter) Frustrating! Obstacle course items include the magical, ever-shrinking grocery aisles (seriously, you can barely get two carts to pass in those aisles!). And what really irritates me is they seem to have employees constantly stocking and taking up space in aisles and departments during busy shopping times. I worked at a grocery store and a retail store in my past and we usually did a lot of that at night. I only give this store two stars because of the low egg and milk prices. But in all seriousness, I am very fed up with this store. It is time for Warrenton/New Baltimore to give us a nicer Walmart---Manassas finally got with the program. I was once walking across the pedestrian crosswalk in front of the entrance and someone in a beat up old truck honked, rolled down his window and yelled "You need to move! You're blocking traffic!" This is for the auto service center. DO NOT USE THEM!!! I brought my wife's Kia Sorento in for a simple oil change as we were headed down to SC the next evening. About 3.5 hours into the drive my wife pulled over so we could switch driving. When we pulled into a gas station I heard a noise from under the car. Well when I got out half of my under carriage/skid plate was missing because they didn't secure it properly. So at 3am in some part of NC I had to crawl under the car to try and secure what was left of the skid plate. I called them up later that day and they said they would pay for the part, which they did when we got back. They said it would take 5 minutes to install and just come in whenever. Well my wife had to wait 1.5 hours to get it installed. I will NEVER take my care into Warrenton Walmart again even if it's just to tighten my antenna. Very unhappy. read more

I was shopping with my boyfriend on Christmas Eve and these two ladies or should I say little children were rude and yelling at customers being lazy and just telling Customers idk what to do I can't help you. Then didn't want to sell a pair of pants to us bc it had no tag and instead of helping us the lady said can't help so I had to tell her I'll sit here till someone helps me then finally a manager came over with the same attitude and being very rude I don't even know how they were employed. This is one of the nicest Walmarts I've ever been to. They're open 24/7 & they keep the store clean & well organized. Customer Service usually keeps the line moving fast for returns & they keep multiple registers open to keep it from backing up. They became a Super Walmart a few years ago, so they now sell food as well as all the regular stuff. They also have a lawn & garden, gun/sporting goods, & automotive service department. read more

This is literally one of the worst Walmarts that I've been to. Some of their employees are rude and tend to misgender people, and act like they wish to be anywhere else but there. Even the manager was rude. Definitely wouldn't go back there, considering the manager had the nerve to say "you don't need to use profanity". Dropping the f bomb once isn't half as bad as everything else I hear within the store. You can have a freedom of speech, and you don't have the right to tell people who buy things from your store that you can't say something. If you want respect from your customers, treat them with respect in the first place. All things being equal and only in relation to other Walmarts, this is the nicest one that I've been to in the area (or my hometown in CT). In relation to other department stores, no Walmart could ever be 5-star in relation to its category of stores. This place is clean and the service is good. It's the best Walmart that I've been in, truly. This one has a grocery store and prices are - true to its reputation - very good. The quality of clothing not good for even for the price at Walmart. Auto Center: Avoid. I did ship to store for tires and came into pick them up and have them placed on my vehicle. The first day (about 11AM) I was told it would be a 4 hour wait and to come back at 8AM the next morning for a shorter time. Came back at 8AM the next day and was told it would be a minimum 4.5-5 hour wait and I should've come at 7AM. They are severely short staffed, I don't know why they are open at all. Day 1 saw 3 guys "working": 1 working, 2 standing around with sodas while the waiting room was full of customers. Day 2 only saw 1 man working and 1 at the reception desk with only 1 customer (besides me) waiting in the waiting room. They should take appointments for customers and hire more dedicated staff, or close entirely. Date: Aug 04, 2018 Update: Picked up vehicle after 5.5 hours waiting for tires to be put on. Drove away; approximately 2 miles away, the tire pressure indicator light came on. This light comes on when the tire air pressure is low or they are not balanced correctly. Took the vehicle back. Gomer Pyle tells me that he "cain't" fix the light, that I have to drive a while and the light will go off. This is not true of my vehicle. The vehicle light has to be reset once the pressure is corrected (then it will not come on again until there is a new problem). I've never had this happen before when getting new tires. Drove away again, 2 miles away, the light came on AGAIN. Now I have to take my vehicle somewhere else to have them re-done. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE THERE. read more

Closest to the family homestead. I've shopped on mother's day and the day before christmas. (things just went wrong and those were the days i needed to be there) Both worked out well. Not a huge crowd. PRetty good vegie and deli selections. But no wheat free/gluten free items - unless they were all banished to another part of the store... We were able to get beer, undies (septic system failed and they couldn't fix it for a few says - so no laundry... sigh), crackers, ginger, and other random odds and ends that one needs 3 hours before the store closes on christmas eve! This review is based on the auto service only. I would have given them a zero if possible. I arrived at 0715 hours because website stated it opens at 0700 hours. there was a hand written sign on the door that said new hours 0800. I was the the only one there and began to talk to a nice employee who stated they were short handed. I explained to him first time to Walmart Auto and I would wait. At exactly 0800 I walked in and another gentleman who pulled up around 0745 walked through the store and was being helped. I looked at the employee and said you kidding me right? I have been sitting for 45 mins. This should have been a sign. After waiting two hours for tires, they broke my tire sensor and could fix it. In addition, every wheel had scratches from the machine. There is nothing special about this place...it is set up like every other Walmart I've even shopped. HOWEVER, this place has the most RUDE workers. The staff on the floor are constantly chatting with each other making me feel like I'm interrupting something if I have a question. WalMart in all its glory, and an adequate place to find more unnecessary stuff that clutters up your house. Selection emphasizes economy rather than quality, but generally customers don't go to WalMart for high end or specialty items. Customer service runs about middle of the road since the staff has a limited understanding of the store's stock and policies. The Tire and Lubrication section in particular struggles with their assigned tasks. WalMart customers are, well, WalMart people. Unpretentious, unselfconscious, unsophisticated, and sometimes unaware. Like me, for example. Although some are whiners, such as several of the reviews appearing here, mostly they are salt of the earth and very seldom will a suit appear in the aisles. In the late evening or night the WalMart parking areas get a little dicey. Occasional drug deals and other nefarious activities take place in the dark corners of the lot. During the day customers walking back and forth between the store and their vehicles must remain vigilant against the reckless and the rude drivers who only moments earlier were pedestrians themselves. However, other Warrenton establishments share similar features, and they are not unique to WalMart. read more
