This is def one of the worst Walmarts in the area - and I don't think any Walmart is nice. It's unfortunately the closest to my new house - so I've been here a few times in recent months due to late-night needs or last-minute items that I don't have time to drive elsewhere for... I always find it with a dirty parking lot, not enough employees, and incredibly long lines. Employees are indifferent and unprofessional - often roaming around in groups talking and socializing and not at all willing to help customers locate items. They usually have only 1-2 cashiers while the line for the self-checkout has 30+ people in it. I don't think the prices here are good enough to justify shopping here. I prefer to spend more and only come here when I'm basically desperate. read more

I only come here if I am short on time since it is so close to my house. Pick-up order: 0 out of 10. It seems like no one tracks the app. When you check in and put the spot you are parked in, no one comes out. After sitting in your car for a while, you see a sign that says to call a number to let them know you are here. The people who pick up usually sound very annoyed. They then come out and motion for you to move you car away from the designated "pick up" area to be closer (which I don't mind but they can at least just move the signs to avoid confusion). They're normally not really gentle with items like bread and eggs and don't care how they load them. Inside: It always seems so chaotic in there. There's never enough registers open. I'm always hesitant to ask employees for help as they normally answer with an annoyed attitude. But randomly you will find a very nice employee that will help. The app doesn't reflect the store properly as it will tell you something is on an aisle and when you get there it is in the next aisle over. But nonetheless it is usually well stocked. read more

Worst Walmart in VA Beach. It is messy. The layout is weird. If they would rebuild the old K-Mart's garden center and design it into a better store plan. It would really help this location. Every time I walk in it looks like a thrift store. They need to declutter and organize. The staff reflect this store and seem sloppy and they just don't care. This is now the Walmart that is closest to me since our recent move. I feel like this one is quite large and contains more items than the other Walmart's I've been too. I could be wrong but it just seems like it to me. Produce area is always nice and stocked up with fresh items which I appreciate. I always see staff in every are restocking and tidying up. This store is overall very neat and organized. It will take me some time to get used to the layout but I have always found what I needed. I like that there isn't as much traffic as the other locations and so I never stand in a line or have to wait long to check out. One entrance is closed so all the traffic is at one end of the store but staff members are there to ensure masks are being worn and carts are being wiped down. read more

I did a online order for pick. It was pretty great. I placed my order and picked estimated time. I waited in the lot for a little bit. It seemed pretty busy at the time I requested to picK it up. When they finally arrived the worker loaded my grocery in the car and told me that this were out on one item. I was a little bummed about it so without skipping a beat he said that they may had restocked the shelves. He went back in and found the item. I was very grateful. Pandemic Review - I haven't stepped foot in Walmart in 8 months. But I have been to this Walmart many times. Before the pandemic, I had never had curbside pick-up or grocery pick-up anywhere. I have thankfully found the app and the grocery pick-up service easy to use. The service got a bit better as time went along. There was a long wait even after my order was supposed to be ready for the first several visits. It took a while to get accustomed to having substitutions. The worker always comes to your window to ensure that you are aware of the substations and are okay with them. You stay in your car, pop the trunk and enjoy no-contact delivery. HOW WONDERFUL. What a gift this service is. My last visit was on a weekday. This visit was a different experience than any of my previous visits. I received a text saying that my order was ready 15 minutes before my pick-up window. I'm accustomed to messages telling me they were still working on my order and it not being ready until sometime during my window. I also usually wait at least 30 minutes once I arrive. When I arrived on Wednesday, the worker was at my window within a minute of my arrival. Within a few minutes, my trunk was loaded and the gentleman was sending me on my way. So easy and surprisingly great. I wish I could always come on a weekday/workday. read more

Holy guacamole, we had one heck of a time at our friendly neighborhood wallyworld. Second visit of the day and girly just haaaaad to play the claw machine, as usual. She loves spending 5 bucks on cheap dollar store plush toys! She only had $20's so I had to go break one by buying a fizzy soda drink.. Then the claw machine wouldn't take any of our $1's! Then the change machine wouldn't take any bills either!! Ahhhhh make the pain stop, but nope, she waited at customer service for 5 minutes to be told they don't give change!! I guess you don't want people playing in your "fun zone", more like "un-fun zone". HA. To make a long story short, the claw machines by the exit took our dollars and of course girly won a prize! I recently purchase a HT curved weed eater online from walmart.com only to findit in store 2 days later for 20.00 less. Contacted online customer service only to get told we can't do anything but allow you to return the item online, wait for the refund, then drive back to the store to purchase it again for the lower price...so much for customer service, and like most other sites walmart .com has become a scam as well.. I will not be using their site again for any purchases and will probably stay away from their stores as well. I would rather pay extra for proper customer service somewhere else. As I'm sure Sam Walton is turning in his grave at what his company has become. read more

I really wish they would train their associates better in customer service. On top of the fact that the store has never been adequately stocked since it's grand opening and the inventory is never updated, the associates are disrespectful, over opinionated and disgraceful. I will give credit to the auto department and the sporting goods as they are good at replenishment and the guy in the sports section always is willing to help even in other departments. Shoes, School supplies, arts and crafts, toys, gardening, housewares, electronics and kids clothes are the absolute worst example of customer service I have ever seen and I very much do expect Walmart employees to be better behaved and less "brat like." Walmart is a tremendous company that's has supported the working force for decades and it's beyond disappointing to see it turn into a majority group of complainers, people cursing all the time, flirting with other employees and customers (it's not tinder) and entitled degenerates who believe they shouldn't have to work hard to get paid! The worst is hearing the store manager complain, on the floor in front of customers, about sales during this crisis but dodge and try to hide from customers or pretend to be on her walkie so you won't talk to her! We were so happy when a Walmart was opening close by our neighborhood but we have to keep going out to Phoenix near Lynnhavens location more than we should simply because this one is always out of stuff and have terrible attitudes about everything. I've always hated going here and I only shop here if I absolutely have to. The overcrowding and the long lines from never having enough registers open is the most infuriating. They keep the cards with child and baby seats outside. It's raining and generally mothers don't have time to find paper towels to wipe down and dry off rain, snow, dirt, etc. so they can safely strap their kids in and spend money in your store. Headed to Target across the street. read more

When our cats were done with the food we bought them from this Walmart we realized they were expired. Last night I wanted to buy a particular sandwich meat in the prepackaged section and all of them were expired... some of them from October. I called manager about it. Definitely good prices there but maybe pay your employees more to rotate and pull expired products. read more

Although I'm pleased that Walmart is cleaning carts, I'm concerned that the products being used may be harmful to the employees and even customers. Walmart grocery pick up is a joke! I received my notification that my order was ready, and I left to go pick it up 45 minutes later. This tells me that my order was sitting in a refrigerated locker for that amount of time. When I clicked that I was on my way, I assumed that employees put my order into baskets to bring out to my car. However, I arrived, and checked in on the app as instructed. I notified them which parking spot I was in and the color of my car. Then I sat there and waited for 22 minutes. I called the number on the sign, and I got an answering machine. I tried again. Same thing happened. I called the main number to the store, and asked for a manager. After being put on hold for a few minutes, a manager came to the phone and I explained my situation. He told me that he would have to run to the back to tell them to hurry up, and he took my name. 10 minutes later, the associate came out with my groceries. He asked me if I knew about the substitutions, and I told him that I checked my email and did not get a notification about any substitutions. He told me that one item was different, and I said that was fine. We both loaded the groceries into my vehicle and I went home. As I unloaded my groceries, I realized that I had a bunch of random things, and was missing major items. I called back up to the center and was put on hold for 20 minutes and then disconnected. I called back and the same thing happened after a 14 minute hold. I finally called corporate, and they refunded me the amount for the missing items, (but it will take 5 to 10 business days for me to receive that refund) and gave me $10 towards my next pick up order. I assured them that I would never use Walmart pick up again, and she told me that I might get over it in the next 12 months. I am a very patient person, and this was the worst hour and a half experience that I have ever had with Walmart. read more

I was helped by an older gentleman in electronics who was named Kevin. He was extremely helpful and kind, there was a disgruntled lady who was giving him a very hard time while I was there and he handled the situation appropriately. It was hard watching someone treat him poorly, because he was just one of the nicest employees I've come across. He was knowledgeable in the product i was looking for, which was a new fitness tracker for my husband. He said he loved his because the more steps he took the more cookies he got to eat! What a trip! If you ever need help with anything in electronics look for Kevin! You will not be disappointed. read more

Seems like only half the store is adequately stocked . The produce section is always heavily empty and pricing doesn't match the shelf tags. Employees are extremely rude even Up througg management. They always act like you're in the way and would rather do anything than help you. Looked forward to them opening for so long and it's turned out to be just a huge disappointment. read more
