They fired my girlfriend for absolutely no reason. It's blatantly obvious they did it because she had just reached 90 days and they would've had to start paying for her health insurance and dental. So corrupt and disgusting Walmart has become. They're an absolutely terrible employer and they treat their employees like they're disposable and don't matter. The week she was supposed to get the discount card and the insurance and everything and be able to to back to school they fired her. They made up some bs exscuse about her attendance when they never said she couldn't use PPTO same day that she had saved up. I shop at Walmart when needed. They used to have low prices for everything, but I'm finding that they have high prices for items as well. I will say that they keep the store well stocked. I do miss the personalization of checking out with a person instead of the self checkouts. I've come to learn that this is the Walmart way. Walmart is good for having longer hours than other stores. The best time to go is probably in the mornings when it is not so crowded. Otherwise you will definitely run into a crowd which can be a headache at times if you have one item to get and you're waiting in a line that could possibly take you 30+ minutes to check out. Walmart has all of those check out counters or stations that go unused throughout the day. The lack of human interaction, like I mentioned before, is the main thing that I don't like. read more

I posted a review on their website hopefully someone sees it and acknowledges this young lady's hard work. Today I came and had a list that I was trying to stick to but ended up getting more of course. I needed some pajamas and outfits for my husband that had lost weight recently and Julian was the one that helped me. She went above and beyond for me walking me to the items and answering my questions of if the items looked well together. She was very friendly and informative. Wish everyone was like her considering as I went to go pick up the rest of my items I saw workers on their phones and they didn't even bother to greet me or say good afternoon. Just a simple good morning goes a long way, guess I am just old fashion. read more

It's been six years since I wrote my last review here. I actually come here a lot more often now and things have gotten better. Employees actually say hi to me when I'm in the store and the price tag situation has gotten a little better. The ideal time to shop is still early in the mornings. If you get here too early though on weekends they don't have their self check lanes with the conveyor belts open so you may have to wait or go through the regular ones. read more

Bathrooms not cleaned. 4 staffed registers opened and only two self checkouts being allowed to be used out of 17, on a Sunday. 6 total registers in use. Like they saying don't shop here. Sadly have to come here because neighborhood store doesn't have everything. read more

Walmart installed a ton of new self checkout machines a few months ago, which would be amazing if they let you use them. Every time I've been there the last few weeks there has been either 0 or up to 2 self checkout registers open, and if they are open you have en employee breathing down your neck the whole time. It comes off like a soft accusation of theft and is super disrespectful. Since the self checkouts aren't open that means they use the regular checkout lines which are staffed by the slowest, least efficient employees I've ever encountered. The morale of the story is that the whole point of Walmart, convenience, is completely lost because of whomever is making these choices. Every time you go into this Walmart expect to be in a super crowded store and wait in line at least 30 minutes but usually up to an hour. And then after all of the anti theft measures you will still be asked to see your receipt and your cart will be checked. This place is pathetic and wastes your time, do not go here for any reason. Whether you get 1 item or 100 you will be waiting while there are 25 self check out lines closed right in front of you. I would give this negative stars if that was possible. 0/10 do not recommend. My wife and I came in to drop off our car for an oil change. We were told there were two vehicles in front of us, and it would be about an hour UNTIL THE CAR WAS DONE. We decided we might as well do a little shopping while we waited. And waited. And waited. It's now been two hours, and our car is still sitting outside. It hasn't even made it inside yet. When I asked what was going on, I was of course given the "oh, your vehicle is next up" excuse. So either they did two cars in two hours (and most likely don't know what they're doing), or they started going out of order (and still don't know what they're doing). Either way, I'd definitely take my car somewhere else to get the work done. Luckily the two and half hours they've taken has given me time to write up a quick review. read more

I still haven't tried the curbside pickup since posting my review last year, but one thing they have done that I do use is the multiple self checkout lanes now. There are four down at the household item side and then at least 6-10 down at the food end of the store. Helps when you do go and it's crowded and you only have a few items. Besides that this store is still outdated. I noticed today how filthy and rusted up some of the shelves are. And the reason I could see the shelves is bc they was so many things out of stock. But I still go back bc right now I can get milk, eggs and butter for under $5. That's a deal worth taking advantage of! read more

I prefer this location to other options in Summerville. It is not as crowded and they don't seem to always be out of stock for the things that I need. I mean Walmart is Walmart. Everyone pretty much knows what to expect. Sometimes even if you don't want to go, you have to. They have a large variety of just about everything that you could possibly need unless you are looking for a tuxedo. But it's possible that they sell those too, I don't know. read more

Made appointment at Walmart at Dorchester Road for 3 Sept and found a quicker option and tried to call to cancel appointment. Clean store that's why I like coming to this location they always have their shelves full of inventory. There are other Walmart's you have to go on a scavenger hunt for things. Not here! If I could give a zero star rating, I would do just that! I understand that we're in the middle of an outbreak and we are mandated by the county and the city to wear masks, but there is absolutely no reason for the rudeness and the hypocracy being displayed at this store! My mother-in-law went to shop for groceries today. She forgot to put her mask on prior to entering the store. Upon entering the store she was stopped by an employee and was badgered for entering without a mask. Luckily, her mask was in her purse and just didn't think about wearing it when she stepped out of her vehicle. There is a proper way to address your customers when it comes to these situations. That employee did NOT exercise such manner. Later that same employee was seen having a conversation with another employee with her mask partially on her face. There were other employees in the store who didn't have a mask at all! But really the rudeness was what ticked her off. The same can be said about multiple employees and instances concerning multiple situations. The entire store needs a seminar on proper customer service! We've had enough of it and unless the store employees begin to improve their customer service, we will NOT be returning to this store for any shopping! It used to be a convenient place to shop for cheaper prices, but even that is no longer true. There are many other places we can shop without breaking the wallet not to mention online shopping. Sorry Walmart, but you're not our favorite anymore. read more

Walmart is Walmart. They usually have what you need at a fair or decent price, the people who shop there are entertaining to watch, and the employees are not helpful when you ask questions. But it's my go to place for a quick stop for groceries. As long as I don't talk to anyone there, I'm good. Self checkout is the way to go because there are more self checkout lanes open than human operated checkout lanes. But don't have any issues in self checkout on a busy day. You might wait a bit ...with a side of sass. My most recent experience there included an employee telling me that that if I walked by where she was mopping the floor and I fell, it would be my fault if I got hurt. I looked around and there wasn't a "wet floor" sign anywhere. Awesome. read more

I have started shopping at this Walmart quite a lot. Their range is extensive and their are always a lot of registers open. The car park is massive so there is always ample space to park your car. Their clearance section is usually pretty good and they often have nice prices on milk and bread. Finally, their staff are friendly!! Not a usual occurrence at a lot of Walmart's. I began to gate going to Walmart, the shelves are empty most times, they are famous for nothing opening enough registers, etc. But my one beef about THIS Walmart is that they close the garden gates at odd hours of the night, with no warnings to the customers that have pop arked down there. Now most of us could use the excercise...but the point is its dark.at that end, and a femake alone during the holidays....well. Ive complained a few times, and the managers were rude about it. BUT this stores one savior in this mess is Amber, one of the managers last Wednesday night, she was sweet and apologetic. She explained the reasons, but she also walked me to the gate, unlocked it, and waited while I safely got to my car. If Walmart employed more people like her, it could be the great store it once was. read more

Against my better judgement I purchased a set of tires for my daughter's car through Walmart. Great price comes at a cost though. I made the appointment to have them mounted and balanced. I arrived at the appointed time and they did not show that I had an appointment. Fortunately I had the text confirmation. They said no problem they would get right to it. 45 minutes later. From out of town and in a hurry early this morning went to this Walmart to replace a broken piece of luggage and get phone car charger. Grabbed luggage and went to electronics section .. there was an employee close by when i when into the accessory isle. When I walked up at same time I asked "can you tell me where the car chargers are" she said "good morning". Instead of just helping me find car charger she glared at me and repeated"good morning" like she was going to teach me some manners. She had a crappy attitude .. This store is really well run and managed and is dependable and there for you when you need it. this location is well stocked and I have always found exactly what I was looking for every time that I have been here. The staff here is very helpful and knowledgeable for a Walmart. The grocery and bakery section here really stands and has a really good selection of items. I like to come here during off hours when it is not crowded and can do shopping quickly and this location works very well for that. This Walmart is a quality Walmart and consistently provides what you need when you need it and for a good price. read more

If I could give 0 stars then I would. DO NOT order online at this location. The staff is completely unprofessional and unorganized. No one ever answers the phone and if you do actually get someone on the phone they are rude and give you attitude. Also calling the main store to help with getting in touch with the pick up area is no help at all. They'll just transfer you and if you ask to speak with a manager, they'll tell you that neither the store manager or assistant manager is in. Sounds like the managers are never there to do their job and that's why this location is so AWFUL! read more

Wandering aimlessly around WalMart is never a good thing because I always walk out spending more money than I intended to. I used the self-checkout in this store and was surprised to see the person working in that area actually ringing up people's orders. I, honestly, got in an out of the store pretty quickly, and the employees were pretty friendly. The parking lot was clean, and the carts were returned to the store. Every time I go they are ALWAYS out of stock of many items. Their veggies and fruit go bad almost instantaneously. We're going to Publix from now on. Not to mention the store is a total WRECK. Why have employees? I went to find a quick dog collar and toy once. I kid you not, EVERY product was on the ledge of the fixture. Maybe two were hanging up properly. The makeup section is so disgusting I don't even feel like the items are clean enough to buy. Nail polish marks everywhere. Last thing I want is an open, used bottle. I was shopping and my child wanted some pop corn chicken ask the woman at the deli if they were making anymore her reply was "I'm not I'm about to go on break" then i asked another employee and the woman talked over her and said she's not either we go on break together! I get so upset with this Walmart because I really want to like it and give it a good rating but............I have been going here off and on for 10 yrs, since they are close to my home and I get my perscriptions filled here. But this store is a sad excuse for a Superstore.....They are always out of stock on most everything.......and I mean everything.....there are times I would go back in a week or so and still nothing. The bakery and deli try hard but getting food that is old and under the heat lights is not my favorite way of buying food....and....if you look at the different breads...they all seem to look alike...must be the same recipe?
