Clean, well maintained, well stocked store in a great location with plenty of parking. Only one entrance on Van Dyke coming from the south, which is a bit awkward, but all other entrances and exits are satisfactory. Store is a newer, larger Walmart with all the amenities you've come to expect (more room, complete grocery selection, etc). I did store pickup yesterday. I alerted that i was on my way by the online email link. I used the app when i arrived to enter the parking spot. It still took long for curbside to come out. They were very nice people though. Unfortunately 4 items were unavailable. Then when I arrived home I noticed the meat packs (chicken) all had liquid/fluid leaking out the bag! It was all in my car & on my counter. The celery was extremely dirty! The worst pack I've ever seen. I can't believe they gave it to a customer lol. & The paper towel pack was ripped open. Generally i do my own shopping & have no issues at this location. Big theres always long lines and short staff. On 9/92023 i was charged twice for dole pineapples. I complained online & by calling. But they disappointed me by not giving my refund! A representative named coach Stephanie asked me to come in instead of refunding my card or giving a credit. I had one of the worst experiences ever at this Walmart. The floors were so slippery that I FELL!!! It felt unsafe to even walk around. On top of that, one of the employees was incredibly rude and made racist remarks toward me and called me a good BOY...I am a female. I left the store feeling humiliated and angry. No one should be treated that way, especially in a place where we're just trying to shop for our families. This team went above and beyond for me. The cake decorator, Amina, skipped her lunch break to get me a rush order cake to me. I've never had service like this before - there was a very sweet inventory worker who listened to my story and got the store kind managers involved too and everyone was so kind and professional. Such a great team over there. I'm so grateful for what they did for me and won't ever forget their kindness. As always, Walmart is a hot mess. There were NO carts or baskets to shop with - I had to use an Easter basket. There was only ONE cashier who didn't have her light on and the only other option was self-check out. Even found two packs of raw chicken abandoned in the check out aisle. Reminder: not to buy refrigerated/frozen foods here. Frozen meal was also abandoned in the cereal aisle - clearly staff is not maintaining the aisles. There were many staff standing and checking receipts when they could have been working on the register or working at the service desk, which was closed. People deal with the shitshow of Walmart for their cheap prices, but their prices were way higher than Meijer. This trip reminded me why I don't shop at Walmarts. Shame on management for the poor staffing. read more

Horrible horrible horrible!!!! The auto shop and the customer service team are horrendous! Absolutely incompetent people that they have hired and put into position. They completely wasted my time and money today and forced me to write this review with how terrible everything went. I scheduled an appointment and bought my tires online. Only to get to the store and end up waiting and being told that they won't work on my car. The mechanic tried to force me into buying another new tire and said that's the "only way" he would be willing do it. I insisted not to and demanded a refund. They made me roll the tire all way to the customer service just for the lady there to give me a partial refund. She told me that the installation is non refundable and at this point I was fuming. Not much to say about going here besides poor customer service, the place is filthy, and the carts hardly stroll. Nobody is friendly, greets you upon arrival or as you're leaving/checking out, or asks you if you need help with finding anything. I often find myself circling around looking for something I am in need of, with my cart hardly moving. They need to lube up those wheels or something. Also, not sure why there are like 15-20 lanes and only two workers at the registers around 10:30 pm while there are lines wrapping around the clothes aisles. They close off the self scan and you could be waiting in like a good 45 minutes to an hour. Oh, and if you would prefer to call there instead of searching around the store, be prepared to be on hold for a good 30-35 minutes and talking to like four people in different departments since there is a lack of communication with them via phone. read more

I ran into the Wal-Mart on Van Dyke Sterling Heights on a Sunday evening to get my grocery basics and it was the scummiest, dirtiest, messiest Wal-Mart I have ever been in. Absolutely scuz-tastic. Of all the bazillion shopping carts the average Wal-Mart has, I couldn't find one when I walked out of the store, so I had to go out to the parking lot to get my own. Granted, the day before Valentine's Day, I figured flowers would be a hot item. They were stocked fairly well but the floor beneath the flower display had water slopped all over it. At least the store keeps a rug on the floor so no one slips. A few feet way, there were fresh-squeezed (or should I say fresh-squashed?) blueberries on the floor. Not just a few. It looked like about half a pint, and the juicy blue stains were tracked all over the produce department. That changed my mind about buying produce there, not that Wal-Mart carries the freshest or best quality produce. But I was desperate for a red onion, but couldn't find one. Not one. Well, I was going to the produce market the next day anyway. It would be the extra 10 cents or so for the wait. Next was the pasta aisle, which looked like it was ransacked by shoppers stocking up for a month-long snowstorm. Pickings were slim. What was on the shelves was in total disarray. The same went for the cereal, pancake mix and soft drink sections. I knew you can buy anything at Wal-Mart, but towels, refrigerated grapefruit juice and a used snot rag on the same shelf n the pop section? Methinks not. Seeing the store's lack of diligence in keeping cold foods cold, I bypassed buying milk, eggs and yogurt. There was all kind of trash on the floor in every aisle of the grocery section ... scraps of paper, packaging, hangers and flour and pancake mix all over the floor in front of those products. The same was true for the check-out aisles where the few lines that were open were long ... 35 minutes long for me. I doubt if Sunday evening is a peak shopping time for Wal-Mart, but come on, staff appropriately ... especially the cleaning crew. read more

As I write this, I've been waiting for over 30 min for assistance in the Entertainment department. I've called three times (on the phone now for the third time), and no one has come. I've asked three associates for help, and two said they don't have the key, and someone should be over shortly, and the last person said, "I just punched out." After 15 min, the automated line hangs up no matter if I ask for electronics, a manager, customer service...by the time I finish writing this, I will have waited 45 min to buy a phone case. I love this Walmart! Grocery pick up is amazing! I don't go in there as often not that I can do the free grocery pick up. The staff that shops for and brings me my grocery are incredible. They shop for the veggies as if they were shopping for themselves, they are always fresh and exactly what I would pick for myself. She complained to me that she had to do more than one thing at work, that's called LIFE. I told her she should take it up with management instead of customers. Huzzah! I have managed to find probably the worst Walmart ever. The store is a complete shitshow. Everything is in a disarray and every employee we've encountered was dishearteningly disgruntled and surprisingly entitled, as if it was beneath them to provide assistance. I opt for site to store a lot. I'm familiar with the process and I'll acknowledge that it can be a wait sometimes for someone to help us. With that said, waiting nearly half an hour just to wrangle up someone to help us with a site to store order is ludicrous and borderline maddening. Add insult to injury, the first time we picked up an order, the employee helping us rang up every item individually. Which meant punching in the order number for every item for a 10 item transaction. Which meant an additional thirty minutes while my toddler whined and customers behind me glared. And of course, she didn't even bag the items for me. She just pushed them towards me after she was done. I had to ask for bags and bag them myself as she watched. Drive the few more miles to another location to maintain your sanity. read more

I'm not the biggest fan of Wal-mart, but this location is ok if I have to visit a Wal-mart. One downside is clothing. If it's not on a hanger, good luck finding it organized. This one is a Super Wal-mart, so there are some unique food choices that you can't get at other grocery stores in the area.
