The employees are usually friendly, helpful, and provide excellent customer service, which is why Publix is my favorite grocery store. Unfortunately, my experience at this particular location today was disappointing. When I asked the deli employee if I could purchase popcorn chicken by weight and have about half a cup filled, she responded very rudely and told me they don't do that and that I had to buy one of the pre-filled large cups. I understand that different stores or departments may have different policies, and I had no problem buying the larger cup instead. My concern wasn't the policy--it was the way I was treated. At every other Publix I've visited, the deli staff has gladly filled the amount I requested and sold it by weight, so I was surprised by both the response and the attitude. I simply believe customers should be treated with kindness and respect, even when the answer is no. I hope management can remind their staff that courteous customer service is one of the things that makes Publix stand out. I know this experience isn't typical of the excellent service I've received at other Publix locations.

I've ordered subs and deli meats and cheeses too. But today I wanted to bring back a Boars head sub for dinner. There were a lot of people in line, which is ok. Something I noticed was the rotisserie chicken cooker. Raw chicken was sitting inside but the doors were open. I'm thinking, eww salmonella, chicken dropping below safe levels. The door was open for over 15 minutes! The employees were gathering another rack of chicken to load into the rotisserie cooker. Once that rack was loaded, the employees went back to gather more raw chicken...STILL leaving the door open. By the time it was my turn to order my sub, the chicken had been sitting in the open for over 30 minutes! The employees were not in any rush and didn't seem to care about the potential danger they created. They were mostly talking and laughing while the rotisserie door stood open. When I ordered my sub, I mentioned that the raw chicken had been out in the open for a long time. She didn't seem to care. No sense of urgency on anyone's part. This was on 5/18/26 around quarter to 4:00 . I picked up a few other items, passed by the rotisserie chicken around 5:00 and it was STILL open! I hope no one gets sick from eating that chicken. Both are really great grocery stores. There's one Bakery employee and her name is Ann and she is the friendliest lady working in a Publix ever!! She likes customers and she helps folks too. I was super impressed by her handwriting and just had to compliment her having the prettiest writing anyone has ever done for me on a cake and that's saying alot since I'm in my 70's and have ordered so many in my life! I grabbed a sale on Cherry Coke, but at checkout the math wasn't adding up. Thought I was supposed to get one free, turns out I was supposed to get two. The front end crew cracked the case quick, and before I knew it another employee was sprinting off to grab me an extra 6-pack. Clean store, friendly people, and they even made me walk out with more soda than I thought I'd scored.

Additionally the automated system at the Southgate Plaza location in NPR is flawed. The system told me my prescription would be ready the following day, Saturday, after three pm. Knowing what i been through I decided to wait until Monday. No surprise it wasn't ready. The reason they gave was laughable. It had to do with my insurance eligibility !!! If that were the case why did their automated system not alert me to that? Instead it said " be ready after 3 pm on Saturday.

I suggest going during the daytime hours before peak hours. Or within an hour of their closing time. Their prices and quality are why I shop here for my essentials. They also have an assortment of organic items at fair prices. Don't forget to bring a quarter to use one of their shopping carts which you get back upon returning it. (Just stick the metal in the slot then release your quarter.) It's easy. Service has been fast and efficient. Thank you to the hardworkers who make it possible. I will be back again.

The…read moreproblem is they have to put up with some people that I would just say are a little bit wealthier than most and feel more entitled. I noticed a number of golf carts so I was very careful driving around them. The problem is outside. I was in a disabled parking spot because I am disabled my heart. As I was pulling out after getting a few groceries doing 4 miles an hour watching for pedestrians one of them walked directly in front of my car and I had to literally Slam the brakes on. Besides dealing with golf carts, I also had to deal with air boats and Johnny boats as I pulled back on US 19 and they were doing 70 mph. I would come back to the store, but it would be later in the evening when those people have gone home and gone to bed. Oh, you also have to look out for Can-Ams scooters etc...and motorcycles. I don't have a problem with those people, but you gotta be extremely and I do mean extremely careful in the parking lot. Like I said great store inside but with Glenn Lakes right next to it. I was not impressed, but I'll come back if I happen to be in the area. They close earlier than my Publix.
