I drove completely out of my way for a sale item that Walmart swore was in stock. Of course, I get there -- nothing. Empty shelves, no help, and the same tired excuses. This happens every single time. Walmart clearly doesn't care about their customers -- only their bottom line. I'm done wasting my time, gas, and patience on a billion-dollar corporation that can't even manage an accurate inventory. I would give 0 stars if it was an option! Anyway, I get a flat while on 119. I call AAA for a tow. Meanwhile I call this Walmart and they have 9 tires my size in stock. Ok, great. AAA drops the car off along with me and my daughter. The Walmart tire associate tells me it will be about 4-5 hours because there are 10 people ahead. Problem, but no option other than to wait it out. Then he comes back and they do not have a single tire to put on my car. They offered no help, assistance, nothing. It's my problem. I asked for the store manager and he never showed up. Meanwhile I call Discount tire across the road. The man shows up at Walmart with a jack, takes my tire off, goes back to the shop and replaces my tire on my rim, comes back and puts the tire back on the car. Tells me to come over whenever I can to pay. Then he leaves. Discount tire did all that in less than 30 minutes when Walmart was telling me 5 hours! My experience was ruined as soon as my feet entered the dirty tile floor. I was promised a smiling face when I entered Walmart super center, instead I got mindless blank stares repeating "welcome to Walmart.". I did not feel welcome to Walmart the moment I felt the biting cold breeze breach my cable knitted sweater. I collected myself and selected a shopping cart, to my dismay, the only one left was a cart missing its front wheel. I brushed it off and continued on with my experience with a screeching cart. I entered Walmart for bananas and a 2 liter of Baja Blast Mountain Dew. I screeched my way over to the bananas and plucked a bushel and to my reoccurring dismay, my bananas were certainly not green, not yellow, they were brown. Not a single good banana in sight. I scoffed and selected the best looking bushel, which was mediocre at best, I would not feed it to a prisoner. I screeched my way to the sodas, my line being crossed and my anger through the non windowed walls. Once again I was disappointed by the nonexistent Baja blast. I growled and grabbed my brown bananas and stomped to check out. Once again I was upset by the lack of cashiers, so I had to check myself out. There was a line through the cold, bitter, and unwelcoming atmosphere. In result, I left my bananas in a nearby shelf and stormed out of this hell of an establishment. read more

It's an A-OK Wal-Mart, the same as any of the other dozens that I've been in across the US. This one is a SuperCenter, meaning that it has the full grocery section. Shelves were stocked, registers were open, associates were doing their thing. I didn't see any of the filth and the credit card reader worked just fine for me. If you work the wrong shift you can't do your business at Walmart because for example the customer service center closes at 10 PM, even though there are two people back there working! and lights are on but nobody's home lol. actually a little frustrating to come in here to remake a return and to get sorry we/the customer center is not open. :/ But wait there's more... The only good thing about this Walmart is that the prices are cheap. But isn't that the case at all Walmart's? I only go to Walmart when I'm in the area. This one was filthy today. The floors were nasty, shelves in disarray, and food on the floor in various places. The bathrooms were disgusting. This review concentrates on one aspect of the South Charleston Walmart - its bargain sales. I bought a very nice knife set on a fantastic sale deal. It was too good to be true but I figured that Walmart may have overbought the knife set or maybe it was a loss-leader. After a few months, though, I found out that it was on sale because the beautiful plastic handles started to develop numerous BIG cracks. I suppose I can dip the handles in a pool of epoxy and continue to use them, but they won't ever look the same. The steel of the knives is very good, the handles just are not holding up. Moral of the story - If you see a sale at Walmart that is just too good to be true, it really is. read more

Let me begin by saying worst customer service ever, the cashiers checking you out act like they're working there for free, if you ask them a question they answer you with a snarky remark like if they're bothered you can't look for your self, also my son had to use the restroom and they were in horrible shape I'm talking about poop smeared around the actual toilet totally gross another toilet out of order and the one in order had toilet paper all over the floor. My ten year-old son is in the middle of a growth spurt and I wasn't for sure what size Halloween costume to buy him this year. I carefully picked out three large (Master Chief, a Halo Spartan and Black Panther) and two XL generics (a Game of Thrones knock-off and a Ninja). I figured out of those, one would definitely work. I went to the dressing room with my little boy and the employee refused to let him try on the costumes. I tried to explain that he's ten and he's at an awkward size (he plays football and is a stout built right now). She still refused. I asked if he could at least try the bottom parts on, so I could see if the legs would be too tight. She told me absolutely not. I told her that I can not buy a costume without trying it on. I gave her the costumes and went to Target. Target let's kids try on costumes!!! So do the Spirit stores!!! I was appalled by the horrible customer service at this Walmart and the lack of empathy. Plus, it was embarrassing. Why can my child try on costumes everywhere else but Walmart? I'm a middle-class working mom from South Hills, not a common criminal. This experience has really left a bad taste in my mouth. Shame on you, Walmart! Shame on you for not being child-friendly! My son was pretty upset, as well. read more

I have been going to this Wal-Mart since moved here almost two years ago, I must say the employees are rude and I have no idea why they stock during the day, stocking should be done at night. I go to self checkout so I don't have to deal with cashiers. I used to work at Wal-Mart in Aurora Colorado and it was so much better than this Wal-Mart. I was at Walmart 9/13/18 to have a repair on tire. I also had oil change. First of all, technician didn't bother to explain after I waited 3 hours that check tire light was still on etc. about a week ago my father noticed oil on his driveway. My father checked it out and technicians had stripped the oil plug out that was the reason for oil leak. I typically do NOT go to Walmart for repairs for any sorts but it was about convenient that today. NEVER again will I purchase or use automotive department at Walmart! read more

Walmarts are typically the same. A few things stand out about this one that makes it different from others. First, they have a decent selection of WVU gear and at much better prices than other stores that sell collegiate gear. Second, WV allows liquor sales in just about any store that wants to sell it. Walmart is no exception and it is nice to be able to buy liquor inside of Walmart. Finally, the workers and even other customers are polite and pleasant, unlike many other Walmart's I have shopped in. We will continue to visit this Walmart when we are in town. read more

This Walmart, thought my opinion is most likely bias, is one of the best Walmarts I have ever had the great pleasure to shop in. The workers are friendly and welcoming. The range of products and goods offered is spectacular. The tire center, though usually busy, is a great, cheap place. Overall this is an amazing store and I am proud to call it my home Walmart. Walmart...Walmart...Walmart...they advertise themselves as affordable and caring. The store is unprofessional. I had a question about an item they had advertised, but could not locate. It took three employees to figure it out and a fourth to locate it in the back. Another customer requested the same item, which they retrieved from the back. Should sale items not be on the shelf? At the checkouts, which were slow the item did not ring up on sale as it should have. I'd also love to know why so many people who do shop Walmart find it appropriate to wear their pajamas and other inappropriate apparel. I will never shop there again. I have been buying our groceries online at this particular store for a number of months but today will be the last time. My husband went to pick up our order but there was no one there so he tried phoning but the voicemail was full. He went inside to the service desk and there were 4 people standing in line but no one was there to wait on them. My husband found the manager of the grocery pick up and after my husband complained about the service in the store the manager told my husband he needed to treat him with respect. Excuse me??? My husband phoned me and told me what was going on so when I tried phoning them to see what happened I was put on hold then hung up on. This will be the last time I set foot in that store. We will take our business elsewhere and if you're smart you will do the same. read more

Waited 3.5 hours for a single oil change. There was 1 car in front of me! If you want it done right and in a timely manner, go somewhere else. The primary reason I went in was for a simple balance and rotate. I would have even just settled for a rotate, but they denied that as well. I only discovered that when I went to pay when I car was finally finished. If they would have told me they wouldn't have done it when they initially inspected my tires, I would have taken my business elsewhere. read more

This is for the auto. I went to Walmart and paid extra for a full oil change with checks and additions on all my fluids and everything. Well within a week my car was overheating. They had not put any coolant in my car. I paid like 15 or 20 extra specifically for this to be done and it was not. On Sunday, 10 January 2016, at 4:30 PM I went to the deli a\t this Walmart. I was going to order cheese. The employee was sweeping. He took my order. Without changing gloves, he was going to slice the cheese. I did not accept the order. As I went through the checkout line I complained to the cashier, a woman named Hope. She rudely brushed me off. I was making a mountain out of a molehill, As a result of these individuals, I wall never again be in any Walmart. The parking lot is ALWAYS full and congested. It is hard to get help there. Recently most of the prices have been about the same as Kroger's or even higher. Probably the best thing about it is the produce section of the grocery store. You can find a bargain there occasionally. The thing that make me sick is all the Chinese container shipping boxes in the back or the store. You see a package of Wild Caught Alaskan Salmon and you find it is a Chinese product. I wouldn't eat anything from China, because of the filth and lack of health rules there. Wal-Mart used to be an all American store. Now it is an all Chinese store. I shop at least once a week here. Employees in the deli are very helpful and friendly and the food is good. One employee in the camera section was very unfriendly and offered no assistance in locating an item. He told me simply that they did not have the item. He never bothered to look. I found the item myself located one aisle over from where the associate was standing. Glad all the employees are not like him. By the way when I found the item, I made it a point to show him I had what I wanted no thanks to him and I told him where he could find it just in case someone else wanted the same thing.
