This is the worst grocery store in Charleston. You shop a sale but they don't give it to you and they act like you're trying to steal something from them when you call them on it. Try to use a digital coupon and it's the same thing, then you have to waste your time trying to get through to these idiots. This store is the worst Kroger I've ever been to in my life I shop there on a regular basis and tonight I went to pick up a Western Union before the time stated online and other store which is 9pm. I was there at 8:42pm . When I asked if I could speak for the manager was told nobody was willing to speak with me and that I needed to go somewhere else to try and pick up the Western union. I then explained to them that I've been here several times over the past month to pick up Western Unions in every time I've been here it's been 9:00 when did it change they said it's been like that for over a year and a half which is not the case. After being told I could not speak with anybody in charge I called the first Street in Huntington Kroger store and explain the situation because at this point there's no way I'd get there by 9:00 after staying in line for so long to be told no and they told me that there is no excuse for them to have the Western Union shut down at 8:00 that is not the policy and not the rule and that I needed to contact you guys and complain. I not only shop at your store multiple times a week but so do my friends and family church and sports activities that I'm involved with my son in we will no longer be shopping at your store until the issues are resolved and people learn to treat people with better respect. I not only tried to kill her with kindness even though it frustrated me and was beyond polite it just seemed to make her more enraged and more rude that is not how customers should be treated. read more

May 23,2019 Kroger Ashton Place. Worse customer service ever experienced. I was about to check out and saw one checkout line with about 10 to a dozen customers in line. People were getting antsy about the line taking so long to move so I decided to ask a manager if they could do something about help to check out the growing line. Instead, He replied unapologetically that they only have one cashier. Its 7:30 PM , prime hours , and they only have one cashier? I was hoping he'd roll up his sleeve and help the front but instead he nonchalantly left. He couldn't careless. Other customers approached the manager without any success. I go to this Kroger's for the people, the closeness, since I live in South Hills...This morning, i went when it opened...I bought dog food and some meat and chicken...The Bill was over $200.00....I checked myself out...bagged my own stuff...At one point..who I assumed was the manager...middle aged guy in a tie...looked directly at me THREE TIMES...noooo " Good Morning" ....nothing...Threeee Times...This is after the guy in self check looked at me twice, passing by..with nothing... I'm not asking for much...I don't need anyone kissing my bottom...Simple professional courtesy is all I'll ever ask... No ones doing me a favor by showing up to work..Plus, I honestly enjoy the people there...THESE two clods I've never seen before...Thennn, I went to put my cart away...the stalls were all so full..they bleeded out into parking spots...this guy should trade in his bad tie for a management course... I get so frustrated by this store. They are always out of something we need, every single trip we go there! Even during the holidays they'll be out of things like aluminum foil or flour. They were out of our milk the other day. They have every wine under the sun but can't keep up on essential food. Ridiculous. read more

I've always had great luck with the ready-to-eat options here but it was bound to happen eventually... I bought a Buffalo Style Chicken Wrap from the deli and YUCK! I like spicy food, but this thing set me on fire! It also had an overwhelming celery flavor which was just plain weird. I should've got sushi instead. read more

Best Kroger store in Kanawha county. I live closer to 2 other Kroger stores but I sometimes drive the extra 15 minutes to this Kroger's because they have so many more options. As far as stock goes, they seem to have everything. I've never had to bag my own groceries at this store or wait a very long time in line. Kudos to the manager! read more

Strong odor as you enter the door. Was not like this prior to remodeling. Bread aisle is never stocked adequately. Always out of buns and hot rolls and Nature's Own Honey Wheat Bread. Deli has nice selection especially with Boar's Head meats but wait times can often exceed 30-45 minutes. M & M Mart is much fresher and faster. Never enough registers open. I much prefer Kanawha City location, but their deli does not carry my brands of lunch meat. Produce is very nasty, dirty. Could use a bit of pre-wash before being placed on shelves. I found a lot of price gouging in meat department. Pork chops, for example, will read card price $7.92, regular price $9.96, then I am charged a price that is neither of these 2 prices. Happens a lot on chicken and chops. Quality of angus sirloin from meat case is terrible anymore. Paying sirloin prices and getting ground beef or round with extremely high fat content that should not happen. Prices ring up wrong on seasonal merchandise all the time. I think I spend more time at the customer service desk correcting pricing errors than I do shopping. The worst deterrent has to be the ads plastered all over the shopping carts for Kresta Cox Hill though. I can't stand to shop here simply because of these ads. They are abhorrent and obnoxious to say the least. How much did she pay your store to appear on every buggy in the chute? Find a more reputable face to advertise or lose my business for sure. read more
