The store was clean, well-organized, and items were easy to find... Checkout lines could use more cashiers... My main issue: greeters asking for receipts on exit... I'm happy to be greeted when I enter, but I'm not going to stop at the door to hand over a receipt after I paid... If you're worried about theft, use your Loss Prevention team and review your camera footage... That's what they're paid to do... Took truck in to get my trucks tires balanced and rotated . Drop it off went to shop . Came back 1 hour later and truck was not touched after I was told at drop off I was next to. So pissed . So made appointment for fallowing Saturday at 11 . Took truck in for the rotate and balance . Had truck done in 39 minutes . That part was good . Truck shook like crazy for 2 days after , went back to store said It would be 2 hours . Fuming mad I left and went to tire shop instead . The tire shop said balance was off and lug nuts weren't Ruston 2 of my tires . Holy hell , could have caused a lot of damage to my truck and got me seriously injured. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS WALMART FOR ANYTHING. Cost me $80 to have done right . But worth it . Walmart to big to fight over it . terrible experience at Walmart car in Smithfield today. Had an 11 o'clock appointment, the older woman at the counter if someone was able to walk out to my car to see if the tire could be repaired because I had my 8 mother in a wheelchair my grandson in the car.. She said that would not be possible and I would have to wait until it was my turn in queue.. Fine I got everybody the car and into Walmart. 1220 she calls me to say the nail hole could not be repaired and I needed to come back to the counter. After getting everyone checked out I got us all back to the counter. Her and manager Larry seem to be have verbal altercation behind counter in front of all customers She said I would need a new tire and the warranty that I bought two months ago on these new tires would only provide a discount on the new tire. I asked her how long it would take for the new tire to be put on. She said I don't know , we've been waiting for you to come back in a very condescending and rude way which had nothing to do with how long the new tire would take.Another 30 minutes goes by and they called to tell me they cannot find my lock key for the tire. they were the last ones to change the tires on the car. The rude woman at the counter was absolutely no help so I asked to speak to the manager. I spoke to the manager, Larry, who went out to also look in the car for the key. Comes back he can't find it , says some else must've lost it. I explained to him that nobody had touched my tires since they put them on two months ago.. He said nothing I can do ,so after 2 1/2 hours I got absolutely no service done, no sorry I lost your key ,no offer of resolution for any of it. The old lady at the counter was so rude to customers that the other employees were apologizing for her bad behavior. She should not be working in customer service anywhere. Larry needs to go back for more management training and how to resolve issues I will never use that car center again. When I got to the restaurant up the road, I googled what a lock key looked like , looked around the trunk , moved a couple things and lo and behold. There's the damn key. unbelievable!! read more

Self checkout is a joke on the main entrance side. If you're only going to socialize, you're not helping anyone, unless you think you're helping yourself. Same for one person that works at the door checking your receipt. I'm sorry I disturbed your conversation by walking toward the door with my receipt in hand as you hugged and socialized and gave me a a crappy look. As far as Walmart's go, I can't find fault with this one. Large flat parking lot with clearly marked spaces, smooth parking lot surface. One-way clearly marked entrance and one-way out exit. I needed to return one item. There were only two people ahead of me. The first was quick, but the woman in front of me tried even my patience. Terry the only Customer Service provider wasn't rude, but she wasn't overly nice. She simply told her what a return without a receipt would be. And that she needs all the parts of an item to return it. She even helped her look for the missing parts. Terry wore her masks fully covering mouth and nose. It must make her super hot as she wore double fans on a yoke around her neck blowing full-force. She did a good job keeping her cool despite the challenges. While I saw a lot of different products for sale I never saw the dual fans. This Walmart covers everything from air filters, beads, chocolate chip cookies, drugs, electronics, food, games, holiday cards, ink, jewelry, Kodiak protein mixes, lightbulbs, m&ms, news magazines, oranges, plants, queen sized sheets, reading glasses, seeds, socks, tennis shoes, underwear, Valentines, windshield washer fluid, yoga pants, to Zing Zang Bloody Mary mix. And of course lots more! This super center has groceries, pharmacy, plus all the regular departments there is a bank and hair place inside this Walmart as well. Who ever planed the set up of the Smithfield, nc Walmart should be fired!!!! I can't believe how messed up the store is. NOTHING is where it should be. May 24, 2023. I was threatened to be quiet about this incident but I will not. There was an incident at the Walmart in Smithfield North Carolina. Where a customer came in and complained that there were a pair of dirty underwear in her kids cake box. One of the employees that did not like the customer went to go get the cake & put her dirty underwear inside the cake box. When asked by management the prior day she laughed about it & admitted that they were hers & laughed and mocked the customer and made numerous jokes about the incident. read more

this is the worst Wal-Mart I've ever known, my mom worked at the Walmart in North Carolina for 28 years as a training coordinator so I know the processes in the procedures. I've tried to call for one hour and 30 minutes with no answer and when I did get an answer after hour and 30 minutes they tried to pass the buck, which is totally unprofessional. So, if possible, bypass their number and call directly to corporate, get the store number from the website because this right here does nothing people a place to vent. I am a Hispanic lady. I was checking out at the fast express lane #38. The Employee working that morning. " old white Lady with short white hair" was on her phone constantly. I asked her twice to help me. She did not want to come to my register or help, she kept saying I had to do it myself. I asked if she could please help me to look up an item and she told me, you have to select look up item wish I did , then she insinuated that I didn't know how to spell tomato started to yell out loud T for tomato and when I confronted her that she was discriminating me she yelled at me and told me she did not have to wait on me and she was not going to so she walked away. when I asked for a store manager they sent a black lady to help me. This store has some of the rudest associates ever. One of them I believe works at the self checkouts and her name is Kelsi. She was so sassy back towards me after I had asked her a question. Very disappointed. Had an oil change and tire rotation at Smithfield wslmart and came home. Couple hours later while taking out trash, I notice a little pool of oil under my car engine. Took back to Walmart and found out the filter was not on properly causing a leak . I also had to clean up the oil in my new concrete driveway. ALWAYS busy, shelves never stocked and a lot of their produce needs to meet the chopping block, but not the one in your kitchen. Employees are generally friendly, but if you can, check out the Clayton or Zebulon Walmart where parking is easily available & shelves are stocked on a regular basis. read more

My least favorite Walmart. Always packed and lines are long. I rather drive a few extra miles and go to the Walmart in Zebulon or Clayton.

I've noticed a great improvement in this store in the past month--a new manager who has tackled the problems. Lines are not as long and the store is CLEAN. He's been right there getting the produce area fixed and getting the shelves stocked. They have always had some good and helpful employees, but management was a stumbling block IMHO. This manager (who came from Zebulon by the way) is really making a difference. By the way, their optician is TOPS. read more

I was on vacation at Lake Gaston and we don't have cable so we went to the wal mart in Roanoke Rapids and bought a tv antenna to pick up a few channels. We got back and couldn't get it to work. We were not told when we bought it that we needed a receipt to return it. I told the assistant manager I had my card I bought it off of and she stated she couldn't return it unless I had a receipt. I said no one told me that when I bought it and she pointed at a sign that's behind the customer service desk. The customer service I received does not even register on the radar. I own a company with over 300 team members and didn't get here by treating our customers like there trash. I will not buy anything else at wal mart in my future.
