Houseplants were well maintained, and the offerings were adequate, but the selection of Cactus and Succulents was not the best. Some plants had last years price on the tag, but when going through checkout, the new price was charged. It was cheaper, so it wasn't an issue. Prices are good at this store and many other Walmarts because they reduce the price of seasonal items they want to get rid of, in addition to their regular low, everyday price. read more

Today I went grocery shopping at the Shelby Walmart and there was a dog there with its humans. There is a sign on the door when you enter Walmarts that said no pets, service animals welcome. This dog was around food which is against Michigan law. Service animals are well trained, this dog was not. I complained to customer service but I am not sure anything was done. I know its difficult to approach people but this could get out of control quickly. This is generally a pretty good store other than people not paying attention to signs. read more

This is for the bakery department. I simply came in on a Thursday to this location to order bday cake for Saturday of this week. Nohad the associate that works in the bakery department(who has also given me stops with ordering previous cakes meaning she has done this before )she mentioned that I can't order a cake this weekend they are booked out . I think the employees here hate their job because not one will help you. If you ask someone for help they usually shrug or say "that's not my department" or "I don't know." Make me wonder how high the turnover rate is. Are the cheap prices worth the extra time it takes to even find things you are looking for? I admit it is a really big store and you can find bargains. Just don't expect to get much help from employees. I went to another one on Hall and actually got some help from two employees, so I am unsure if it was just a busy and bad day (Sunday). They have a Subway if you like to eat there.... I am particularly biased because I can't stand the smell of Subway. I received 2 incorrect items and I tried contacting the department right away to get it fixed while the driver was still possibly out so myself and whoever's order I got could get swapped back, but your people have absolutely NO idea what they're doing!!!! I only shop at Walmart for cleaning supplies, or once in awhile food items that are on sale from the local sales paper. other than that I'm a number 1 Kroger shopper. Went in to buy a gallon of milk on sale, 1.78 and Holmes air filters for my purifier. Walmart stocks them instead of spending the money for mail order. Cleaning supplies the value is a lot cheaper than buying at Meijer. Would have to compare my cleaning supplies prices with Menards. now there's a store that I need to review and Shop at soon. The upside is the price. The every day low prices. The customer service takes a beating for the price. Some locations can be invasive with their loss prevention and checking receipts more than once before exiting the store. These stores can be messy and there often aren't workers ready to help customers. Of course we all know they essentially make you the cashier and bagger. read more

Went to buy a large basketball hoop setup and needed help because it was too big for a cart. Could not find any staff in the sporting goods area to assist. However, the gentlemen from the tire center saw me wandering aimlessly and asked if I needed help. Told him my plight and he said he would assist. He found a large pallet cart and not only helped me load it, but brought it to the checkout and then outside where he waited for me to drive my van up to the door. Wow. He went above and beyond. Purchased a cake for my daughter's birthday. Pretty two tier pink cake. It was beautiful. So so pretty. And then we cut into it..... it was sooo sweet, too sweet. Everyone got a slice. People barely finished their slice. No one wanted seconds. So bummed because i loved how pretty this cake looked but it just didnt hit the mark in taste. I think i need to stick to Kroger cakes. My husband bought 3 pairs of work jeans in the morning. One pair did not fit, and due to covid the fitting room was closed. In the late afternoon he took them back to exchange them or get his money back. The service department was closed. He located a manager and asked her to get someone to help him. The manager said come back in an hour and someone will be back from lunch. He had no shopping to do, to come back in an hour. Funny how it's so easy for them to have enough people at check out to take your money, but they don't have anyone to refund it. I called corporate and they contacted the shelby twsp. store, which called us back. After a lot of excuses, Jordan the manager said he could take care of it for us if we came in sometime today. So why could the manager not takecare of it yesterday???? Think twice about what you buy there, think twice about shopping there. read more

Pulled up around 5 to pick up a door dash order. First, we called the number on the sign and the phone was not answered. Once we finally were helped by a worker (who I had to track down on foot by the way) we sat waiting for about 30 minutes. After all that time had passed we decided to call the store phone number. This also went straight to voicemail. After almost an hour of waiting we were informed our pick up wasn't even ready and that we should just cancel it. When we entered the facility there were no shopping carts available and we recommend to the employee standing at the front door to get more carts for the shoppers and she told us that someone was on it and when we left an hour later there were no carts still and no one was outside getting them. I needed to grab something and use the restroom. The frontman -- I don't know what you call the yellow vested individuals who wait at the front -- was walking back to the front of the entrance as i walked in. He was completely rude. He says what he says and I couldn't hear him. I told him I had to use the bathroom and he yells "bathroom is closed but you can get out". He claims the bathrooms are already cleaned and he already got in trouble. I asked why. He says "because people like you like to come in and mess up the bathrooms". I don't know what he means by "people like you" but I know that there wasn't much to gather in terms of differences besides physical features-- and yes, age and race were definitely different here. That was the most belittling experience I ever had and it only last maybe 30 seconds. Didn't care enough for a name but he was an older caucasian male with a height of at least 6'0 hollering at me because of what someone else did. I'll call higher ups in the morning because that's no way to tell someone to leave. honestly, I can't believe i have to bring this up but I have this problem or similar EVERY time the service personnel in question is white. But because they are so disorganized your items are in the wrong slots. I have to admit this place is a go to spot for our home and business. I probably spent $12,000 a year here or so. I went in for a full service oil change but did not receive one. As a past TLE employee I know what to look for and what they are supposed to do. They did not do majority of the work. I had to take it back in for them to vacuum it. The window was not washed. I asked them specifically to check my front differential and they did not. When asked why he didn't he said "I checked but everything is ok" he didn't even touch it. If they do something they leave a little blue line from bolt onto case. They do that for rear diff, transfer case, oil filter, drain plug, etc. there was no blue mark and didn't look like it was touched. They claim there was only 7 grease fittings but I know there are more. When asked to double check he said he found them all. Umm. Ok I guess I'll do it myself then. Lazy lazy people. read more

The problem is now that they have forced you to shop there, they know they do not have keep adequate staffing, even when the place is packed which is 24/7. What are you going to do? Go somewhere else? Ha! And out of 20 checkout lanes, you will be lucky if 3 are open. Do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else, even if the drive is a bit further or you have to pay more. I wouldn't even give this store 1 star but I had to. Let's start with all of this. Due to its location they charge more than other Walmart. On a good day during peak hours they may have 7-8 registers open. Normally just 4 and the self scan is usually closed. The shelves are never fronted. Stock is just scattered about in aisles, end caps or wherever. The evening stock doesn't seem to happen as it's supposed to. Sporting goods is nearly non existent, interesting how locations very close in proximity get new stock regularly however it's been almost a year since this location has. You can never find someone actually working in sporting goods. Produce here doesn't seem fresh, more like rejects or hold overs from the other stores. The parking lot is always a disaster, you can't park anywhere without seeing carts everywhere, the cart people seem to AWOL. The majority of the associates are rude and not to be found within their respective departments. I have seen the GM several times along with subordinate managers and they are as rude as their associates, never once have I seen them ask a customer if they needed help, offered assistance to a customer or associate or even say hello as they made rounds. Shoes and clothing are downright scattered, single shoe boxes, mid matched sizing, clothing tagged as wrong sizes along with the disaster that looks like it ripped through these departments. This store is a disaster, I have been to a multitude of Walmart along the eastern seaboard and as far west as Arkansas; including the original Walmart. Any community should be ashamed to have this multitude of blight and sham in their neighborhood. I can no longer shop at this location, I now drive at least 20 min to another Walmart or shop at Meijer. On the bright side though at least the 510 runs directly to the parking lot.
