We came to get a few things for the trip and saw a good deal on candy. This Walmart was bright, very well laid out and very clean. One of the worst Walmarts you can go to. Constantly understaffed, does not have clean aisles, and nobody will pick up the phone. The cashiers all have attitudes and are rude. Walmart Henrietta has a very busy parking lot in a lot of angry people in said parking lot and is very busy on the inside as well. However I did find what I needed and it's not a bad Walmart and it has stuff and despite being extremely busy and having a long line for the self-checkout, I'm still glad it exists. Been too many Walmart stores all over the US, some are very good summer terrible. This one is somewhere in the middle and below. Let's start with the service on the floor. Stop chasing the employees and hope that if you do catch one who is he knows the answers. Second, locks on items. I really found no logic in lock in some of the items and some not. Third, check out. Not organized enough and not fast enough. The next time I will come here for sure will be closer to open time. Upon entering the store I was hit with a very distinct smell.... For those of you who know it... I describe it as Spoiled Milk. I think it might be from mopping with a dirty old mop head. Anyway, I went specifically to purchase 3 specific jello brand jello flavors since their selection at Walmart has always been far greater than wegmans. Turns out that is no longer true. Walmart is what it is. This particular Walmart has been through quite a few changes over the years and is usually well-stocked. I shop Walmart periodically for items that I cannot get at Wegmans, Aldis & Trader Joes. Sure, Walmart gets dinged for carrying non American made goods, but I hardly think they're alone in that department. I do know that they can wield an ugly stick when dealing with products and vendors. A single decision made by a buyer can make or break a company. But that's now why I shop there. This Walmart is fairly clean & convenient. Lines are seldom long & the cashiers are friendly. As far as Walmarts go, I'd rather shop here than go to the Walmart in Gates or on Hudson Avenue. read more

Alot of bad reviews for this Walmart. My review is specifically for curbside pickup which I use usually twice a month. They have been quick and efficient. Substitutions are decent when they need do a substitute. I don't get produce from here often, but the produce I have gotten has been fresh and not damaged. The staff members that load the car have been helpful and have not loaded incorrectly. read more

Was standing in the line at self checkout. I was the next person in line and the self checkout attendant started checking out the person behind and me even though I only had 2 items. I said something to the attendant and he said "Oh, she's an employee." Nice to know that employees are privileged. Also I'm glad customers can two whole shopping carts filled in self check out at the small registers. read more

I use this Walmart as it's closest to home, it's a Supercenter so it has groceries as well as the regular traditional merchandise. I like the store as it always has my toiletries at great prices, as well as general merchandise for low prices. It used to be kind of dumpy, but I think they're cleaning it up, as of late it hasn't been so bad. Parking is plentiful, it's mostly self check out, but they do have a few cashiers open checking out customers. Overall, it's not bad, it's Walmart, slightly lower than Target, with lower prices. read more

I find it fascinating that people can avoid Walmart altogether. Though possible, I imagine that they are driving around from store to store specializing in specific merchandise as opposed to just dealing with the masses that flood Walmart on any given day. I confess that I am just as those described above. Although I generally try to avoid Walmart, I confess, good deals can be found here and as a result, trips here are inevitable. Small doses or late night visits are key to having a reasonably sane experience here. Henrietta is probably my go to Walmart location in town. It is conveniently located near everything. Checkout lines are usually long on the weekends, but move quickly. The clientele and customer service seem relatively polite here. They usually have all of the typical Walmart products. Lately what I'm digging the most about Walmart are the clearance sections. I almost always find something exciting and useful in their clearance section. Final tip, avoid peak times here. read more

There are many reasons why people hate Walmart; because it sells cheap goods from China and third world countries, because it hurts local businesses, or that it represents a major corporation. Ignoring those aforementioned reasons, I have my own as to why I dislike Walmart, and this specific location. First of all, the prices are low, everyone knows that, but that doesn't always ensure great quality. Sure, the TV in the back may say Sony on it, but it isn't one of the mainstream models. Many of the things you see in the electronics section are value oriented store exclusives, which are inherently inferior to what you would get at a larger specialty store. Not only that, but the savings aren't as significant as one would like to believe. Getting past the fact that a lot of the merchandise here isn't up to snuff, I'll often see poorly maintained displays, miscategorized items, or damaged goods. Take a walk over to the pet section and look at the fish, no, they're not sleeping. Sure, the organic produce here was rated better than the nation's most popular organic grocer Whole Foods in a blind test, but why even bother when Wegmans is around the corner and offers a larger selection? Honestly, I don't see the point or value of Walmart. Sure, the 24 hours is nice if you need something like a car battery, or a Wii controller, but this store seems redundant and a waste of space. Need clothing? Marshall's is across the street. Groceries? Wegmans, duh. A TV? You can wait until the morning and go to Best Buy. House paint? Try Home Depot or Lowes, Glidden paint isn't that great to begin with. If I hate Walmart so much, why do I shop here? On a few occasions I have been caught in a bind, needing spray paint and poster board to finish a project with a tight deadline, or a replacement bulb for a tail light... in those situations, Walmart was there, but under normal circumstances, I drive right on by. read more

This is actually a Super WalMart, the king of all WalMarts. Conveniently located in Henrietta around the back of the plaza that holds Wegmans and across the street from the Marketplace Mall. I took one star away because sometimes the staff here can get a little ghetto and more often than not there's very long lines at the cashiers and many empty cashiers stations that should be up and running. This Walmart keeps itself pretty clean and well stocked and for those of you who haven't been to a super WalMart before, its the same giant department store you've come to know plus a full sized supermarket. Although Wegman's is the best they aren't the cheapest and when I was in college I almost always did my grocery shopping here. The prices on food are the same as with everything else in the store, unbeatable. It's a very weird sensation to get a pound of deli meat and then go grab a DVD on the other side of the store. Anyway Walmart is the classic American corporation crushing local mom and pop businesses with their low low prices but this is Henrietta were mom and pop moved away years ago and low prices and big selections are always going to be a big plus. read more

Disgusting trash location. Nothing is organized, every box of makeup is opened or used, along with every other item scattered everywhere. God forbid you ask a Walmart employee for help without a dirty look and rude customer service experience. It's a fairly large store but it was so hard to find what you're looking for because the signage wasn't very clear. I was looking for bathroom mirrors and they really didn't have much. Most of the area was empty and not restocked. In any case, we were also directed to the wrong section too by an employee who obviously didn't know where there items were. Oh well. read more

Pretty much every store is a little bit out of the way for me so if I can't get it at Wegmans I usually do without but sometimes a Walmart trip is in order. Every now and then I feel bad for Walmart for always getting such a bad rap and people talking crap about Walmart but then I go there and I remember why people are always saying bad things. Of all the walmarts in the area this one seems to be the largest and has a lot to offer. I tend to get the same things every time I am here and they generally fall into the category of make up and health and wellness. In those areas they certainly have a lot to offer and at good prices. I don't generally get grocery's from here because I love Wegmans and I would never betray Wegmans like that, but sometimes I have to. For the most part their prices are pretty low on groceries but I always go to the Wegmans app to compare prices before I purchase anything. Also, Wegmans name brand is way better. Walmart has also stepped up its game in the clothing department. I generally find 1 cute thing when I go. The quality isn't the best but I think that is going to be obvious when you pay $5.00 for a pair of jeggings. The biggest problem comes from other people who shop at Walmart. They have a total disregard for their surroundings. They don't care if they make a mess or if they are loud and obnoxious and it seems Walmart had given up on trying to clean up after people or keep the peace. The floors are dirty and a lot of areas are super dusty and messy and will forever be that way. In the end, I think Walmart stopped trying because regardless of the mess and dirtiness people are still going to go to Walmart. The parking lot is large but could use a freshening up. There are a large amount of cashiers but they are always slow. Also, the conveyor belts are way too small and you can hardly put anything on them which probably holds the line up because then you have to rush to the other side to get your bags because they ran out of room but you are still trying to get items out of your cart... It is a wreck. Overall, I feel like Walmart is a dirty little secret for all of us. We all wish we didn't go but we do and we generally keep it a secret because it is awful there. read more

F-U WALMART! ..ok i boycotted Walmart many moons ago when I had went to this location for some things early morning and found the parking lot looking like there had been a fair that just left like 10 min before I got there. Then after going inside the girl loading the shelves in one department didn't even bother to unwrap the stuff just threw it up there in a bundle, curdled cottage cheese that had been sitting out...smh that's just a few things. Unfortunately I was low on funds and really needed a computer desk. So I had it shipped here..went to pick it up. LA GRUMPY LADY: "Can I help you" ME: "Yes, I ordered a desk and need to pick it up" LA MISERABLE LADY: *lets out a big sigh* "Well its gonna be a minute" She proceeds to back room...20 minutes go by.do do do do I'm pretty annoyed but haven't lost my patience yet She then returns and starts helping some old lady like we never spoke. WTF? So some other dude seeing my "hulk" face ask me if I'm being helped and he proceeds to get the info and get my desk in 2 min. I don't care if Walmart was selling everything off the shelf for $1 ...I wont do it. I wont return. I'm not going to say much about either the merchandise nor the clientele (both of which tend towards the lower-end), but will stick to issues with THIS store in particular. Wal-Mart is like going to the dentist; you don't want to go, but twice a year you have to. First is the odd layout of the parking lot, although having become used to it, I now know just where to turn, and where to NOT turn. The biggest issue in this lot, though, are the multitudes of abandoned carts, blocking otherwise needed spaces. This happens any day of the week, any time of the year. Next, upon entering the building, you will need a cart. For some reason, they push them in from the outside, forcing you to grab a cart from the front. When you get a cart, you have about a 1 in 2 chance of getting one with a busted or frozen wheel, which means that a LOT of people grab their first cart, travel 6 feet, decide it's junk, and leave it there to get another cart. As a result, you need to navigate around about 8-10 carts sitting in random positions just to enter the main doors. Help is next to unseen, except in the electronics department. A lot of devices in that department are behind locked cabinets, still in the box, with no way for you to see what they look like. read more

They say cheapness has its perks...this isn't the case with Walmart. A lot of people already know that Walmart itself has a terrible reputation for its poor service and low quality of products. So are these just a big rumor that was made up to draw people away from an otherwise...global corporation? Why of course not! I have had medicore to horrendous experiences at every single Walmart I've been too with none offering any redeeming qualities, except for the occasional "good deals" on select items. This Walmart? Somewhere in between the line of distaste and awfulness. While I wasn't surprised by the unwelcome glare I recieved walking in, it wasn't that dirty and seemed to be nicely organized, but that is where the good things end. Further into the store, I happened to catch a whiff of some horrible smell, which was like rotting meat and a sweaty t-shirt. Being one that's on a strict budget since a layoff, earlier in the year, I've been finding myself visiting stores like WalMart, KMart and Target to get some of my essentials. I was helping a friend move in Rochester, and managed to forget toothbrush, toothpaste and the stuff I need to care for myself during the stay. We made a trip to Walmart to pick up what we needed for necessities to get through the weekend. Drinks? Cheaper than a convenience store. Toiletries? I thought Walgreens had decent prices. These prices were better! As for inferior products, I also tend to disagree with some of the comments. I bought a LARGE microwave oven from a KMart in 1990, it is STILL working today. One of my televisions had the power button give out after 17 years (the remote was lost after one of my earlier moves). The only thing that WalMart manages to do is keep a commission-driven salesperson from trying to force something on a person that can't afford it. I remembered one of my favorite visits to a Sun TV store for a living room television and dvd player. The guy tried to start off a schpiel of a BETTER tv than what I was asking for... "All I want to know is if you have the television that I'm asking for. I can understand the fact that you are paid by commission. So let's cut to the chase. I'm not interested in anything else. Give me the television that I'm asking for, and it's the easiest commission you'll make today. Continue with anything but, and I walk out the door with nothing." He got the picture. I got my tv and vcr with no further problems. Read up where "more expensive tv" is made. Then check the "least expensive". They're both usually not made in the USA, and most likely made in the same place. I'll let you make the conclusions. If you want to believe more of what the salesperson tells ya, it's YOUR money you're spending. read more

I've been in Walmarts all over the country. This is the worst managed store I've seen (as is the Sam's club across the street). Yes, we go here because it's convenient to all the area shopping... but we're doing that less and less. The store is hugely understaffed. Most of the time the checkout is 5-6 people with loaded carts ahead of you. They want you to do self-checkout... but even that isn't staffed enough so if you get a "see associate" for something that doesn't register, you're toast. Because of the understaffing, there's often stuff all over the store in the wrong place. Leaving today there were at least 10 full carts at the front of the store (maybe more?) filled with items that needed to be restocked... including things like raw chicken. I think that might be the last straw for us! read more

If I had a dollar for every time I have bought a food item from this store only to come home and see that it wasn't properly sealed, I would definitely have enough money not to care about having to drive back to Walmart and return my entirely melted Ice Cream with the seal ripped off. It happens far too often, specially with the Arctic Chill pints. Here's the deal with food, even if you return the item with the receipt, regardless of the reason for the return, you can only exchange the items with another food purchase. The store isn't clean, it's just a cold hard fact. The place is often in disarray, shelves unorganized, aisles filled with clutter. Last week I came in around 10 and couldn't get down two of the food aisles because there were staff members huddled around some supplies that were completely blocking the aisles. For the last month, yes month, I have come in looking for a particular flavored coffee they always have. They haven't gotten a new Dunkin' Donuts coffee shipment in for a month.
