It's none of my business but on 2 separate occasions (today ay 2:00 PM one of them) I observed folks going thru the self check-out without scanning anything! Today this couple had two (2) full shopping carts (a whole lot more than 15 items) and they were stuffing things into plastic bags as fast as their arms could move. Not a single scan. I stood there and watched them. I brought this up with your "security" guy checking receipts at the door and he seemed puzzled as to what he should do. Hey I stopped shopping weekly at Walmart after they implemented the 15 items or less self checkout. I did stop in today for about 6 random items. While at checkout at self checkout I chose cash back because I wasn't entirely sure yet if I wanted cash back yet. So for about 3 seconds I looked at the cash back selection and I was about to choose $20 when the screen changed. On the main grocery terminal it said $99.63 or whatever. I didn't choose any cash back at all and the machine chose for me. It spit 4 $20 bills out at me. So I went to customer service and told them. They wanted to charge $3 just to put the money back..... luckily the supervisor (I'm assuming) told the cashier to waive the fee. I think I'm entirely done with Walmart at this point. I went from spending about $160 weekly to now not even wanting to go in at all. read more

We went to Walmart at Pottstown to buy a few thing including Philadelphia Eagles gear for Super Bowl party. We looked everywhere for Super Bowl party supplies like plates, cups just to make a few. We found nothing, an employee guided us to a section which she said might have SB ITEMS, but to no avail. They had nothing SB but if you want a green T-shirt they do have St Patricks shirts. Absolutely, Nothing for the Super Bowl especially the fact that a Pennsylvania team "THE EAGLES" are in it! They should really be a-shame! I gave them two stars only because they have good prices and we found chicken wings. read more

Countless times during covid and several times since in-store re-opened, I have ordered for delivery and received the complete wrong order. It makes NO sense and I am so angry. Was in Walmart yesterday for first time in awhile .they have 20 lanes 2 registers open lines down the aisle and self checkout. So an employee comes up saying it's 15 items or less (self checkout my daughter in-law and I sharing a cart he tells us it's 15 items and we need to get another cart and separate the items (it was his tone) No we don't so his coworker tells me not to curse their employees which I didn't but was getting ready to curse her and didn't. Si scanning my items the register stopped apparently they have it have it set to stop at 15. Again the 2 registers open lines were down the aisles bur mind you 4 ppl standing at self checkout just stands there instead opening another register to speedup the process for shoppers. So I asked when did the 15 item thing start after thinking about the girl said 3days ago. Right before a holiday when the store will be packed. I understand this is an attempt to stop shoplifting but if someone is going to steal the self checkout being set at 15 items isn't going to stop it. The self checkout is supposed to be a convenient thing..This is the WORST store ever and they will never get my business again. What was the point of expanding with all these registers and none are never open the two or three that are have senior citizens (I don't have anything against the seniors) but with lines down the aisles and 3 or 4 ppl standing around the self checkout area is just dumb to me. Let me start by saying I try not to shop at Walmart. I disagree with some of their practices. That being said, I was in a pinch and stopped at my local Walmart. Right away I wished I hadn't. We are mid-COVID and like many stores, Walmart is dictating how shoppers come and go from the store. Unlike other stores, this Walmart has everyone coming and going from the same entrance, having closed the other two. This seems like poor planning when you are trying to encourage people to maintain a safe distance. There were also several shoppers walking around with no mask, even though it is currently required to be warn in PA. This is the opposite of what I am hoping to experience these days. I thought a lot of things were picked over generally speaking - but I'm guessing this is a high volume store. Not a bad experience. The cosmetic area is very extensive and clean. Much nicer and better selection than any other Walmart I've been to. Other Walmart stores I've been to have had the cosmetics that are open, box smashed up, used. Not here. The store is clean too. My daughter did say that going through the aisles here is "mayhem". That made me bust out laughing! Lots of pushy customers & God forbid you have to get by someone. Most people I encountered were pleasant. Staff seemed great, our cashier packed my glass carefully. I observed staff assisting customers. No complaints. read more

If it were possible to give a business zero stars then the Wal-Mart on Shoemaker would earn it. God where do you start to explain why, let's see: 1. Customer service is a joke I cannot begin to count how many times I've watched people steal Merchandise, break stuff, eat product, walk out with product, etc. none of the staff cares, and further more if you listen to the staff they will normally be talking about it with each other. I've overheard cashiers complaining about the managers and their lack of care, their bullying to get people to take shifts, and not scheduling properly for the business to save expenses for increase in management bonus. It's a joke and the employees are clearly not happy. 2. Checkout: Oh my god, do not go here anywhere between the hours of 4-8; they will close self checkout and only have two registers open while 5-8 employees stand and watch as the lines wrap the store. I'm not kidding; on 10-20-19 at 7:43 the lines got so bad it wrapped to the deli so they opened one extra register bringing it to three open total. And the leads just watch and stare no one cares and when you say something to the employees they'll tell you yeah we know our managers don't schedule extra and make us take down self checkout. Isn't that the point of self check out to not have to schedule so many cashiers? So why close it at peak times? 3. Store Product Availability: empty shelves galore I don't think in the year I have lived in Pottstown they have ever had full shelves they are always out of stock on 40% of their product in grocery and food. 4. Cleanliness: Store is typically always in disarray and you'll find empty packages all over from people stealing because no one is working on the floor to help customers and clean I don't think I've ever seen people cleaning even at night or 1-2 am. Overall it's horrible and most people here will tell you that, had a lengthy conversation while waiting in line last night with another customer who said how he called the corporate office and they were going to get involved and never did. Don't waste your gas, drive to Boyertown. read more

The recent remodel here has helped somewhat, but it's still a Walmart and I really question where they find some of their employees. Like most Walmart's I've been in, this one is not really any different in terms of overall cleanliness feel or neatly stocked shelves. And by that I mean, it always feel dirty and product shelves are a mess (unless they are empty, in which case I guess you can't call them a mess)! It's not the cleanness Wal-Mart around, nor friendliness. I use it because of the convenience. They store has always had a theft problem; you see package from what people eat or took. This Wal-Mart really need to zone up better, if they would hire more and do the old school 10 ' rule, maybe there would be less theft. Employees don't want to be there and complain about working conditions. Merchandise is laying all over. A lot of kids there not to shop but to cause havoc. Language used is out of control. I am ashame to bring my daughter there. Only area that seems somewhat well ran is the supermarket. read more

Extremely rude deli clerks named Missy and Lee. As usual, they were out of the cheese I go there to buy. Manager said to give me a comparable cheese for the price of what I normally buy. They continually made rude and condescending remarks to each other about me as if I wasn't standing right there. If they don't know how a business works and what the cost of good customer service is, they should not be working there. I know if I heard one of my employees talk about a customer like that, they'd be gone in a heartbeat. Missy was the instigator. Extremely low class individual. This Walmart just completed a renovation adding a grocery store. The store itself is clean and what you would expect for a Walmart. The only odd thing was the shelves needed stock. Many things were empty or almost empty. It could have been they were getting ready to fill the shelves, but it still looked strange. The only negative is the same negative that seems to plague most Walmarts I've been to--the lack of registers open. It's very frustrating to wait in a long line and see 15 registers or more closed. read more

Pottstown Walmart is nothing but dictatorship. 3 hours & the woman argued with me & denied it was 3 hours. I'm older disabled woman & I was trying to get a virgin mobile card for my friend to get their essurence phone on. I was getting medical calls coming in so I had to hang up. I was appalled at the length of time & the woman denying that. This store has given me a hard time in the past when I purchased 2 major appliances with insurance. They refused to look at new shampooer even though I said I would pay for it. My friend fixed it very easily. Walmart is the nastiest place. They have no place outside for elderly or disabled to be protected from weather when waiting for the bus. read more

I'm at this walmart all the time because it's so close to my house. Everytime I go there, I get instantly annoyed. They are NEVER fully stocked, they are dirty and unorganized. I go there for shampoo and everytime, they either have the shampoo I need but not the conditioner, or they have the conditioner without the shampoo. Items are thrown around. Things are in front of the wrong labels so when I get to the register the price is different. Im not going to get started on the bathrooms. During the busy hours of the day, they literally have 2 registers open and like 10 people In each line. Something has to get done about all these issues. It's ridiculous. read more

It's usually well-stocked and I've never experienced the ridiculously long lines that Walmart is usually known for. One section I do try to avoid is the cosmetic section. This Walmart has the worst customer service within the entire store. Did quick stop to photo center to print out a picture for niece's homework assignment. No one at photo lab, sign displayed to go to electronics. Went to electronics. Woman angry saying she didn't get her break yesterday and won't be missing it today. Refused to check us out. Waited for other guy to come. Guy didn't know what to do or how to ring up purchase. Don't told us to go back to photo center even though we knew no one was there. Mind you, I had my disabled father in law with me who had to walk through the store because all the motorized carts were missing. All this for 62 cent purchase. My family and I shop at this Walmart regularly because it's the closest one to where we live. We try to get in and out as quick as possible. BUT that's nearly impossible since they only ever have at maximum 2 lines open and the one (sometimes the only ) line being the 20 items or less line. If you have a lot of items and it's the only one open you will be guaranteed to feel like you're a horrible person by the customers behind you. read more

Since its completion we have shopped with a list of 30 or so items we only find maybe 20 this is not a one time occurrence this happens everytime we shop at least once a week .We 're going to have to go back to the walmart in Bechtelsville, their shelves are much better stocked. read more

I stop here at 730 am on my way to work from time to time. First it's hard to find a place to park, not because it's busy but because the losers from last night left their shopping carts all over the parking lot and nobody has cleaned them up yet. Usually OK when self checkout opened last week it was not and they only had one teller open and we were 6 deep waiting for a woman paying with 5 different food stamp cards. They finally opened up another line and a scummy foul mouth woman tried to cut between me in the guy behind me saying "she had the right to because he was not standing close enough to me"... This is the type of people you get here... Week before lady flew throug the stop sign and almost hit me in the parking lot when I asked why she drove thru the stop sign she just said something about her baby being sick and having to go (she looked like she was 60) though the missing or brown teeth maybe made her look older. Another issue is they allow people in there to try to hussle you with high pressure sales. when I go to grab some milk I don't need somebody trying to push dish TV on me.. Gave 2 stars instead of one because there is a employee often in there in the morning, who is one of the nicest people I ever met, always happy always says hi always has a joke or talks about sports or the weather. Terrible! The store is OK, not great but better than some (other Walmarts). It is good enough. The personnel on the other hand... I live extremely close to it and this store is one of the few Walmarts that carry a few hard to find things I buy. However, I have sworn an oath to never, ever step foot in the door again. I will now drive 20 minutes out of my way to go to a Walmart where the people care about having a job and helping the customers. I used to go to Pottstown Walmart at least once and sometimes as many as four times a week because it was convenient. Yes, I have met some extremely nice and helpful people, but the bad ones have far outweighed, and finally tipped the scale. Tip one: Don't act like helping a customer is a burden, especially when you are at the Customer Service desk and all they want is to Pick Up a Site-to-Store order. It is one of the easier transactions. Tip two: Put someone at Customer Service that actually knows what customer service is and how to provide it. Tip three: Customer Service stand in (AKA "I'm the only one here and I am waiting to go back to my register"), if there are four people in line and you are waiting for a manager to give you advice about the first customer, greet or at least make POLITE eye contact with the other customers in line and see if there is anything you can do to help them. DO NOT PUT YOUR HEAD DOWN ON THE COUNTER LIKE YOU ARE TAKING A NAP. REALLY? Tip four: Store Manager, Care about what your people are doing, they make you look terrible. read more
