Made appointment for oil change. Arrived prior to time to be told they are installing 4 tires on a truck ahead of me and it will be at least an hour before they can start my oil change. I cancelled the appt while I was there and left. This has happened before. Whats the point of making an appt if WM doesnt honor the time slot? You send texts to me reminding of the appt. Also why cant you text me if there is a problem honoring the appt time. I am tired of being disappointed by WM. Give me a reason to continue to be a customer otherwise I have had it. read more

This store was conveniently located just down the street from the hotel where we stayed. Due to weather conditions we were delayed so we decided to go to Walmart to stock up on things we needed. The store was huge and well stocked with products. the prices seemed fair and comparable to our prices at home. read more

I've used the pickup service at this location for awhile now, but after my experience on 5/18/25, I will no longer go to this location for anything. Yesterday, I was called by an employee, yelled at and hung up on. So thoroughly confused I called back because it sounded like he started in the middle of the conversation or had confused me with someone else. I was again yelled at but this time I asked for the pickup manager and after being asked to hold, I was hung up on again. I called back, angry that WM feels it's ok to call customers, yell at them and hang up on them, this time I spoke to a series a women who all identified themselves as the manager, clearly lying. Eventually, the phone was given to an adult supervisor Donna, I told her that before this encounter, I had adjusted the pickup time in an effort to avoid the rain and that when I realized on my way to WM that I wouldn't be able to avoid the rain, I planned to hold off on checking in so that the kids working the pickup area wouldn't have to get wet. So it was beyond insulting to get a call from some kid, yelling at me and then hanging up on me. Only to be followed by a series of conversations with women who behaved like children (Jasmine and Jessica, I believe) who have never interacted with the public/customers before. Once again, I was called by WM and yelled at and hung up on. If you allow children to represent you and you haven't bothered to do minimal customer service training with them, don't expect adults to put up with it. This interaction has caused me to cancel my WM annual membership and genuinely take my business elsewhere. For instance, Aldi's and Publix have never contacted me, yelled at me, hung up on me, lied to me or gaslit me. I think I'll shop there going forward. read more

Walmart Adventure continues.... Thankfully this store had a product I had been looking for, so I placed the order and off to Pelham we went. Thankfully Walmart has their pickup area donated by those bright Orange signs, so we were able to find where to go fairly quickly. Pickup was located near the rear/side of the store... very remote and far away from other people and vehicles. I would not feel comfortable coming here by myself at night. On the plus side, our order was out super fast! read more

This Wal-mart location is decent. It's not the best out there, but it is ok. The drive-up / pick-up online orders location is off to the side of the building, and while it allows a quick delivery from the building, it just feels a little isolated and sketchy. I would not want to pick up from there at night. Store is fairly clean, and the employees were friendly enough. read more

Seriously, the worst Walmart culture ever. People have a terrible attitude. They are completely detached, and in some cases belligerent. I have asked to speak to a manager numerous times but the store manager never seems to be there. I am going to Aldi/Target instead. read more

I have to give them props for their COVID era contactless shopping process. Walmart overall has done a great job with their ordering process on the app. It is easy to check to see which store has the items I want so I can get all of the items I want in one stop. I love that I can see the prices on the items and that Walmart does NOT increase the prices to cover for the convenience of having someone do the shopping for me. Sometimes they are out of an item after I order it but that is not that frequent so I can easily overlook it. There is an option on the app to let the store know I am on my way to pick up my item and when I get to the store, my location has been tracked and all I have to do is hit the number of the parking space I am in. I have only had GREAT experiences with the pick up process and Im so thankful for this option for buying my groceries and other items. I come here about twice a month for an order and it is always super easy and quick. I could not recommend it more. read more

As I have stated previously, Walmart can be an easy review as everyone is familiar with them, and they have so many locations you can compare them against themselves. This location I think suffers from its proximity to thee one in Hoover on John Hawkins. Not that this one is that bad, but in general the cleanliness of this location just doesn't hit the mark. The inside tends to just feel cluttered and in-kept in comparison. Typical Walmart store as far as selection goes with hose goods, sporting goods, electronics, etc and the right side is comprised of all of the food items. The produce here can be very hit or miss. If you catch them with new shipments you can score some good finds. If it is in between shipments you need to be selective or you will get home and have some quality issues. Same with the meat selection. You need to look at expiration dates as they can cut it kind of close on selling stuff about to expire. Pretty good prices when it comes to the store in general. If you need gas they also have gas pumps outdoors with really good prices (Walmart typically will be one of the best priced in the area when they have gas). Not setting the standard for Walmart locations, however they are far from the worst one I have been in. If you are in the area and need something I wouldn't go out of my way to avoid coming in to this store. read more

By far, a nicer location than the Alabaster store. The Pelham location is cleaner, better stocked, and the cashiers are a lot more pleasant than what I've come to expect from Walmart. If it weren't three times the distance from my house than the Alabaster store, I would go here for all of my major grocery shopping. read more

I had a tire that was losing air and pulled into this Walmart's auto shop. I went inside after being ignored by the attendants who were outside. The inside attendant scolded me for coming in, then gruffly claimed my tire couldn't be patched. I drove away and had it patched quickly at another store (which will receive a positive review!) This store has got to be one of the worst Walmarts in the greater Birmingham area. These days at Walmart you have more customers doing self-checkout than there are open registers with employees there to help you. You have other employees walking around doing nothing but talking on their cell phone and when you stop to ask a question, they act as if it was the worst inconvenience they've ever experienced just having to speak to a customer. The majority of employees couldn't care less about the customer, they're only there doing as little as they can to get by and get a check. I've never seen anyone go above and beyond to help someone out at this location. I was there a couple weeks ago and the service desk was supposed to be open till 7: 00pm yet at 6:16pm, all the lights were out and there was no employee around anywhere. I was told in an I really couldn't care less tone and attitude that "oh yeah they're closed." What good is it to post opening and closing hours if you're not going to adhere to them? How is it fair to the customer to drive all the way there based on Walmart's open/close time schedule only to get there and realize that it's not open. I responded on the Walmart website and as always and as was expected, no response whatsoever. Walmart has gotten simply too big and they get away with this type of behavior because they feel like they are too big to fail and no one can touch them. I know this issue seems rather trivial but when you fight traffic to get to a specific location for a specific reason and you get there and you cannot accomplish what you had set out to accomplish it's rather frustrating. Particularly when the reason you could not accomplish your goal was because Walmart is not standing up and honoring their end of the deal. read more

If you need to do pick-up, I would not choose this location. The first time I used them I had a 4-5 time frame. at 4:00 I received a message saying "my order is delayed." I did not pick-up my groceries until almost 7 that night after waiting in line for close to a hour because they were so backed up. Today I placed another order for the same time frame. Received the same message. I have cancelled this order, because I know it will be the same mess. If they can not keep up with the workflow, less times should be available for pickup. Both of these orders were placed at 8:00 in the morning. Plenty of time to have my groceries ready by 5 at night! It's absolutely ridiculous! They shouldn't even offer the service if they can't do it. read more

Checked out at register 8 at 5 p.m. on 5-23-19. Two young ladies at the register talking about being hungry and wanting a snack...neither of which ever even looked at me or spoke to me. One with very long green painted nasty looking nails was complaining about her trainee going on break, calling her "the Mexican girl", who returned just before I left, told me thank you and to have a nice day...I wished her good luck...she's going to need it. read more

I won't go into all of the details of what a completely disappointing experience I had a couple of weekends ago when attempting to get a new set of tires from the automotive service center. Suffice to say that I compared quotes between Walmart and Express Oil Change and opted to go with the less expensive option. Four trips over the course of three days and hours of wasted time later, I finally have a set of tires that aren't constantly going flat. Overall, if you value your time, go somewhere else for auto service. Next time, I will foot the extra price tag for better service. read more

I went to the vision center to get my two kids glasses. After being ignored for 20 minutes and finding frames they liked ourselves, we asked the lady behind the counter if she could order the frames in a different color. She proceeded to tell us that she could only give us frames that were on display and she couldn't order anything else. I then went to talk to a manager and they could not tell me if they could even order glasses. This was my 2nd bad experience at a Walmart optical. I will not be going back! read more

It took me an hour worth of phone calls to get ahold of someone then i finally get someone in the pharmacy who transfers me to my department and NOTHING. I love this Walmart. (Not every Walmart is perfect) but this location is pretty great. William the manager is a nice employee there.

I have no problem with most of the store but will make sure to never use their tire/auto center again. They apparently did not have the right tool to do an oil change on my car but never attempted to tell me this, until I asked after waiting an hour and a half. To add to this, my car started smoking shortly after leaving. I discovered they had spilled some liquid over several parts under the hood and didn't look like there was an attempt to clean it up. Save yourself time, take your car somewhere else. read more
