I had to walk the entire length of the store twice to purchase one can of soup. Why? Because at 10 am the executives decided that they only needed one cashier and the self checkout on the right side of the store to be closed. Meanwhile from my observation there were two employees standing staring at the self checkout folks. Expect more, pay less? read more

I'm on the hunt for some new, Spring wardrobe additions so I stopped by this Target location after brunch one Saturday. I was surprised to see the fitting rooms clean and clear of clothes on a weekebd. As a curvy girl, I'm used to hunting for sizes and sifting through leftovers, but perhaps I beat the other ladies to the racks this time because there were plenty of options to choose from. I love a sundress, so I tried on several of those along with a jumpsuit and some shorts. I picked up some more primer and lipstick from the beauty section and snagged a pair of chunky, black sandals before leaving. There weren't many self check out lanes open or regular cashiers available, which was odd. However, it didn't slow me down this visit since the place wasn't crowded at the time. Two o'clock seemed to be the sweet spot for easy browsing and shopping! I didn't get the dress in this pic, but I did get a couple other items that I'm looking forward to wearing and I may add this location to my list for curvy girl finds. read more

It's been over 5 years since my last review so it's time for an update. Unfortunately, my rating for this Target location has gone down. I frequently use the Target app to do curbside pickup and let me tell you something. You better check your bags before driving off because this location is notorious for leaving things out of your order or completely giving you the wrong order. It happened to me again today, which was the third time in 2 weeks. It's very inconvenient and frustrating when this happens. They've given my item to someone else and didn't have another item in stock to replace it for me. I'm not sure what's going on but they need to do better. read more

I was assisted by team lead Sierra who was extremely rude, condescending, and unhelpful. I purchased a $54 Stanley cup at the Starbucks within the Target store using $20 in points which is the equivalent of 500 points and $500 spent to earn those points. Sierra could/would not tell me how I could obtain the points back to my Starbucks account and did not seek the help of a manager to help resolve the issue. Rather, she rudely dismissed me and told me to contact Starbucks customer service. read more

So this was the biggest Target in the US when it was built at about 191,000 sq. ft. And I certainly feel it when I happen to go to this location. While I do have a regular Target nearby (so I can't full-on grocery shop there), I only venture to The Grove's Super Target when mine does not carry something in stock. So while this location is nice for those hard-to-find items, it's not really quick and easy to shop. The aisles are very spacious, but it can be a pain if you happen to go in the wrong set of doors for the area of the store you need, and I always feel like I'm hiking to actually reach the first bit off merchandise. That can be easily remedied by using the Target app that will map out where items are supposed to be located. Even with the app, though, I often don't feel like the store layout is very intuitive and can be a little hard to navigate. read more

I prefer this Target more than the one in Homewood (which is close to my house). They always have what I need in stock and they always have cashiers available which is a plus! The departments are always neat and organized. The times I've gone, it's never overly crowded and I can shop at ease. You can always catch good deals too. I racked up on some clothes for my daughter. The pieces were like $2 a piece! Also they match their online prices too! Be sure to download the app and scan the price tags as you shop. I was in the area today and needed to waste some time before attending dinner, so I decided to stop by. Target is one of those stores where you don't plan on spending money, but something catches your eye. This location is a Super Target and has a nice grocery selection. I enjoy shopping at this location because it's always clean, has good customer service and the checkout lanes move rather quickly. I used to shop this location very frequently when I lived in the area, but not so much now since it's out of my way. The prices on some items may be a little more than done other stores, but their sales/clearance prices can't be beat. The deli/bakery section offers a range of cooked items, deli items and baked goods that are very well priced and tasty. Towards the front of the store they have a snack bar area and separate Starbucks to buy cooked food/snack items. The snack bar area even has Pizza Hut personal pan pizzas, wing, breadsticks and pasta. If I'm ever in the area again I will make it a point to stop by again and shop some more because you can never go wrong shopping here. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this target! Especially the target pick up feature. I have a three month old and a four-year-old and the pick up has saved me in this season of life. It is always so quick, and they are usually even waiting outside when I get there. The employees are so friendly and kind and I have never had any issues. The store is nice and easy to get into. Still running into spotty availability of things we normally buy. Customer service has gone down. They had multiple people working the registers only a few lights on. I got in a one with a light one, but someone asked if the one with then light off was open and it was. Someone asked another one with the light off and they were closed. Not a great way to indicate that you are open if your light is off. Hopefully they will work this out soon. read more

This is not my normal Target by any means, but when you're on a search for particular product for your upcoming. Wedding, you'll make the trek across town. They had several of the products that I was looking for (a win for me). Customer service was good, and the aisles (that we visited) were clean. Overall well organized store. read more

I needed too get just a few items. This super target is great for a quick stop. If you are looking for special items or want a lot of grocery selection then you may want to try publix or a specialty place. The staff is very friendly and the store is always nice and clean. My only complaint is on a busy weekend the food shelves can get pretty bare and they may not have what you need. I have a red card and I love to use it here! read more

I'm one of those people that uses terms like 'the good Target' or 'the good Walmart' *judge me later and let's get through this*. The Grove Target location is A Good Target. It's always clean, well organized and well stocked w/most anything you'd be shopping for. They have good sales on wine, the fruit is fresh and they have a nice selection of specialty beer. I'm a Walmart shopper at heart but a few times per month Target is a must. I always have a smooth experience at this one! The one thing I do not like is that the cashiers always offer some card at each transaction. I know they're just doing their job but Honey!! The answer has been No for like 5 yrs.. so let's just not have this conversation Yet. Again. There's a Starbucks in the front of the store. It's an average Starbucks if you're into that. read more

Adidill is the first associate in this chain that caused me to sit in the heat to review him in a while. Was in store an hour before making my way to my favorite department-Gadgets! Asked him if they had WiFi extenders? He told me they were on the wall under that big picture. . Looked hi & low but that section was as empty as his CS skills. Rejected I picked up Apple products that were in a security boxes so I allowed him to check me out. I told him they were out of my requested item. He then went over there to verify the facts and came back without any comment. Didn't check his devices because he didn't care about me. I know I don't look like a shopping addicts but I'm a verified one! If he had suggested upgrading to a newer and better router I would have done so. I'm tired of my grandkids calls dropping when they call me. So I will go to the 280 Target store where there's a great employee to help me. I'm sure he will make sure my son's house has the proper WiFi coverage. So here's how he bagged my purchases: My bras are hanging out the too small bags he forced them in. So everyone knows I just bought cheap bras in Target because my usual ones are on backorder! Really?! Pants are hanging out another bag. Aren't one of the purposes of bags are to provide some privacy of purchases? The cute dress I love is now dirty from the exposed parts also hanging out the bag that I dragged across my car door. All the other staff members I asked for help were outstanding and over exceeded my expectations by not only asking questions, checking their devices and then walking me to the items. After spending $228 on impulse items, he left my bags on the counter, dismissed me without a thank you, here you are Madam or any type of closure. Just dropped me like I was a one not stand and the sun was coming up. How disappointing, like I assume is how his dates/victims also feel afterwards. I hate when it happens when I buy a $1 drink at a certain burger place and the cashier doesn't say thank you, but I expect more from Targets. Maybe he was expecting me to thank him? This is a nice Target. I actually have gotten groceries here on more than one occasion. They have a small bakery that has a decent selection of stuff. Try the scones! Delish! The produce is fresh and so are the meats. They always have good holiday stuff. Target is a good place for nice bathing suits in the summer. I bought a suit here and I also got suits for the kids here. I always like to check out their clearance sections because I usually find really good deals. It's equipped with everything that you'd expect from a Super Target; Starbucks, a food area with hot dogs and pizza, an organic section, etc... Luckily, I live close by. This is the biggest Target store in the area. It's not the one i usually go to however, it generally has in stock whatever it is I'm looking for. I've been in the Alabaster store more times, this location is more consistent. I've found in stock toys that are no where else to be found. I've found good to great deals on clothes for my daughter. Ive found small to medium decent quality bookshelves for my wife's classroom reasonable prices. I've wondered around and found some bargains on items I wasn't necessarily looking, but needed once I found them here. Our most recent search for little girls cowboy boots lead me here. I had been all over the Galleria. I had been to a couple places outside of the galleria. Finally I stopped here in a last ditch effort to find them and yep they had them. I was mad at myself for not thinking to stop here first. read more

As a rule, I simply love Target--I mean, who DOESN'T love Target? This location is pretty good, and I'm usually satisfied when I go here. The parking is convenient and well-lit for nighttime visits. Everything in the store is usually in stock, and the app makes searching the aisles much less of a hassle. The store associates are helpful. There are only two downsides to this location: 1.) Similarly to another large retailer (that most people shopping at Target are likely trying to avoid, rhymes with Mall-Mart), this location often only has two or three lanes open 2.) I oftentimes find myself wandering around for 10 minutes or so browsing while I'm on my way to the aisle that I actually need to be on. Then 15 minutes later an hour and a half has passed and I've spent $300 and walked out of the store without the item I even left the house for.* *Disclaimer: that second downside may be a personal flaw. Overall, this is my preferred Target in the entire Birmingham area. All of the others (on 280 and in Brookwood Village) totally pale in comparison to the Hoover location. read more

Simple and straight forward review. Came here for the Target price match of a Nintendo pro controller that best buy sells for 55 and they sell for 70 dollars. Employees were rude and declared they only price match target.com (might be the dumbest thing I ever heard, how do you price match yourself). I then pulled up the Target's corporate website that lists best buy as a price match (see attached photo) and they did not back down claiming once again they only price match themselves. I went in on a Saturday during a football game with hopes it would be quite and not alot of people that was the complete opposite. I do like this Target better than the others in the surrounding area. I had an issue with the chip reader reading my card after a few tries I got it to work, but it was frustrating and the cashier did not really offer much help. The prices are pretty decent on the clothes which was my reason for my shopping trip. I had 2 employees go out of their way to help me in finding what I was looking for. Super Target location. So they offer an expanded food shopping area to go along with the electronics, home, pharmacy, seasonal, etc items you will typically find in a Target store. Food area has a bakery, deli area, fresh produce, meat, dairy and all the typical box/can foods you would find in a typical grocery store. Prices are good and they offer special promotions quite frequently, such as, spend $50 on food and save $10 (obviously they do have some restrictions). This store is kept clean, organized and stocked. Employees are friendly and helpful during check out or if you are looking for an item. They are willing to price match (at the customer service counter). Also, they recently added self check-out lanes (8 total). They also have a Starbucks inside at this location if you are interested. I love Super Target and appreciate that one of the few in Birmingham is NOT on 280! I can't count how many times I have been to this Target. I go at least once a week for a grocery haul. And I can't remember ever having an unpleasant experience here! With the Target app, everything is easy to find in such a huge store. The Cartwheel app and Target debit card also makes it very easy to save on every trip! My husband and I especially enjoy the selection of local craft beer right up front! There are typically a few marked down each week and a great selection. We also enjoy such a great store with everything we need less than 10 minutes from our home in Bluff Park! But being at the last Hoover exit off of 459 south, this store is convenient to many! read more

This is a large Target store with a well stocked inventory. The store and the bathrooms were pretty clean. The only issue I had was it was a struggle to find an employee for assistance but I guess that is due to scheduling less employees after the holidays. There was only one register open so we opted for self-checkout. The employee working self-checkout was very nice and helpful when a clearance item didn't ring up correctly and she had to input the item manually. read more

This is our local location, and the fact that it is close and is typically well-stocked is enough. Honestly, the problem here is that the racks and aisles are frequently a mess. The recycling is always full, and the bathrooms are spotty at best. On the plus side, the staff are friendly and helpful, the parking is plentiful and convenient and it is in a strip mall with other great stores. read more

The store was clean and organized, which helped us out - I'd hate having to search every part of the store when we only needed a few things. He replies that he doesn't have a walkie. I go to guest services and ask for help and walk back to the deli....crickets. I call and ask for a manager, get hung up on twice. Reach a manager on third attempt. 7:32pm I have in hand. This is the second time this scenario has happened after 6:00pm. The absolutely love target. It's one of my fave places to shop. Just to browse even. The customer service at this target in particular is great. I recently did a drive-in order. So basically, when I was closer, I let them know via the app. It said once I parked into the designated spot I should let them know via the app, however by the time I was parking, someone was standing there with my order. They were very good to my husband when he worked there. They payed him well and gave him plenty of hours. It was because of that job that we got out of credit card debt. The clothes are cute! The prices are great, too. (Not just the clothing prices!) I also like the bathing suits. I like how they will give a $10 gift card to the store once a month for a new prescription. It comes in handy! I just don't like Target's policy that you can't return an item that's been bought for you the same day that it was purchased, even if you have a gift receipt.
