Each visit, I've encountered different staff members, yet all have been consistently competent, kind, friendly, and helpful. This speaks volumes about their work environment and training, which appears to be truly exceptional. Surpassing Expectations in the Automotive Industry In today's automotive world, encountering such genuine customer care is a rarity--especially at a large, national chain. I initially chose Walmart for its competitive pricing; the tire prices I found online were unmatched anywhere else. However, I stayed--and keep returning--because of the extraordinary customer experience. Unlike some other shops, where you feel pushed toward unnecessary services (and come to expect bad news about your car), Walmart's team is honest and straightforward. I've never felt pressured, and they focus on real rather than invented problems. Amenities and Convenience A huge plus at this location is the ability to shop while your car is serviced. No need to waste time in a cramped waiting area or flip through outdated magazines--Walmart lets you get errands done or browse, making the experience not only efficient but enjoyable. Renewed Loyalty to Walmart I hadn't visited Walmart much in recent years, but this tire and lube department has truly won me over. The confidence, kindness, and competence of these employees has made me a huge Walmart fan once again. This seems like one of the nicer Walmart stores in the area, so we come here from time to time for various household goods. We've generally had pretty good experiences here, but a recent experience has somewhat soured us on this store. My wife came for some very specific things, and when she got home and started unpacking the bags, she realized that some of her items were missing. She called the store, and spoke to a customer service manager. The story my wife got was that the cashier said she realized she didn't spin the last bags around to the front, and then said when she noticed, she "ran" after my wife to try to stop her. My wife is many amazing things, but a speed walker is not one of them. We were annoyed at this point, but said we'd come back and get the items. The items left behind were a mix of refrigerated and things that are shelf stable. I get back to the store about 30 minutes after my wife left, waited about 15 minutes in line at customer service, and when I get up there, I'm helpfully told that all my items have already been returned to stock. These are items my wife already purchased. Annoyed, I ask what I'm supposed to do now. I'm told that my only option is to go and retrieve the exact items again, and they have a book of forgotten merchandise they will compare them to. So I call my wife, and armed with her on the phone and the receipt, I carefully retrieve the exact merchandise she already bought once, and bring it back to customer service. I wait again. When it is finally my turn, the cashier gets the tome of forgotten merchandise and starts scrutinizing all of the items I brought back and comparing them to their records and my receipt. I felt like I was at customs and they were searching my luggage for contraband. I have no idea why they needed to be so precise in all of this, but it is clearly not a very customer friendly process, especially considering these were items I already paid for, and that it was their mistake that they did not make it into my wife's cart on the original trip out of the store. read more

If you live down in this area, you are kinda stuck going to this Walmart for groceries an supplies. It's the furthest south located place for such things, and thus convenient more than anything else. I do shop at Walmart sometimes for the prices, but mostly for the convenience. This Walmart is no different from the toys and automotive to the clothes and groceries than any other super Walmart you might find, well, anywhere. If you can't make it up to HyVee or Costco, then stop here and get your stuff in a clean and easily accessible environment. So close is this Walmart to the standard layout across the country that I feel like I'm going into the same store many times when I'm shopping in other cities. That's the model. In many ways, I find it sad that there are no differentiators. If you are in the east SoJo area, you probably already shop here, and you know what I mean. read more

Watch the prices as I had the ad for a dvd of Aqua-man for $5.99. It rang up as $24.99 the blue ray, dvd, digital copy. I showed the ad and the manager said it rang up correctly but could not point out where the blue ray, digital or special edition were located on the package. Target could though. Tell me why Walmart has implemented a policy to have someone at the exits of the store to stop only people who choose not to use plastic bags to verify their purchases by scanning the receipt then items in the cart? Anyone with bagged groceries are waived by with a friendly "You're okay." Why would Walmart decide that those who don't "bag" would steal from them any easier than those that bag. So much for the ease of self checkout! I don't have cashiers put my items in bags either! I avoid the use of plastic bags and choose to load my groceries "Costco style" without a plastic bag because "one use" plastic is wasteful. I will no longer shop at Walmart until they figure out how much their bagging policy is really costing! This has to be the dumbest move of any retailer... read more

I was checking out today at the self check register. I looked to my left to see a strange looking little man a large pistol strapped to his belt. I went to customer service to find out if Walmart had a no open carry policy. The lady at the counter said they let them if they have a license for them. I asked if they had checked this man's license and they said they were not allowed to check them. I went to the Internet and it showed that Walmart had a no firearms in the store policy. I called the number on the wall for the manager got one of the team leaders who didn't know the answer. He said someone would call me and let me know if they allowed firearms in their store. I never received a call I still don't know what is Walmart's policy is and I will never go in a Walmart again! I will never be comfortable shopping amongst people who feel the need to strap loaded fire arms to their bodies to go buy toilet paper! read more

Avoid this Walmart at all cost, all of the associates are complete assholes. They're all Lazy!! I went in and asked the associate if I could have a service done and was told no and I said well online it says that you do that and he went and grabbed another associate and they came back and told me no with an attitude. Walmart is the freaking best!!!!!! I LOVE the grocery pickup! It has totally changed where I shop and how I shop. It saves massive amounts of time, stress, money, and headaches. AND IT'S FREE!!!!!!!!! I love the employees who load the groceries into my car! They are all nice AND they all refuse me when I try to tip them. During Covid 19 crisis, I had to go to this Walmart to purchase a lawnmower battery. No customer service in the Auto area. Baskets were not clean or cleaned for us. No sanitizer for the cart, store merchandise or our hands. They said that they did not have hand sanitizer. Their refund policy is something left to be desired. It looks good on paper. On some things, I get it. I bought some trading cards, don't know much about basketball or baseball so thought we'd give it a shot. I mostly collect Pokemon and NFL cards. I sat on these basketball and baseball products trying to decide, if I want to open it with my kid, but we decided to just stick with NFL and Pokemon. So I went to return them, unopened, still sealed in it's original packaging. The system wouldn't allow for it. Managers couldn't figure it out even stating that it's within their 90 day return policy. They called over another manager and this took awhile. Another rep was on the computer, but wasn't sure what she was doing, and finally she told the other manager, "I found it." She was searching their website and found that trading cards were on the list of non returnable items. It's a pretty niche item and they have a section just for trading cards, don't you think it would've been a good idea to post something stating that these are non returnable so buyers are aware? I tried to find it myself when I got home, even knowing it was there, I still had to click around to finally find it in their returns section. I can understand if the packs were opened, these were all brand new, in original packaging. read more

My convenient location. There is another yelper, Scott, that may likely be in the same boat as I. Not ecstatic about the service but it is what it is. There is one person at customer service that just seems u happy and tired. Not that I blame her having to deal with returns and probably complaints so frequently. I'm understanding of her situation but when I do have to return or exchange something, she ignores me when I try to be pleasant with her. I smile, ask her how her day is, and usually have my receipt when I have a return. I have yet to meet my return limit, which is why they ask for ID. I think it is an amount with so many items over so many days(45 rings a bell). There are a handful of cashiers that I like. Mr. Dee, Mr. Russel, and a couple other very pleasant ladies that I don't always see as often. The store is usually clean and mostly organized considering the size. B I've used site to store a few times and it seem okay. No one is usually back there and I usually have to ask someone to help me find the right associate to help me. Understandable since they have things they need to do instead of wait around all day on the clock. I wouldn't mind a self checkout, like at Sam's Club. I'm pretty good with the scanner. I'm not sure Clint Eastwood good but I could checkout really fast on my own. I think they would probably end up having more shrinkage if they had a self checkout though. The propane swap is not always fun. At times it's efficient. More often than not, it's a wait and wait and wait. I've had to go in and remind them a couple times more than once. The savings catcher was cool at first but it got old fast. I got a few bucks back, which no one can complain about but let's face it, Walmart has some massive buying power so the prices are going to be competitive no matter what. The savings catcher is just a way for the customers to see that they are hard to beat. Now I only like it because I could store my receipts electronically. One thing you need to be conscious of is that nothing in this electronic world is free. You scan those items and you end up giving them more info to target you with specific marketing, like Sam's or Costco. You ever notice you get mailers for similar items? Don't blame them, they only want to increase your likelihood of buying. It keeps the post office in business since someone pays for those mailers. Oh the great circle of capitalism. Pharmacy: THE worst experience I've ever had at a pharmacy. I was on my way home from St. Lukes Convenient Care having just learned I have pneumonia. I'd worked a 9 hour day, then saw the doc, and I just wanted to get home and lay down. St. Lukes had called the prescription in but they didn't fill it till I got there. There were 2 pharmacists, a pharm tech, and a counter person. She said 20-25 minutes. Ugh. I arrived at 7:05 pm. There were no other people waiting for prescriptions during the entire time I was there; however, there was always a line of people picking up and dropping off. Finally at 7:40 I stood back in line and asked what the hold up was. The Pharm Tech was at the register and couldn't find my order at all. AACCKKK! I just stood at the counter so they wouldn't forget about me this time. It wasn't until 7:57 that my order was finally ready. I tried to remain calm and asked what had happened and was told "there must have been other people waiting ahead of you" (there weren't). Silas, the pharmacist was the only one who gave me a somewhat sincere "I'm so sorry." Lee, the pharmacist looked at me like I was the problem.... no apology, no nothing. Extremely disappointing! I'm writing to Walmart too although I know it won't help, it will make me feel better to get it off my chest! read more

Best Walmart in KC area. The one out in west Olathe is pretty nice (new), but this one has both a nice staff and a nice facility. You will be pretty amazed with this location. It has a more upscale look and feel than any other Walmart we've ever been to. Have you ever heard Walmart and the word 'upscale' used in the same sentence? I didn't think so. I came in today to exchange an electric tea kettle. I purchased it one year ago as a back up should our electric tea kettle fail. The electric tea kettle failed so I opened the brand-new one from Walmart. It was missing the bottom heat plate. I went to the counter to see if I could exchange it or receive a credit toward another kettle. They could no longer find it in their system. I was told to contact the manufacturer, as it's not their problem, since they no longer carry the product. I will do my best to never, ever, purchase anything again from Walmart. read more

I visited this Walmart for the first time today and was impressed by every employee I encountered. I had an unreceipted return and simply needed to return the item for another like item- When I took it back to the Walmart I purchased it from (metcalf / 119th) the associate attempted to tell me it could not be returned even though it had not used and mentioned nothing about putting it on store credit. Having worked in high-end retail stores for over 7 years I was appalled at the gentleman's inability to both empathetically relate and follow policy for a regular customer. I took my return and left. Today, at your location the tenured associate not only followed the return policy, giving me store credit, but she treated me as though I had just spent $1,000. After finishing my return I went on to purchase the groceries and cleaning products I also needed. Everything was easy to find. The store was bright, clean and well replenished. This will be my new Walmart. read more

I will never go back into a Walmart again. Really any location. They are dirty, their produce is terrible, they have 1 cashier for every 1,000 customers in the store and their customer service is terrible. I would rather pay more an shop at Target than deal with Walmart. read more
