This is one of the best Walmarts I've ever been to! I never knew in my life that I would depend on Walmart for just about everything from groceries to essentials because I grew up in California where many Walmarts are old buildings and are not the safest places to be. I am a student at local Southern Adventist University, and I always come here for stocking up my apartment. Sometimes this store can be picked-over because several SAU students like me come here. Typical Walmart store. This one was located across the street from our hotel. We stopped here to find some shorts or some clearance swimsuits since we wanted to get in the hotel pool. Well, shorts it was. The store was very well stocked! If they sold it, it was there because they didn't have any gaps on their shelves. This is different in this time. read more

This is my favorite Walmart. They are usually nice and glad to help. Most of all, you can find somebody to help. Electronics are usually in stock for the most part. This store has the largest DVD collection that I have ever seen. They have a 5 cd dump bin you are going to want to check out too. Always liked this Walmart. Although it's always full of people, it's still a very pleasant experience. The grocery pick-up runs efficiently as well. The store is always clean. I feel safe because the entrances have a wonderful lady giving masks. Then another counting. Today I shopped in the store & I must say I had one of the most kind, caring, and professional cashiers. I believe his name was Neilo. He double bagged my heavy items. I also appreciate how he sorted the bagging according to item category. He also walked around and put heavier items in the cart. Then when done, he made sure I didn't need any additional help. I'm reviewing based on him because you rarely have cashiers to take so much pride in what they do. I have lived all over the area, from Ga to Bristol Tn. I am also handicapped and use a wheelchair everywhere I go, unfortunately. Some Walmart's look clean, some are clean, and others....well others are gross. The best way to tell is using a wheelchair. As I roll thru the stores I usually have to pull hair and other floor crap off of my gloves. The Walmart on Little Debbie Parkway is the ONLY store I do NOT have to do that in. It is actually clean and the floors do NOT have big clumps of hair throughout. I used to drive 40 minutes just to get to this store. read more

For the past 3 weeks, you have not had sanitizing wipes or hand sanitizer at the entrance door. You are literally WALMART where you have everything under the sun. There is no excuse, during a pandemic to have NOTHING to sanitize your cart with when you enter the store. Quite actually...send someone to Aisle 24 and GET SOME FOR THE FRONT ENTRANCE!!!!!!!!!!!! I watched your "greeter' take back an empty spray bottle when a customer reached for it to spray her cart handle down - only to realize it was empty - this is the 4th time in 3 weeks I have encountered an empty everything- the wipes, the spray bottles and the sanitizer. I had such an horrible experience Samantha the digital coach was very rude and disrespectful. I made an purchase @ register #22 I brought dog food and a baby gate for my great grandson. I used my credit/debit card the cashier couldn't give me a receipt because it was offline. Assistance was called a lead staff tried to assist . I was told come to customer services & they would ring up my order there so I could have a receipt. Well I checked my bank account transaction it went through. I was told I couldn't get a receipt for 24 hrs. I asked for a refund I asked for a manager I was told they couldn't put the money back on my card not give me my cash back since I use my debit card Samantha came over explained the situation to her what was going on and she insisted she could not give me a receipt nor was there another manager personnel there. when I requested the money to be put back on my card she told me they couldn't nor give me the cash back for the purchase. Samantha Threaten to escort me out the store because I stated I could go somewhere else to spend my money she treated me as if I was a criminal very disrespectful. After 40 minutes being in the store going back & forth she finally decided to override it & agreed to give me cash back only if I product an ID. Keep in mind I used my debit card I was so distraught from her raising her voice at me & going back & forth. I finally gave her my military I D & got my money back. This was on Nov. 6, 2022 3pm-3:40 pm I told her I don't understand why she needed my ID? Samantha the digital coach said because she was refunding my money as no receipt provided as I again explained How could I have a receipt if none was provided I have not left the store or went anywhere. I was so distraught I had to have my daughter to come and pick me up I was literally in tears for the way that I was being disrespected & treated I would like for someone from the corporate office to contact me about the behavior and treatment I received it just was not right for her to treat me the way she did. It took 6 people in & out the office trying to figure it out. Supposedly the register was being rebooted didn't happen. read more

Had to stop in. Had just bought 4 new tires yesterday. Heading up to Knoxville from Atlanta when our tire light went crazy on us. Being 2 women out at almost dark, in a city we had never been. The staff were more than happy to check the tires for us. Thank goodness it wasn't anything to really worry about. Thanks to the tire/auto department we are now headed to Knoxville!! read more

Shame on you Wal-Mart! This location has replaced all but a few manned check outs (which are rarely open anyway) with about 20 self check outs. I don't mind self check out when I have one or two items I am picking up quickly. On my last self check out, the greeting card I was buying wasn't in their system and they had to instruct me to go to one of the manned registered to check out anyway after the attendant couldn't assist me either. I was there longer than people buying a cart full of groceries. But I will not be buying $300 in groceries each week and checking them out myself. I will not ring up and bag my own groceries when I can go across the street to Food City or Publix and get full service. I did not apply for a job at Wal-Mart and I have not been trained for the cashier job! No more Wal-Mart grocery shopping for me!!! I hope they see their sales go down based on this dumb decision. People need jobs and large corporations that we seem to have to depend on should not be taking in the profits and hurting our economy even more! I've been a Walmart shopper for years, here at Ooltewah since it opened. I've had my share of little issues but Walmart is usually quick to fix things. Today, I visited to buy mulch. Waited at a register in lawn/garden for 20 minutes while a lady tried to buy some baskets. She finally left without buying anything, exasperated. I thought it was an isolated incident and walked up to pay for my mulch. The girl informed me that she was closing and I would need to get in another line. By this time there were 5 or 6 other customers in line that I would have to get behind. Didn't set well with me, so I too walked out. This is not good customer service in any way. I won't say "never" but I won't be back for a while. read more

The Walmart on Little Debbie Parkway, Ooltewah, TN, is a super store in more ways than one. I love the self-checkout option as I'd rather bag my own things. That way when I get home it makes it much easier to put everything away as I've bagged like items. Today as I was in the self-check lane, when Shaweeque - a Walmart employee assigned to the quick check lanes (the two that have a conveyor belt) approached me. She introduced herself and said she was there to help me in any way. I engaged her in a short conversation and found that she was a wonderful person. Her professional, helpful attitude is one that I hope she receives recognition! I was on terminal #SC010151 if that helps her supervisors give her a big thank you and hopefully a boost in pay! All employees could take a lesson from Shawneeque on how to be helpful and give Walmart a good reputation. read more

Grocery pickup has made this a miserable place to shop. I understand there's some kind of time constraint, but rolling the big rack o' totes right up behind the shopper, then parking right in the middle of the aisle so no one can get around is inexcusable. A simple "excuse me" would go a long way; I've seen more courtesy in a middle-school lunch line. read more

I stopped into this location's automotive dept for a oil-change/tire rotation yesterday. Also needed a new battery. The staff couldn't have been nicer! Special thanks to employees John and Hannah for helping me out. John discovered that a former employee had scanned in my original battery wrong and "went the extra miles" to help me salvage some of the warranty left. BIG thank-you to the staff, including Willie, who has helped me many times before and also recommended a new battery to begin with. I highly recommend this automotive department for all the services they provide to your vehicle! read more

Its Walmart, so expectations shouldn't be high but seriously there is a Publix AND an Aldi in this town. Go there! The lines are overcrowded, the self check lanes broken and the security a mess- seriously they are women hateful and don't understand why people would bring thier own bags. (The video dude came and flipped out because I used one in the self check lane- I had to void and rescan EVERYTHING, then he was pissy because the total was the same. Duh because I scanned everything the 1st time.) Another misadventure was when I ordered custom Scooby Doo birthday cupcakes (pre-publix and aldi being built) and the cashier at checkout scanned then turned the container vertically to slide it into a bag. Obviously all the icing slid off immediately and I didn't want the now mauled mess. The cashier was confused as to why, I didn't want them and tried to tell me I had to - NOPE, you jacked them up not me. She also tried to get a price check on my canvas grocery bags- the very used and slightly grungy ones I brought from home. This review is really more for visitors to town so they know there are other options. Also 3 exits down there is a Target, another Publix, and a mall. read more

This is one of the two Walmarts that I go to. This Walmart is the newest one built in the area that I know of. They always have quite a bit of clearance racks in the clothing sections that are worth a look. Often when they have items that are discounted a lot (especially items from a holiday that just passed), they'll put them in the front of the store when you walk in. Quite convenient! read more

I love this location. Why? Because the customer service there rocks! They have reasonable prices for the things I need and are always open, especially for those last minute things you didn't realize you forgot but every other store is closed. This is what makes Walmart a winner. The store is always neat and there is never a long wait in lines. read more

As far as Walmarts go this one is really pretty good if you lived in this town long enough to remember having to go to the Walmart out of Hamilton place. This Walmart seems to be very full often there are a lot of people. Sometimes it can be pretty hard to get in and out of the parking lot. But in general it isn't very messy or dirty inside. The clientele tends to be A little bit finer around the edges than a lot of other Walmarts I've been to. The cleanliness in the clientele alone make this a viable option if you need to go to a Walmart. I don't often go to Walmart's just because I do not enjoy that experience but this one is definitely one of the better ones. read more

I basically hate and rarely ever shop Walmart. I went to this location today with my wife, and the checkout process was as horrible as most Walmarts checkout process usually is. Today I renewed my hatred and reminded myself to never go to Walmart again. Several Walmart managers were walking around unwilling to help checkout customers. I ask my checkout lady why are there Walmart worker walking around and not helping run registers with checkout lines being so backed up. She said they were managers and it wasn't there job. How does that sound for customer service. Sounds like too many managers and not enough workers. Are managers not also capable of working when they are needed. I don't recommend this Walmart (or any other Walmart). read more

Walmart, Ooltewah, Dealt with this Walmart for almost 4 years. First 3 years were very good, but something has changed. It's obvious they have trouble keeping good employees and management has gone down hill. They rarely have enough cashiers open and tonight only a third of them were open and they were backed up into the isle. Also every Self Help station was full and a dozen people standing in line, Yet workers were just standing around. A supervisor told us that the lady in jewelry could check us out. however, the jewelry lady was talking with another worker. She said she was not signed in so she couldn't help. The supervisor just stood there. Yes, I'm aggravated. The Pharmacy has been poorly operated for a long time, just try picking up a prescription through the Drive Up, that;s a joke. Oh Well, I feel a little better now, even though I just left my merchandise laying on the counter. Guess I'll go to Target tomorrow. read more
