OK, I had dealings with this place when they were in Florida but recently I was shopping their…read moreChattanooga showroom online. I didn't see anything so I just decided well. I'm gonna scroll through the archives because they do maintain an archive of past sales which really only benefits them because they're not letting anybody know what they actually sold the items for. So the archive is useless for valuation purposes. But I find a Broyhill Emphasis piece. A line that's one of our personal favorites , and it has rather lengthy description accompanying it, explaining that "Emphasis" was inspired by Egyptian obelisks. Which is total malarkey!! ( lies made up to sell ) Really if you look at Broyhill's original brochures for Emphasis ( see photo ) they talk about the process of veneering being invented in Egypt, but they say nothing about design inspiration coming from Egypt. So if you have a company that's so casually going to lie about the small stuff what whoppers are they telling you about the big stuff? I wouldn't trust them. I bought another piece from them when they were in their Florida store and had to have it shipped only to find out that their restoration included a wood putty filled missing veneer spot that they didn't bother patching the veneer on. It cost me $200 to have the piece properly repaired. It was a $500 piece. And that was maybe about two years after they first opened in 2010. Jackie the owner is what the other one star reviewers say she is. Yes she's terribly condescending and she's rude. The review mentioning how she offered to reimburse a customer for their trouble and then told them two weeks later it wasn't gonna happen is dead on to that woman's personality. She tells them what they need to hear to get them off her back. Stay away from the shop online and certainly don't bother going to Chattanooga to see them in person.

We attended our first auction ever at this location. What began as a fun evening quickly devolved…read moreinto a completely unnecessary embarrassment. We did our best to figure out the process and selected items prior to the auction we were interested in. We bid (and won) what we thought was one thing but turned out not to be what we expected. Instead of speaking about it with us personally, we were called out and embarrassed in front of the entire group in attendance. The owner grabbed one of the items back from us and said he would just auction it off again. We were told by the girl at the registration desk to go into a small room off the side to find the items we had won. Then we were yelled at to get out of that very room by the owner. Furthermore we were told we had lied about what we had told them when we went to pick our items up and pay for them. All of this was due to miscommunication and should have been handled in a more professional manner on their part. We felt all they cared about was moving merchandise and not the customers. That's fine. There are plenty of antique stores and auction houses that we will gladly spend our money in, however we will never spend another penny in this place. We left feeling completely mortified, insulted, and embarrassed. That is not the way to attract and retain repeat customers. It is also a surefire way to lose a potential client. There was an item in particular that drew us to this auction, but we were also looking for an auction house to sell many items belonging to a client of ours. What amounted to a $35 item in dispute lost them thousands of dollars in potential sales from what we thought we may allow them to sell. We are now exploring other options for our client. This was our very first auction experience, and it went just ad as it possibly could.
