They would look at me strangely and say " really, you want to go to Hy-Vee for breakfast" I would Rave about how good their food actually is for being a grocery store Cafe. I can safely say that not one of my friends ever left disappointed. Great food, great service, friendly atmosphere. Things aren't what they used to be. Even before the rise of prices of eggs for some unknown reason they decided to switch to the eggs you get from a carton. Very fake tasting and never really cooked that good. They went from using real mushrooms in their omelets to the cheap stuff you get in the can. They used to have very delicious sliced potatoes that would taste like heaven, but now you can only get hash browns that are very Bland. In closing, pretty sad when a cafe in a grocery store can't make your omelet with real eggs. Things aren't what they used to be. Still very friendly service. Although I don't know her name, there's a gray-haired old gal that is always smiling, always joking, and makes you feel right at home. Thank YOU for making me feel welcome. Sadly, I won't be returning until you start making an edible breakfast.

I found several new cheeses, including a local one from CannonBelles. Checkout was fast and easy at a self check-out station.

Have used this store often, however, I have slowly watch them change to more 'store brand' items. I…read moreuse a mobility scooter for any shopping trip, and today I went here and found they have changed display cases for premade deli items, all meats, and dairy to display cases with two-doors per section, each section consists of two single-wide doors..one opening left and one opening right. The shelves also run almost to the floor and are five to six shelves high. Anyone using a mobility device can no longer get to most of the items. To make it more difficult, items cannot be identified nor weight of item determined without removing item from case. Non-mobility people ended up holding the door open sort of like refrigerator perusing at home. Also, many displays had brand named items on the lowest or highest shelf with store brands being at eye level. In looking at several regular shelves in the middle of the store, they have followed the same pattern..store brand on most visible level and brand items lower or higher. Needless to say I WON'T BE BACK! I'll be going to Cashwise, Aldi's, or Walmart. Amazon will be getting non-.perishable items. At least Aldi's let you return their store brand items if you don't like it and get a full refund. Walmart you can order on line and pick up at store.
