No heights or vertigo or people throwing stuff (or other people) from balconies is a plus in my strange book. The carousel was a bit disappointing, smaller than I had imagined. Nonetheless, cool that there's a merry go round in a mall, even if I am a little too heavy to ride it. (120 pound weight limit.) Ok, a lot too heavy, gosh! It's fairly stylish and nice to wander around and get some steps in. Maybe you'll find something to buy or eat or a movie to watch. The highlight of our day at the mall, besides walking around to take a break from driving, was ending up the sporting goods store, Scheels, and buying a whole bunch of fudge there. The irony was not lost on me.

I came to pick up some paper at Michaels and decided since my dog was in the car to take him for quick walk around the property. Let him stretch his legs . Had no intentions of going into any store and he's a calm dog so he wasn't going to disturb anywhere . No where on property were there signs saying anything about dogs not being allowed on property . It's an outdoor mall. A security guard stopped me and asked if I was blind . I'm sure he was trying to be nice and I have very little to say about him . He proceeded to tell me he was told to tell me that dogs were not allowed on the property . Wow ... I politely said I wasn't aware and there should be signs then walked my dog back to the car . This is dying location and it's sad to see that but now I really am not tempted to come back and shop here . Who asks if another person is blind ? It can be perceived in several ways. The best way to approach was to ask if my dog was a service animal . Wow....

Flannel pants were just $15, regularly $35 and henleys $13 regularly $30. I love gap clothes, they are like old navy only better quality I think. Old navy pants are always too short for me. I picked up a cute pair of slipper socks and a couple pair of their flannel shorts too. Their flannel doesn't shrink that much when thrown in the dryer I have found. I always wash in cold water too. I was surprised they were so busy midweek. At least theres plenty of parking at Medford. We stopped at Toreys for lunch and got stuck in a traffic jam from an accident so we had a late start shopping, but I made up for it pretty fast power shopping here.

Kari's Rating 9/10…read more This place is such an impressive expansive work of art. They are was so much happening on this Saturday we went. John Legend was here signing albums and meeting fans. The line wasn't that long when we went and the hallways were well lit and there wasn't too much crowding. We didn't even make it to two of the floors but man they have everything you could want. My first question to my friend was, "Is there anything that MOA doesn't have?!" The answer was I'm not sure but let's check it out! The food court was pretty well lit and stocked. They had real plants and I was shocked how well maintained everything was. The layout of the building is strategically laid out for a seamless shopping experience. I was incredibly impressed. The only store that you may need to plan for was the Lego store which only let in a certain number of people. I'm definitely glad I was able to try this while I was visiting!

Owned by the same company who owns West Edmonton Mall in Canada, and American Dream in East Rutherford, New Jersey, Mall of America boasts over 520 retail outlets and at least four central food courts. Many retail stores are well-known yet some are unique or rarely seen in malls. The real allure of the mall is for the kids, and it features a massive indoor theme park, Nickelodeon Universe, and an aquarium called Sea Life. Sea Life is hands-on, featuring animals one can touch or hold. The theme park is home to the world's only indoor hi-speed roller coaster. The coasters are not tame either, they are just as raucous as you would expect in an outdoor park. One can walk through the park without buying admission, as each ride requires its own ticket, though the mall itself is admission free. The Mall has early opening hours and late closing so one can "walk the mall" if so desired, before the stores open and after many close. The mall itself is a maze but there are landmarks to help guide you. A full-size movie theater is featured on the fourth floor and as a plus, Minnesota has no state sales tax on clothes or shoes which makes shopping a bit easier. Overall, I rate the Mall of America an 8.5/10.0 on attractions.

However; I also love coming randomly throughout the year to get updated clothing items. I typically like to check out under Armour and Nike, the Columbia store also has a separate outlet location as well. Recently, I feel like prices haven't been nearly as good as they used to, but in this economy, who can blame them. I would love to see a little bit more variation in the food court, it's mostly Asian cuisines and Cinnabon. All delicious but would love to see some more options. There's a ton of parking, but if you come on a busy weekend, you may not notice and still have to park far away. Bummed to see some recent retailers, leaving, they've been replaced with stores that my opinion were is great. Overall, a decent shopping trip, it's also in a great location. There's plenty of other stores/eating nearby. I recommend checking out the Twin Cities premium outlets if you haven't been there before.
