in general, I have noticed that the employees do not Look happy. That's not a good sign. My main issue with this Walmart is the returns. I was there recently. There were over 10 people in line and only one staff taking returns. I complained to the manager who told me that other available staff are at lunch. Walmart needs to stagger the lunch breaks of their employees. I asked the manager if he could help and he said no, too busy elsewhere. The fellow ahead of me said it really takes a long time for money orders. There's too much going on at the service center. There's returns, money orders, bill pays, stamps and who knows what else? One employee cannot handle all that with so many people in line and expect the line to keep moving. Generally, there's a lady that wasn't there this time, who needs to chat it up with everyone, which that further efficiency. Fine if there's nobody in line, but that staff does not need to go on and on about her life. The staff that was there this time was focused completely on her work, but for various reasons, including that customers try to return things that shouldn't be returned and refuse to move on, take up a lot of time. There was a woman ahead of me that needed to return something from the marketplace, and was told that the marketplace machine was down and has been down for 3 1/2 weeks. That woman was nice and just left, however, rather than having wasted 15 minutes in line, Walmart should've posted a sign at the beginning of the line that no marketplace returns are available at this time. Seems to me that Walmart doesn't care how stressed out their employees or their customers get. Waiting 15 minutes in line for a lot of people is difficult. Not everyone has the physical capabilities that are necessary to stand comfortably that long, some people have back problems. Etc. When I got done shopping and looked over at the customer service area, 20 minutes later, there was still a very long line. Customers and staff deserve better . read more

Walmart will let non profits stand outside their stores, so I've done that for hours and hours and hours. But I also walk around the store, and this Walmart is fine. TBH I'm kind of stunned by the quantity of stuff here. The shoppers here are nice. But I have to agree much of the staff is a bit zombie like. Fourth star earned by the hot bar workers. They aren't going to hustle to help you, but they do cook up the jalapeño poppers to perfection. read more

Total ass!!! After going to Hy-Vee to look for blister bandaids, they weren't there so I went to Walmart. Walmart did not have them but I found them hidden really far behind other bandaids. As I was walking to the checkout, every in maple grove was there... and of course there were only 2 lanes open... I had ONE ITEM IN MY HAND AND THEY REFUSED TO OPEN UP THE SELF CHECKOUT!!!! When I decide to go to Walmart, are usually need one or two days of mental preparedness. This one I thought it would be in M Maple Grove new area, so it will probably be nicer, and I was right. When I showed up there around 9:15 AM there was no police car: it's a rarity but it is a reality in this case. Parking was wide and ample however this Walmart sits on the triangle land where only one side allows you to get in and out. The inside was new, spacious, clean, and in order. I wanted to share how impressed I am with Walmart MG Customer Service. I stopped in to pick up a few things and was impressed with how much they had reset/rebranded the store. Upon checking out, I encountered quite a grumpy checker. When I got home, I realized "grumpy" forgot to give me a bag of groceries. I wasn't going to bother with rectifying the situation, but since I was near there early this morning (before the crowds), I decided to stop back by. I went to Customer Service and shared my situation. They asked me a few questions and stepped away for a few moments. While I remembered missing two things, they came back and listed a couple other items that were in the bag as well. Never again will I make the mistake of shopping at this store. I ordered a relatively large order on curbside pick up, 20-25 items. I am regularly making orders of this size at target so I have never experienced such incompetence. A few of the items just weren't included. No explanation, I was charged for them but just not in the bags I received. The app wouldn't allow me to get a refund without calling the 800 customer service number. The food items I got were damaged and rotten. Not to mention several cars were waiting 10+ minutes for their orders. Seems like management is no where to be found and it's run by kids! Still crap, and it's not the store or products this time it's the lack of customer service , I would have easily spend $400 in the sporting goods , but there was NO one there ! And to find one of the employee wearing the yellow vest and I ask her to call someone or get someone to the sporting good section and she told me I had to go all the way to the service desk . I get there and there was just one person working and there's 3-4 people waiting in line . All I needed was to get some stuffs out of the glass case . The Walmart store in Maple Grove is disgusting! it is the most disorganized store ever. The bathrooms are dirty, with paper laying on the floor and garbages over flowing. This Walmart seems to be a lot nicer and cleaner than most of the other locations. This store is very well kept up & organized. If I need to find something it's exactly where it should be. I don't feel as though the employees are any more friendlier than other stores. The greeter didn't greet me when I walked in, but that's fine. Other than that I do see employees working in every section of the store which is nice. I don't usually grocery shop at Walmart (because I feel like they are usually disorganized) but this one has a very nice grocery department! You can usually find cheap/reasonably priced items here. I personally love the men's graphic tees for $7.50. Most places are $10-15 for the same or similar T-shirt's. The parking lot is always full but once I'm inside the store it hardly feels like there's any one shopping. read more

The Maple Grove location is the most awful store ever. They have no customer service at all. I went there a few days ago and all the carts were gone and customers had to go out to the cart corrals to get a cart. No employees anywhere bringing carts in. I just moved to MG 5 months ago and I have yet to see more then 2 people at the 15? registers. And the two they have on are elderly and move extremely extremely slow (no offense to them personally, they do their best). To make it worse they have now shut down the conveyor belt self check outs. It is insane. it quite literally takes me more time to check out then it does to shop and fill a cart. I have tried calling the store manager several times and nobody ever answers. Every Walmart in the Twin Cities has turned to garbage. Absolutely no shopping carts at the front door, had to walk back out into the parking lot to grab one. Pallets of unopened "stock" clogging up the shopping isles, but somehow they're out of half of the items on the shelves. Hot bar at the deli is out of buffalo wings at 2pm, and when I asked if they'd be making any more today, I got a pretty rude no like I'd asked the dumbest question of the day. And then lines waiting to check out extending back into the women's clothing section but only 3 registers open. I'm done. I'll pay more for Hy-Vee. read more

This is my go-to grocer and general goods store. The prices and selection are better than the bullseye, plus I don't catch as much snooty 'tude from the other customers. The store is always clean and I can usually find what I am looking for and, if not, I can usually track down and employee pretty easily to get me pointed in the right direction. My ideal time to go is weekday or weekend mornings before most other folks roll out of bed. The store is less busy and I can get in and out a lot faster than once the parking lot starts filling up. The best cashier in the store is an older gentleman named Ved. I've been in the store enough times to know that he is the class of the whole lot. I have even run into him at other stores in Maple Grove and he takes the time to say hello. He makes the experience all the better and I enjoy his presence. All in all, I think Walmart gets a bad rap that is not so well deserved. If you changed the signage to a bullseye, you'd probably hear people bragging about how great it is. I appreciate the fact that Walmart has not had a massive confidential information/credit card security breach, I know that much. read more

This has to be the most convoluted parking lot ever. There is no easy in or out to this place. I have come here about 6 times in the last 3 years and still haven't figured out the best way in or out. Tire center dude was very rude to me , I asked if I could get a battery installed and he said flat out no in a rude fast tone . Then he went on to say we already got 2 cars in and when we're done we're shutting the doors .. he didn't t have to have an attitude towards me . All I asked was if he could put one in . I didn't say I needed or demanded that I need one today . But he automatically assumed I needed it now . I've been standing in line for 45 min to return an item. There's only 1 person working the register and the line is 10 people deep. 2 managers have walked by and when asked for help the cashier was told no that they were replacing bags at the register and had no time to help. I frequently used the curbside pick up without any issues for almost a year. Then yesterday that changed in a big way. I ordered pickup on a Sunday to pickup Monday evening. I got a text that the order was late. I waited over an hour and no messages so I drove there and they said that they were short staffed and the order was not going to be ready that night and to come back anytime the next day. So I came back and I did get a text saying my order was ready. When I got there I called the curbside and they told me that my order was canceled and I would have to order all over again and come back tomorrow. I rarely write reviews that are bad, but my experience at the Walmart store on 2nd street south St. Cloud, MN today was so uncalled for that I am writing this. I went to purchase candles. I bought 7 candles that were clearly marked on the shelf $3.96. when I went through the self check out the candles rang up $4.56 each. I told the young girl working that the price was wrong. she told me it was not, that the price was correct. I said I will be right back and I went to the aisle and took a picture of the price, there were 2 entire shelves of this "Mainstay" type candles. When I returned to my check out there was another girl there and she still told me that the price was ringing up correctly, so I took her to the aisle and she saw that the price was indeed $3.96 each. she said you are right, but you should have took the picture differently! I said to her I am not going to argue with you about this, I would like to speak with a manager. She went off and I stood by the check out for quite some time. Then I finally went and found a manager myself. She then came back and he instructed her to ring in the correct price. She did so and then left. I paid cash and as I was getting my change from the til a message popped up on the til asking for a customer review and had the option of 5 different stars. before I could even push the star I wanted the young lady working came over the top of my arm and pushed the 5 star review! seriously! I told her that it is not her right to push my review and she said yes it is and proceeded to argue with me that she could push it if she wanted to! I tried to tell her that it was the customers place to push the stars and not the employee's. This is the main reason for my writing this review! I am sure the young lady didn't want the bad review while she was working, but they were beyond rude to me! Of the 5 WalMart stores I go to the most often, this is my second favorite. It's in a nice neighborhood, so I don't have to worry if my car will still be there when I'm done shopping. I think I have finally had enough of the Walmart in maple grove. The grocery shelves are consistently out of the most basic products I would select on my weekly trip to this store. All of the check lanes now seem to be self serve which is awful when you have to ring and set down every product even if you have 10 of the same items. They now want see yourrreceipt before you leave the building ala sams club. You would think that they realize that treating every customer with suspicion is not a good business practice. Appalling lack of training....Went to pick up pictures which should have been printed for quite a while, was told "nope, there's nothing there", followed by "well, there's no paper in the printer, so I have to change it. This will be a while, 'cause I haven't done this job in 3-4 years". After about 35 mins of me waiting and watching 2 female employees try and fail to change the printer paper, I left with no pictures. Oh, and there was no store manager to talk to. Came in at 11:40 p.m at Black Friday. Wanted to buy film for a camera and it wasn't stocked on the shelf. Instead it had a sticker that said it was in stock and to ask a store associate for details. Took them a half hour to realize they didn't have it. Organize your store, pay your workers better and get better managers. Walmart is a disgrace to our country and nothing but a let down. read more

Went in to have a tire replaced and they punctured my brake line and said there was nothing they could do to fix it. They said I would be reimbursed for the damage once I went to a shop and got it fixed but the reimbursement could take up to 3 months. Never go here for anything automotive, they will wreck your car. read more

This store is absolutely disgusting. It smells awful just walking in the door. The bathrooms are nasty. And the staff is rude. I always use the Wal Mart in Elk River because it's closer to my house, but today was in Maple Grove so stopped here to cash my check. They would not allow me to cash my check due to my out of state license although I had a piece of mail showing my name on my current address & the Elk River store has never given me a problem. I will never return to this location and I hope it burns down honestly. read more
