This Costco is very busy! Best to go during non peak times. The bakery did a wonderful job on my dad's cake I ordered and they followed my custom requests perfectly for the colors of the candles. CostCo sells a lot of variety, but it's a big box ; you can't get simple things for yourself so you're stuck with a situation... if you don't want to be catered to or given anything and like to do it yourself : it's great, you get a little more simplicity and a lot of room. - They sell about everything, and the opportunities vary if you can stick with the balance of a discount though some things aren't it's few : there are local or unique offerings at retail. Some things are in multiplicity compared to convenience, some are quantity - you pay a different price but it's not the same PERIOD ::: you don't get retail, you get Nothing ! I like it for unfinished things so I can do it myself, no store branding ; I make MINE - you can't just do it, it's pretty hard too. If you like do it yourself and want a lot, as well as don't care about retail juggle or compensation ; it's nice. Their style is office and business but they have great options that way, and there's a country feel. I hope all locations are like this only complaint the parking is not legal like it's pandemoneum for drivers, I'm not sure why that is. read more

What's not to love! We buy lots of our big items here like paper products, coffee, meats and of course dog toys. I am completely unable to resist the new packages of toys - the dogs are appreciative of my weakness. I've always had good customer service at this location and like the variety of products. One of the customer service people reminded "look at Costco first" and she's right, I've rented cars from them for a number of trips, found barns for friends, bought computers, clothing, food and more. Definitely worth the membership for our family and my photography business. read more

Good location. It's always busy! Maybe I just go at all the busiest times but I've never seen the parking lot not all the way full. The gas station is the same- id say on average you have to wait for 5-7 cars in each line before you get to the pump. Overall it's a regular Costco with good stuff. read more

I need to have a chat with whoever designed the layout of this Costco. Obviously, every Costco is amazing and a reflection of all that is good in America. But the flows of traffic are absolutely absurd. As you enter, you've got to cross traffic to get a cart, then cross traffic to get to the entrance, and as you exit, you have to cross traffic again to get to the liquor store. It's an absolute cluster and blows my mind that no one has come up with a correction. Please for all that is good in this world, figure out the traffic flow here. read more

I'm writing this review, however, because of Laresha and the customer service team at this location as a whole. I'm sorry I didn't catch the name of the older woman with the salt-and-pepper hair or the tall lady on the register beside Laresha, but they're all adorable. The team vibe really comes through in the ease of their interactions both with each other and with guests. Costco, I hope you know you've got a good thing there! I had the wonderful luck of primarily interacting with Laresha, who exudes a warm vibe that makes me want to sit down with her for a Costco hot dog and a chat. We shared a laugh over my first experience with dried figs and agreed that I should try at least one more brand before I stick to fresh figs for life, kept watch over how the sudden downpour affected foot traffic, chatted about how tropical downpours affect cultures abroad - you know you're having a great conversation when the topic keeps flowing from one to another. Thanks, Laresha, for being a lovely human being - Costco is lucky to have you. Why four stars then, despite the glowing review? Because Laresha and the customer service team deserves all the stars, but Costco handling of your own gift cards is appalling and deserves none. Costco management needs to either train cashiers to equally respect Costco gift card payments or do away with Costco gift cards entirely, and I don't mean simply at this location. The fact that there are Costco cashiers at many locations who don't know what to do with Costco gift cards is problematic, and half of those who do either continue to hassle the guest for a Costco membership card anyway, immediately change their demeanor and make the guest feel unwelcome, or call for assistance with an unnecessarily loud voice even by Costco standards in showing their annoyance. Families grow up and spread out in leaving their nests. Putting everyone's name on cards is unnecessary, and gift cards are an easy solution that Costco chose to offer. Why, then, are your own representatives making users of your gift cards feel so uncomfortable that you can find stories detailing this horrid treatment all over the internet? I love the Costco concept, but I stopped visiting Costco long ago as result of this mess. If Costco would prefer to fully exclude non-members, simple: Remove Costco gift cards entirely rather than subject human beings to shaming. If not, it is your responsibility at every level of Costco management at every location and corporate office to ensure that holders of your own gift cards are not treated as second-rate citizens. I enjoy a good deal and I really enjoy being creative. Costco hits these two passions, pow right in the kisser! "Creative how?", you ask? Well, being a household of only 1.5 I've got to be picky with what and how much I'm buying. I only have a tiny upright freezer so I have to figure out the best items to jam pack it with. Thankfully they have those taste test days so you can try before you buy. Otherwise I just stick to my certain staples. Plus the main reason I joined is for the gas prices! Worth it just for that. Worst experience at on their tire center. Made an appointment for 7:15 p.m. on 10/14/24 due to 3 nails in my tire. They didn't take my vehicle back until until 8:44...30 minutes after the warehouse closed. I had to hound them for information to understand if my tire could be repaired or if I need 1 tire or 2. I found out I needed 2 new tires and was told they would have them in 2 days. It is now 7 days later and I am still driving on a spare and not word on my tires! read more

Costco member for over 20 years. LOVE COSTCO (quality, prices, travel, etc). Moved to MN last year from CO and have consistently been surprised by the Maple Grove employees. Curt, brusk, openly irritable. Maybe 1 out of every 3 trips I hear a cashier bad mouth a colleague, family members or shopper to the person unloading the cart. I would be irritable, too, if I worked with the public--which is why I don't. First few visits I wrote off bad interactions to Covid fatigue. I tried the St. Louis Park Costco and didn't think it was much better. Now, I'm just taking a break. I'm not a 'frustrated child' like Steve H. accuses other reviewers of being. I arrived at the Maple Grove Costco Gas station at 7:30am today/Sunday morning to get gas (Since the gas station opens at 7:00am), but to my surprise and many others folks surprise, all the pumps were locked with pad locks and no one was around. I always try to go in the mornings in order to avoid the lines and when I am on my way to my destination for the day. Now if I want to fill up I will have to make a 2nd trip in and while it is busy. If you say you open at 7:00am, than honor your word and open at 7:00am please. Otherwise adjust your time online so customers have something to count on. read more

Simple as it gets, Costco Rocks! For those of you that haven't tried it, go! Costco is one of the best places to shop for weekly items around. I know that they are one of the "in" places lately but it's for good reason. They have good, above average products at very good prices. They get compared to Sam's Clubs all the time and they are very similar in design but I would say Costco is a higher quality affair. That is without getting in to the "Walmart - Evil Empire" thing. Costco does handle itself much better as a company. Anyways, try the meat dept. They have great meat, very good prices and a nice selection. You can get 4 tenderloin for less than you would buy 2 at Lunds and the quality is every bit as good. Try any of the Kirkland brand items. These are their brand name items that are made for them by major vendors. The Kirkland Vodka is fantastic and at a great price. The money we save on Milk and Gas bought here pays for my membership but I always find something worth going there for when we stroll through. I went to Costco last month and I had a cart full of items that o purchased. I had to go back in line because I had forgot a couple of items so I had 2 receipts. This lady at the door counted every item on the first receipt. The second receipt only had 3 items which she count very quickly but then asked for the larger receipt back stating she never counted the items but she marked the receipt but while she was doing that she let 15 customers go by with just glancing at their receipt. Today we went out and bought some fruits, among them were Red SEEDLESS grapes , but when we got home and try the grapes everyone of them had SEEDS, over and over , seeds. Being a parent, these could be choking hazard to young kids , especially when you're under the impression its seedless , yes i'm aware that they aren't 100% seedless , but when every one you cut open has big seeds there's a quality control issue here. Here is what you get: There are no EV charging stations (I drive an electric car, so don't benefit from the reduced gas prices offered). *You need to fish out your club card and flash it just to get in the door. Warehouse shopping experience, think Ikea's ground floor, but not as nice. Many of the products are sold in bulk quantity. No frills checkout, no bags provided...you can bring your own reusable ones (which I prefer to do, but for $60, I'd like the option to have bags if I forgot mine at home) *You need to fish out your card again so they can scan it at checkout too, by the way. There are "Built in" coupon savings, which is nice, I suppose. As you are exiting the store, an employee stops you at the door. Time to fish out the receipt you just threw in your purse. I watch as they look at my receipt, and then open my reusable bags to have a look. Again, I paid $60 for the privilege of shopping here. No thanks. Yes, some of the prices are good, but I don't think it makes up for the unpleasant shopping experience. I'll go to HyVee where they have EV charging stations, or Target where they have the option of bags if you forgot yours at home (and they give you a 5 cent credit for bringing reusable bags too), or Cub, where they don't charge you $60 to shop, Or Lunds/Byerly's if I'm feeling fancy and want someone to load my groceries in the car for me. No fishing around for a membership card multiple times during the shopping experience, or fussing with bags, or having someone inspect my receipt and poke through my bags before I can get out the door. Cosco, you are not my cup of tea. $60 upfront cost doesn't compensate for the merchandise savings and overall unpleasant shopping experience in my opinion. This rating is a reflection of the cafeteria staff, not the rest of the store. I enjoy shopping at Costco. Have for a long time. Over that time I have come to love their pizza. To the point where I generally order a large pizza every time I shop. It's an amazing deal on pretty good pizza. This Maple Grove Costco, however, does not seem to have the slightest clue on how to run the cafeteria portion of this store at all. If it takes 15 minutes for a pizza, which is sauced and rolled by a machine, to go through the automatic pizza ovens, why does it take 43 minutes to get a pizza? How is this even possible when you have a grand total of 3 menu items for pizza? How do you not have whole pizzas ready to grab and go? How do you have staff that calls out numbers for all other orders but somehow all of them forget to call out whole pizza order numbers? You have to ask multiple times. Then, after ALL of that, they get the order wrong.... HOW is it even possible to be that dysfunctional? read more

The staff is very nice and help you getting what you need. I went in on Sunday twice, and realized due to time constrain (6 pm closing) and weekend, this place is crowded way too much. I have been a member of Costco for many years and the staff are professional, informed, and never had a bad day shopping at any Costco.

Don't get me wrong, I love to save some $$$ on gas, but sometimes I will pay the extra dough just to avoid the complete idiocy of the people at the gas pumps here. For whatever reason, people can't seem to wrap their moron brains around having lanes on both sides of the pumps. I once saw a lady trying to pull a 75-point turn in the little narrow lane because she realized her gas cap was on the side opposite the pump! Can I get a collective facepalm?! Good grief, Charlie Brown. Just pay attention to your surroundings for 10 seconds for a change and you can see how it is done. And you don't have to wait 5 minutes for the car at the pump in front of you to leave before you do if you are already done getting gas. That is why the center lane exists, for crying out loud! Go around them! Geez, I get brain damage just typing about it. There seems to be about 10% (at best) of people who can pull up, pump gas, and leave without gumming up the works. These are my kind of people. Best time to go is when the store is closed. Less dummies around, less problems. The store itself has great prices overall and you can save yourself some serious coin if you can do basic math and compare to prices at Walmart/Target/Cub. Not everything is cheaper in bulk. I'm like the 7-year old me in a grocery store when they are running demos and giving out samples. Love it. The people are usually very outgoing and seem to be having a good time. Sometimes the lines are pretty long at the checkouts, but I have found most cashiers to be very quick and efficient. The lines get held up at times by the same folks who I imagine struggle out at the gas pumps. Squinting at the debit card readers and generally looking like they have no clue how they got to where they are standing. I wish I had a tip on how to avoid these buffoons, but they meander clumsily through life at all hours of the day. Overall, I like Costco enough to continue suffering the irritations of shopping there. 5-stars for the staff/store and 1-star for the gas pumps and the clowns that don't know how to use them, hence your overall 3-star rank. read more
