I'm not from Kalamazoo, but in the past. Items wore always missing, I''m sure it hasn't changed much, Battle Creek has the same problem but the right person made sure to check or investigate. Jackson, Michigan had similar issues, but whatever happened they investigated and took care of it. We are human sometimes we all including the workers, need to reach out and ask for help. I don't think I should review. But I really like Walmart and Sam's. It's just the younger generation have to grow up and become more educated and mature in communication skills. The customer service seems to only hire people who have attitudes and it shows on their face how much they don't want to be bothered. The Money Center!!! Ohh don't get me started about the Money Center! What's the point of having a Money Center if you open at 8am and close at 8pm, if you go there at 9am and they are STILL not open, or if you close at 8pm and you go there about 6:45pm or 7pm and they are closed. One thing for sure is not all Walmarts either, because if I drive 10 or 15 miles to the next city and go to that Walmart it's completely different. Worst delivery service ever! I have had small issues with Walmart delivery in the past. Yesterday there were 12 items missing! I tried to go through their online process to get these items delivered but it wasnt possible. I finally talked to a person who was in some foreign country whom I couldn't understand and they couldn't understand me. I finally understood that the items would not be delivered and it would take at least a week to reimburse me. These were not items they said were unavailable. I had given an $18 tip based on the total order and I was unable to cancel it. I can not use them again. read more

Ever since the new manager/management took over, I have become more and more disappointed with each visit. Yesterday the deli department was already closed around 4 pm, with only two small, sad little containers of beans in their hot case. There was no hot or cold rotisserie chicken, either. I have found that they reduced the number of grocery items they carry. As a result, I could not find some of my favorite items (Funyuns, boxed rice mixes, etc.) Their new return policy is way too extreme. Then there's this new, protective plastic piece on the shelves of the 2-liter soft drinks. Sprite happens to be on the top shelf. Because of this plastic piece, which is about 2 inches high, I was unable to pull the Sprite bottle upward, so I could remove it. I'm short, but not THAT short. Meijer might be more expensive, but with their loyalty program, I would rather go there than to this Walmart. read more

There haven't been hand baskets for months. They're not put out and they're definitely not all in use because I haven't seen someone walking around with one in months. Kind of annoying bc I'm in 2-3x a week and I never buy enough at a time to justify getting a cart. It's annoying and easily solvable. I walked in today between 2 and 3pm and the so called Greeter didn't say a word and looked like she was miserable. There were very few checkouts with cashiers. Apparently you have to do all the shopping and bag yourself now. I asked for a bag for a item and was told I would have to go to customer service for a plastic bag. Done with Walmart. read more

I walked around the store a couple of times and felt an increase in my knee pain (which I've recently developed, haven't been to this store since acquiring) each time I walked down the food isles. I walked in and was greeted by the dense putrid odor of marijuana. It was everywhere in the store. My visit was around 3:30pm on a week day. The store was in disarray, worse than how bad it was the last time I went. Many items were not labeled or priced. I could not find a worker to check on stock of an item I needed. When I got to the checkout, my cashier started scanning my items without having even said hello. She was too caught up in an argument she was having with a man that stood behind her within inches of her face. She regularly used the F*** word and the man did too. The first time she spoke to me was to tell me the total. She hurriedly prompted me through the payment I made with the card, telling me what buttons to push. She did put my bags in my cart, probably to rush me out and get back to what mattered to her. To top it all off, she and the man behind her, who didn't appear to have a badge or uniform on, REEKED of marijuana too. I was thoroughly disgusted with the smell and state of the store, the rude staff and swore from the moment I left I would never use Walmart again. The standard for service has dropped so far below the bar, there is no getting it back. There is a point businesses have to stop blaming COVID for everything. Customers should be treated with kindness and respect. Customers should not have to forage through opened and half-eaten packages of crackers and other foods to get what they need. I would give Walmart a ZERO if they had been fair enough to include it in the review form. read more

I ordered a cake for my husband's 25th birthday and sent in a photo for the bakers to make edible. I didn't realize I had picked a photo with the words "Hey Lauren" written in the top. (My husband's name is not Lauren, so keeping them wouldnt have worked. ) I called the store and told them my mistake. The girl I talked to was very kind and let me know it would result in a white patch on the cake. I said that was fine and I could probably write his name in the blank, later. Fast forward a week, I picked up the cake and to my suprise, someone had drew really cute pictures that went with theme on the cake, to fill in the white blank spot. I didn't ask anyone to fill that In and yet, one of the bakers did. It was very sweet of them for taking the time to hand draw out a design like that. read more

Do not ever go to 9th Street Walmart. It smells it's dirty they have no help. I walked in the women's bathroom and found people doing thing's that should be done at home in the bedroom. I have seen children being slapped by parents and berated. The police are always there. I find it to be an unsafe environment. I have had weed blown in my face as I walked in the door. In the electronics department, there was two long lines. I stood in line for 10 minutes for somebody else to walk up in the opposite line. The worker came from the back and pushed my cart back to help the lady from the other line. To say that was rude is an understatement, at least give me the respect and ask if it's ok. I just needed a cabinet unlocked... but wow that was too much to ask. Walmart is getting worse and worse, and I'm ready to pay more just for good customer service. Wally's... I must admit I shop here all the time. Ya just can't beat the prices and the selection. As a single father of two, I really have to shop here! I buy almost all my groceries here and most of my children's clothing and such. I feel that this store is generally ok. The two areas that are in desperate need of attention are: 1). The bottle/can return machines!!! Wow! What a train wreck. These machines are constantly either full or broken. There is ONE , count it, ONE bottle return machine. The rest are for cans only. Nothing I'd rather do than wait in line to return cans/bottles in a smelly dirty area because only one or two of the the machines are actually working. Often times there are shopping carts full of empty cans at the service desk because of this. Which brings me to item #2 on my list... 2). The "customer service" desk. Really? I rarely ever return anything but on the rare occasion that I do, it would be nice not to have to deal with an attendants crappy attitude. No I didn't steal the merchandise, and no I'm not attempting to scam the store, and no I'm not asking you to do anything that you weren't HIRED TO DO. If you hate your job and you hate people, FIND ANOTHER JOB. That said, the rest of the store is ok. Although I will mention that the electronics dept needs to pay attention to the tablet display once in a while. Half of the devices have never functioned. It would be nice to test drive a tablet before purchasing it only to find out that it's not what you expected, then have to return it and deal with the attitude at the "service" desk. What can you say about Wally World...it's one of those necessary evils in our "throw it away and buy another one" society. There isn't really a way to avoid being sucked into the vortex and taking advantage of the cheaper prices that the smaller local places simply can't compete with. I do my best to avoid Walmart unless I really have to go there. Avoid it like the plague.... Here is my round two with Walmart.... Unfortunately had round two with the Walmart on 9th Street yesterday. My daughter and I went into the store to finish purchasing some items she needed for Impact Camp this week. While in there we selected several things including a backpack very similar to a Military Alice Pack for purchase. Now mind you we walk up to register with an actual cashier and purchase everything we have in the cart no issue. As we are walking out of the store I am stopped by the greeter this time demanding to see my receipt and I oblige but for the first time ever it crossed my mind that perhaps I didn't have to be stopped and hassled about it but decided to be polite about the situation. So as I am standing there the guy starts grilling me about the backpack I purchased for my daughter while having the receipt in his handing demanding to know how much I paid for the backpack because clearly their own receipt was not up to his expectations. This is all going on as my 13 year old daughter is looking on. He also began to make comments about my purse and I was just waiting for him to ask to go through it and was going to politely decline at that point and ask to speak to management. Last night while still steaming about the whole situation I decided to google whether I have to be stopped and detained by a store greeter so he can fully inspect the receipt and never actually look into any of the plastic bags I had in my cart. I also wrote the Walmart Corporate office a fairly lengthly customer complaint last night and made sure I included the first incident I have had at that particular Walmart last September with the grown man dressed in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles PJ's creating a scene so they decide to stop the woman dressed in office apparel having just purchased 60.00 worth of paper products instead of dealing with the grown man dressed in teenage mutant ninja turtle pjs creating a large scene. Might I add they never responded to my email. I am at the point where I firmly believe that Walmart needs to be avoided like the plague.. read more

I purchased 2 rear tires for my jeep yesterday. They refused to mount and balance them stating that it is " their policy" not to mount tires on 4wheel drive unless you buy 4 tires". The woman then went on to say they WOULD mount and balance them if I removed them from my jeep and brought them in. Even after I repeatedly explained that I am now disabled and did not need front tires from them as I had good tires to have put on the front and that my jeep was very dangerous on slick roads with my current tires. She continued to refuse to mount my tires so I bought them and had them put them IN my jeep.They then charged me the price my sons friend paid for the same tires mounted and balanced! It was too late to have them mounted elsewhere. Today the roads are far too slick and snow covered to drive on safely with my old tires to have the new ones mounted. Here I should explain that I live near South Haven in the country. I have a crucial appt at Bronson 7 am tomorrow ,MONDAY, morning for 2 cat scans that I can not reschedule due to insurance red tape. If I end up in an accident because walmart is greedy and refused to mount my tires because I am on a fixed income and could not afford to buy 2 more tires I did not need to buy from them walmart will be responsible for my injures and damage to my jeep! Their Site To Store is really, really lacking. I ordered a razor for my husband for his birthday. When I picked it up, the packaging was ripped, torn and dirty. I said to the man and woman behind the desk that it was horrible Walmart would actually ship something so damaged. They told me it hadn't been shipped, they took it off the shelf in the store. I feel they were trying to push it off on me because of torn package. I said it was a gift, there was no way I could give it to my husband like that. So they grab a roll of packing tape and start taping it up. I said forget it, I didn't want it and the woman got mad at me. Acted like it was a huge problem for her to give me a refund. The prices are good but checkout at this store is awful. They allow long lines to form yet still don't open more lanes. And the cashiers they have are painfully slow and don't know how to properly bag items. Awful. I was in line for 18 minutes & was still 3rd in line! That is ridiculous. read more
