unpleasant and unprofessional incident that occurred at the Citi Trends store in Jacksonville,…read moreArkansas on Saturday, October 12, 2025, around 5:30 PM. While shopping in the store, I witnessed an employee yelling at a male customer in front of other shoppers. She was shouting, using profanity, and accusing him of "flirting" and causing his own bag to be taken. The man remained calm and told her he did not want to argue, stating, "You're a woman, I'm not fixing to argue with you." The employee then began loudly shouting that there was an "emergency" and ordered everyone to leave the store immediately, even though the man involved had already left the premises. Several customers, including myself, were confused and uncomfortable. I was in line to check out, but she refused to complete my purchase, rolled her eyes and neck, and spoke to me in a rude and dismissive manner. Another associate appeared frightened and apologized, stating that he had been told to escort me out. When I asked when the store would reopen, the employee said she didn't know and that she was "calling the police." I waited outside in my vehicle for quite some time as I still wanted to purchase the items I had selected (especially a shirt that was the last one in stock). When police arrived, I stayed back until they cleared the scene, but even after that, the employee continued being loud, unprofessional, and rude to customers attempting to enter. Because I live over an hour and a half away, I began calling the Jacksonville store to ask if my items could be placed in a bag with my name so I could return the next day to purchase them. Between 6:51 PM and 8:00 PM, I called the store 11 times at (501) 307-1492. Most calls were unanswered, and when she did pick up, she immediately hung up. Around 8:00 PM, she finally answered and told me her manager had instructed her not to reopen that night, but she could put my items aside for me to get the next day at noon. When I returned on Sunday, October 13, I spoke with the store manager, who was polite and professional. She informed me that the employee had not set my items aside and that the story I shared did not match what the employee had reported to her. The manager also confirmed she saw my phone number in the missed calls and acknowledged that the employee refused to answer them. The entire situation was embarrassing, disheartening, and unacceptable. As a regular Citi Trends customer who frequently shops at various locations, I was very disappointed by the way this employee represented the company and treated customers. Many people left upset that evening, and the store closed hours early without explanation to the public. I am bringing this to your attention because I believe this behavior needs to be addressed to ensure no other customers experience something similar. I would appreciate confirmation that this incident will be reviewed, and that appropriate corrective action or retraining will take place.
