I had the worst experience with Walmart today.... I was a weekly Walmart goer, but not after today!
I decided to try the free pickup since a friend told me that there were diapers on sale.... the cases of size 1 Pampers were $8.97 each. I heard they were trying to move them out to make room with the new PURE kind, or that it might be a price glitch, but tried it because Walmart usually honors prices even if they messed up.
Anyways, I ordered three cases of size 1's as well as several other items I needed. I set my time for 4-5 and waited.... I got no notifications at all, so I headed to Walmart she it said my order was ready! Parked and waited about 5 minutes, then got out when I saw the associate come out... she had one bag and was very kind and sincere, saying they were out of stock and couldn't honor that price because it was a glitch on Walmart.com.
I get on to look at my bank account for the refund, and there was nothing; in fact, there was an extra $20 charge for "editing my cart"! So now Walmart has charged me over $50 and I got $15.39 worth of products..... I came home and called the number the associate gave me for customer service and they told me they weren't honoring the prices and they couldn't do anything about the charges and it would be returned in 3-5 business days, but that I could call my bank to dispute the charges.
Called the bank and they take up to ten business days, so I filed the dispute but it does me no good right now! That's a lot of money to just hold for that long without doing anything to make up for it!
Called my Walmart and asked to speak to the manager... the associate I talked to was very rude and told me the manager was too busy. When she asked me what it was about, I told her, and she said that the manager doesn't handle that and she's transfer me to pickup. Got transferred to pickup and when I told them the situation, they said I needed to talk to the manager. Finally got the manager and he told me to come back to the store with all the products I did receive along with my receipt, and they would refund at customer service....So I loaded up the products and Dylan AGAIN and went back to Walmart AGAIN.
When I got to customer service, there were two associates behind the counter, one phone. One guy was on the phone and the girl just stood there watching him, so nobody helped me for several minutes. When they finally did, they acted like I was stupid and said they wouldn't do anything because Walmart.com already refunded me and that I'd just have to wait "like the rest who order online."
I'm sorry, but when it is your problem as a company and the customer did nothing wrong, you should NOT be allowed to keep their money for a week, and you definitely shouldn't be allowed to charge extra money on top of what they originally owed! If something happens like a "glitch in the system" then you should do everything in your power to make it up to your customers! Just being polite and apologizing for the inconvenience would have helped.... but the store did nothing. This was a manager problem, because some stores were giving one case per customer at that price, or were giving gift cards to those inconvenienced. Not only did I not get any diapers or gift cards, but they treated me like it was my fault and nobody apologized or admitted fault other than "it was a website error". I am beyond furious and so done with Walmart. From now on, anything that Aldi's doesn't have, I will go to Meijer or Kroger. read more
