I found this Walmart a great place to pick up Road Trip supplies while in El Centro. I even found a stuffed crocodile that I've been searching for for years. If I could change one thing about this store, I'd have them teach all employees on the floor to be fluent in American English. Several times I asked employees to show me where I could find an item. They had absolutely no clue as to what I was talking about. One in particular said, "I dont speak English, my friend." In perfect English but couldn't answer my question. This location was stocked with just about anything you'd need or want on a Road Trip. The place was clean and well stocked. I felt $25.00 for the large stuffed crocodile was an excellent price in today's economy. The woman that checked me out was great. She was kind caring helpful friendly and checked me out quickly and accurately. She was very welcoming with a positive attitude. She made an already great shopping trip even better. read more

I've been shopping at El Centro's Walmart since the old one before this supercenter, and I've never really had problems. The employees help me when I ask and never bother me at all with forced greetings like at Aldi's. Only problem I have is that they don't sell as many health items as they used to 10 years ago. They slowly stopped selling products I wanted. For that, I only shop once or twice a month at this store. I should be blaming the other customers, though, since a business will sell what the majority wants. read more

I didn't know this Wal-Mart was here for the longest time. It's in the back of the city. It's ok. Nothing to write home about, it's sort of clean, it's sort of stocked. No one was particularly mean or nice. It's just ok. That said, I did find the one item I needed. So that's a plus. read more

The Walmart Supercenter is on Waterman a bit hidden behind Costco. It is large and by itself in a large lot. The parking lot is huge and you may want to remember which lane you parked or be like many people-wandering around clicking your key to see if a horn blows or a light flashes. Don't ask me how I know this. The store is set up like most other supercenters. It is clean with a deli & grocery on one end and pharmacy/home goods on the other. I'm not a big fan of Walmart (lowering quality of things for a cheap price) but in this small town, you go different places to find different things. Hubs was looking for a certain pressure washer that allowed soap to be added and I was looking for a couple items not found at my grocery store. The deli is very clean, hot food like chicken bites (tasty) real hot and deli meat & cheese with salads look clean and neat. I've seen a manager type come around with a thermometer checking-which made me feel good. The produce is good quality with lots of variety but won't stock bean sprouts (?) or the usual veggies & fruit-although they do not stock the more unusual shishito peppers (nor had they heard of them when I asked). The food looks fresh-which is nice. They stocked ripe pomegranates which is great because they are the ripe & tasty ones-which was awesome! We also found a small soft topped coffee table with storage which can also serve as a seat. It's hard when you live in an RV to find something that is small & light enough to fit. We looked everywhere but this worked and I can use it as a foot stool too. While my husband did not find the pressure washer there- he found the perfect one at Pep Boys. Their customer service is terrible. I had an order set for delivery and only half the order was sent. Tried calling multiple times on different lines, including the main line, and phone just rang and rang. The following day, tried again, and it took multiple attempts again. This happened on multiple occasions, but not as many things were usually missing. After things like this happen, most companies will at least offer a credit or some money back. No such attempt. The trash cans were overflowing with so much trash! The toilets had poop and period stains! And there was USED toilet paper and toilet seat covers scattered all over the restroom stalls! It was utterly disgusting! The restrooms in general looked like they have NOT been cleaned in ages! I can only imagine how the mens restroom looks! I completely regretted going in there. read more

Avoid this place during the peak holiday weekends if possible. Also avoid going during the first of the month. Best hours to go are in the early morning or you'll get trampled on or run into people who just stand in the middle of the aisle. Too bad you can't play bumper carts without consequences. I try not to go here because the check out wait is insane!!! I would rather go down the street to target and pay alittle bit higher prices for less emotional stress I receive from going to this walmart. Plus there are no hand baskets so everyone has a cart and likes to take there precious time in the middle of the isle, so it only adds to the time and frustration of going here. Why are there 30 lanes and only 5 open? And why do self checkouts that clearly read "15 items only" have people who have 50 items in them? Worst experience in a store in my life. I found a bloody bandaid attached to my cereal box I realized what it was while holding the box walking to check out and I felt the mid part and sticky ends of the bandaid it was shocking traumatic and disgusting. I spoke to manager Angelica Coronado and I was treated with complete disrespect and she tossed complaint papers at me. She even accused me of planting the bandaid there myself and raised here voice numerous times. What happened to customer service? I myself am a manager of a store and if a similar situation had occurred in my store I would have done everything I could to make my customer happy and try to resolve the issues in a peaceful manner. Things got even worse because later I would get a phone call from a friend who's wife used to work at Wal Mart and they said that they were being interrogated and harassed with questions on who I was and there relation to me and attempts to get information on me. Complete invasion of privacy and illegal at that harassing a prior employee of theirs. Also Angelica refused to see pictures of the bandaid and the staff member responsible for the in store camera footage Angelica had told him to not accept the photos and that insurance will get in touch with me. To make matters even worse all I asked for was an apology from Angelica for the awful way she treated me and went about everything and the main store manager Angel said she refused to apologize and Angel himself did nothing to make the situation any better. He can't even control his own staff lower than him. And he took no responsibility himself to make this situation better. Absolutely horrible. I asked numerous Wal Mart staff about their managers and not a single worker had anything good to say about their own bosses. They had nothing but horrible things to say. What an unorganized depressing place to work. They just lost all my business and my family's as well. Imagine the diseases on that band aid you'd think a store of that magnitude would have handled this situation differently. Extremely disappointed. read more

We waited in the cashout line for over half an hour. Not one manned cashier was available, only self checkout and those lineups were extremely long. Finally one cashier opened and people jumped the line. Unbelievable bad experience. Brawley store much, much better. read more

Maybe management should notify employees of social distancing regulations. I have observed that employees that come into the aisles, either to place or remove an item do not wait until customer moves. They approach and stand right by customer without a word. The majority of the checkout lanes are closed . The ones with cashiers have 5 or 6 people with full carts. There is a cashier but 1 for 4 registers. Such a busy store. Always packed and customer service isn't very nice. It's nearly impossible to run in and run out. Check out is a joke try opening more check outs instead of having your employees standing around pretending to do something. Insane wait times at check out even the self check is a joke. I'm a mother of two young boys and had to bring them with me to shop today. I bring my own bags because I believe it's a waste to continue to pay for those thick plastic bags. The cashier never offered to help me bag my items so while trying to watch my children and pay for groceries I was also required to bag all 10 bags of my groceries while the cashier just stood there watching. I have also noticed that over the last year your cashiers are extremely slow and unfriendly. With long lines there needs to be a sense of urgency when helping customers, but instead they look unhappy and disgruntled. I appreciate the low prices and cleanliness of your store otherwise I would give it a 1 star for the service. read more
