The recent remodel has made this Walmart look great. The store is clean, organized, and feels much nicer than it used to. Unfortunately, the customer service was disappointing. I asked multiple employees for assistance, and aside from one associate in Apparel who was genuinely helpful, no one seemed interested in helping us find what we needed or offering another solution. Checkout was also frustrating. The card reader wouldn't accept our card, which has happened to us more than once at this location, so we ended up having to pay with cash. The store itself is a big improvement. I just hope the customer service and checkout experience eventually match it, because those are the things people remember most. read more

Stephen, who I believe is a shift lead, was not only entirely unhelpful (waited 10+ minutes for him to help open a locked case) but when we stood and waited for him to help, he was rude and told us to go wait in the section with the glass case. This place is great! They let you fight if you want and you can spit on the floor. In the restroom, pee anywhere, and they don't care. I ripped the urinal off the wall, and the bathroom attendant laughed. He watched me the whole time, and I felt safe. Buying stuff is optional, and I like that. There's no pushy salesman telling you that you must buy. I held a pack of socks for an hour and then put them back in automotive. No sweat. The worst thing about this place is the fried taco cheese burgers and the manager named Sully who WILL remind you they are closing soon. read more

I have been unable to get any "operator" there to come to the phone to handle my complaint of overcharges on an order I picked up instore on 8-28-25. I was charged on my credit card for two items of pet food that I most assuredly did not buy or leave the store with. I don't own any pets. Frustratingly, I have been unable to talk to anybody there despite multiple calls yesterday and today. It is very inconvenient, not to mention unjust to expect me at 83 years old to drive 5 miles to this store to ask for a refund that so easily could be resolved over the phone--especially when the error is Walmart's, not my own. read more

Nice newer Walmart definitely one of the busiest Walmarts unless you go when they first open at 6am. Usually clean and stocked well first thing in the morning. One thing I miss is them being open 24/7 since I'm a night shift worker but I have a feeling they won't be going back to 24/7 ever, oh well.. I'll just head on over to Winco, lol. Walmart texted last night at 8:40 pm and said groceries are ready. I live 20 miles away and couldn't come back in until next day. Wish I could leave a zero rating. This is a prime example of why Winco is so full all the time when they are directly across the street from this Walmart. So today I went to Walmart to get ink and copy paper, and I knew before going in I knew there would be issues. However, Winco don't have ink and copy paper so I had to stop in at Walmart God forbid. Sure enough I go back and found three employees back there one on the cash register, and two adding apps to their cell phone. I ask the person at the register if I could get help getting in for my printer, so she hollers to one of the girls playing with their phone and says Juanita, please help this man needing ink for his printer and I walked over to show Juanita the type I wanted and looked up and Juanita wasn't with me, I looked around and she was just walking through the opening going to break. What? I wish I could say this surprised me but I WAS IN WALMART. It seems they have forgotten Customer Service principles altogether. So angrily I head up front to see if someone in authority could help me, and they said oh we have staff back there who can help you just look for someone with a Walmart vest. Now I can see why the employees wouldn't help, their leader passes the buck as well. Leaders should lead from the front. Walmart, as soon as competition shows up you will go out of business, look at the dent Winco has put in your grocery sales. I will never go back, you have gotten too big for your britches. Stay away from this store. Stood in line (approx 10 mins) for self checkout behind a long line that led us into the produce isle only to be told once I made my way to the front that the machines did not give cash back. So I had to move to a new line. Now I've stood another 33 minutes behind four other carts with what seems like there's no concern for the numerous people waiting forever trying to check out. I had 4 items and it took me about 45 minutes to check out!! read more

Bathrooms are unsanitary and they must think that it is a joke to put a sign up to help keep their bathroom clean by doing what they did, water all over the place, trash all over the place, stall having no place to hang your dress coat or jacket, screws all in the walls. There is always long lines because they only open the self check out and maaaybe 1-2 other lanes even though there's way more than that. Why? Where's my employee discount, if no one helps me when I can't find something, and then I also check myself out? Oh also, WOMEN BEWARE - I was in the women's bras section and this man came up behind me and rubbed himself against my backside. I immediately walked away to the other side of the store and HE FOLLOWED ME so I left. This was not a Walmart employee but a civilian. BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS this is not the safest area. I think it would be helpful if Walmart employees had training on how to spot potential human traffickers. I've heard way too many stories of people (especially females and mothers with children) being followed by strangers in big stores like Walmart. read more

When this location was first built, I was relieved as I hated the parking lot from hell at the one on 288. Since this location is newer, it's also larger than the other ones in town. The parking lot is pretty large, but the layout of the store isn't really big enough for two carts in the same aisle. It comes across as a very cramped store. Unfortunately, the staff isn't well trained or super friendly. Every time I've been here, it's because I have no choice but to come here and I am needing a specific item. On more than one occasion, over the past several years, I have been sent all over this gigantic store by multiple employees who can't really help me. It's always fun when you are sent to the places you had searched already. I can think of three instances where this has happened in the last five visits. This place is too enormous for the employees to be able to provide you with good service. It's not really their fault that they are being set up for failure and left on their own. If you only need a couple of things, I suggest entering and leaving through the garden center. It's a lot less crowded and they can ring you out over there. If you must shop at a Walmart, I suggest the neighborhood market location on Teasley. That one is more organized, the parking lot is roomier, they have a fuel center and their employees are friendlier on a consistent basis. If you must shop at a supercenter... good luck. I hate to be negative, but the truth is I avoid both of the supercenters when at all possible. Short of an unusual item I'm trying to get a good deal on or getting oil from the automotive center, you will not find me at either of the supercenters in town. If I'm being honest, I probably go to a Walmart a handful of times in an entire year tops, including road trips and other towns. That very well may nullify my opinion to avid Walmart shoppers, but it's the truth. There are plenty of other places to do shopping in Denton, and many offer great deals and service. Those places tend to treat their employees better too, and you can tell. read more

Terrible place, smells like piss water everytime I come here. Can never find a employee when I need help. And when I do I've seen a group of them vaping on the floor. This Walmart never has what I need always out of stock on multiple items. The self checkout lines are horrendously long and take forever. When checking out if you don't out your food in the bag after you scanned it immediately, it says "possible item miss scan" and you have to wait for a employee to come and enter a code so you can continue. Half the time no one's even watching the self checkout. If I didn't have morals I would simply walk out of this Walmart with a cart full so I wouldn't have to be in the god awful facility for longer. read more

horrible! ok only 2 checkers, long line, ok but the checker had the blinking light on for assistance, very, very slow response from Managers up front! not only once but several times! when I said something about needing a quicker response time, she said the customer had a problem with something! no that was not the problem! it was her VERY slow response time. This is second time I've had issue with online grocery pick up at this Walmart.First issue took 2 hours to get groceries. Today my girlfriend waited 2 and half hours and still never got groceries. While she was waiting I called customer care who couldn't get anyone to answer phone at Walmart. So I called for another 30 minutes.Called pick up no answer.Called for an associate, rang and rang.They did answer once to put me hold ,then to just hear muffled talking.So now I'm stuck with a processing order and still never said my order was ready. I don't usually review large chains, but there's a NEW Walmart Supercenter in town, and we should roll out the controversy and the welcome mat right? This one is just like all the rest... but with a nice facade; with workers that all seem to be younger (college age), friendly, and helpful; and it's neat and clean... we'll see how long they can keep up with all that. Since when have I gone so low to even think about reviewing Walmart? To answer my own question, every time I find myself needing to go to Walmart, I always try to avoid the Walmart on the loop and head to this Walmart instead! This Walmart has been opened for close to 10 months and it still feels so new and clean! Best of all, I don't feel the "ghettoness" when I come here to shop. Plus people working here are friendlier and do not look like a clown (you know, the lady that applies rainbow color eyeshadow on her eyelids or the person that looks like he just got out of a cave). Always crowded, day or night. It doesn't help that they don't offer small baskets -- everyone has to use a large shopping cart regardless of what they're planning on purchasing. However, I usually have to make tax-exempt purchases, and the staff is all very privy to this process. I appreciate the efficiency. Sunday, July 26 I visited the Denton Walmart twice with about 2 hours in between; 11 am & 1 pm. It is a law that everyone in buildings where a mask. I was appalled to see that the 2 women posted at the exit doors had their masks pulled BELOW their noses. When I told them they should pull up their masks, one responded, "Yes ma'am, " as if that was all that was needed. Neither pulled up their masks. I saw 2 cashiers with their masks below their chins. Several other employees also had their masks below their noses. I also saw a few customers without masks at all yet their was a store employee at the store entrance - doing what I do not know since he allowed people into the store without masks. We looked for a few basic items and they were out. They had spots for it, they were just out of it. Well...i do not go here UNLESS I absolutely need something last minute and late at night....with a 60% chance they most likely are out of it. This Walmart always looks bare, half of the products are gone from the shelf and when you inquire about when they will have more, or when the next truck is in...you get a bewildered look from any of the employees. Then they just shrug and walk away. (Ex: I asked why there was a tiny almost non-existant spot for cotton balls, why this store only had two empty box area for some, where-as the one in Hickory Creek had a wall of cotton balls, q-tips etc.- they said they didn't know, and would only put it in that area.) If a store dose not see that a product sells, they should supply more, it's a profit- you don't have to follow a "plan-o-gram" to an exact T. This Walmart is also laid out completely different compare to the other hundreds in the metroplex, which can be confusing if you need to get in and out quickly. Coffee, in the back, not the isle next to condiments. Lastly, the lines....put more self checkouts in, or more people working cash registers, it's asinine. Not to mention, the 10+ cashiers I have checked out with, only two knew how to scan a coupon. The rest ended up calling a manager to help them scan, even after I told them to scan a certain part, they said they would still call. So do not go here unless you are okay with half of the items you go in for. Drive to another Walmart, or target for that matter. read more

I wish I could give this Wal Mart zero stars. This Wal Mart hemorrhages problems and it can only be attributed to an apathetic store manager or management team. I have never in my life seen a group of employees who all have the same poor attitude and low expectations. All one has to do is ask an employee at this location a question. You get a dumb look; a grunt; a hand gesture point in a direction; or a confused look. I talked to a cashier last night and he was actually quite different than other employees, in that he knew how to communicate. He told me that he and other employees at this location are chatagorized as part time when they actually work very close to full time hours. In our very brief conversation, it was eye opening. I am not a Wal mart fan at all but this one is by far the worst I have ever seen. I go here only in emergencies and it a quick, in and out trip. read more

The store is clean and organized although they seem to run out of products often. I know this happens a lot in a college town especially during certain times of the year. It seems like they could keep that from happening. We receive WIC benefits and have never been able to shop at this Walmart without having some sort of issue. Either the cashier doesn't know how to process the transaction or the register isn't working with the card. It is incredibly frustrating for us and for the people waiting in line behind us. Especially when it is busy and there are not enough registers open. read more
