Negatives: prices have increased, I had one small incident with a greeter when I was in a hurry and she grabbed my reciept ripping it. Other than that the greeters are generally really nice. I hate that that there are not a lot cashiers manning a register, and I hate that they run out of bags more often then they should. You would think they would post a sign at the door so you don't fill a cart without bags and have to leave. Positives: Good hours, they have what I need, they have a pharmacy, it is a clean Walmart, products are nicely displayed unlike Walmarts in larger cities. Staff are generally pleasant, and they have a lot of self check out's making a quick run to the store quick and convenient. I asked, a short girl with black hair and an overbite, for help unlocking a locked away item and instead of offering to call someone over she decided to let me know that, that isn't her job and to go wait at the electronic desk. The spray nozzle over the organic produce has been leaking on the veggies for months. Today I brought home a bag of radishes and a two pack of green bell peppers, to find there was water inside the packages of both. Not to mention a little bit of ice, as well. So, neither the radishes or the bell peppers are edible. The store does not have anyone picking up the "store operator" phone, and there was no way to leave a message for the store manager. So, I am handling the publicly. Just plain awful care of the produce under that leaky spritzer, and no availability of customer service, unless I get back in my car, drive over and stand in line to make my complaint. I would rather buy my produce somewhere else. The management does not have anyone on staff who would notice that this is a problem in the produce dept.? They have to stock that shelf frequently and no one has noticed that area is a soggy mess? or no one cares. read more

Walmart pharmacy saves the day. I usually use CVS . But in recent months they have closed several times sometimes due to shortages in pharmacists. I had to pick up medication for my adult autistic son . When I called to see if it was ready I found out the store was closed. CVS expects you to drive to Mckinleyville ( 71 miles and 1 hour and 25 minutes away) if their crescent city location is closed. So I called safeway ( they did not have the med) , Rite aid ( they didn't even pick up the phone) Walgreens ( on lunch and then the phone tree to get a human being was ridiculous). So I called Walmart. Mike answered, looked up his stock . Told me he could cover what I needed. Helped me get my prescriptions transferred as I called the doctors offices too. And knew me when I stepped up to the counter . Lucky checked me out . Mike then proceeded to let me know something the medication should be taken with food that was never mentioned by CVS or my sons doctor . Lucky checked me out . I like the store, good prices, staff are friendly. Not enough cashier lines. They can have 5-6 people at the service desk area and only one cashier. They operate mainly with self checkout. Produce not so good, I go to Safey or any other store locally for produce. The pharmacy is the worst experience with prescriptions I have ever had. You wait on phone, wait in line, meds are never ready when they say, they don't get transfers right, they don't follow up with requests to the doctor's office, make mistakes and ask for wrong co-pays (not entering the right insurance info). I have putting up with this for 6 months and I am FINISHED with them, and will never go back to their pharmacy, ever!!!!!!!!! read more

After the 30+ minute drive, I Did not see that the entrance on the side I wanted was closed, just that there were placed for disabled drivers to park After walking across the parking lot, and wishing I had my oxygen, I asked the door guy to move a stanching 6 inches to save me more walking until I had a cart to lean on. The vigor with which he shook his head no was insulting! He could have said he couldn't do it, wasn't allowed to, or all kinds of things, and I would have stepped over and leaned against a wall to catch my breath. I have COPD, and. Was masked. Walmart Pharmacy (Crescent City, CA.) Alex Kim, Walmart Pharmacist, truly helped me out today! Thank you so very much Alex Kim! I have been bed-ridden lately and it was all I could do to contact my doctor in order to renew a prescription. By the time my doctor called in my prescription to the pharmacy it was late in the afternoon. When I got to the pharmacy, it was busier than I have ever seen it!! One of the pharmacy assistants told me that I could Not get my prescription until tomorrow; as they were so busy and backed up with customers. All I did was look at Alex Kim, emphatically, and HE MADE SURE THAT I GOT MY PRESCRIPTION!!! I THINK THAT WAS SO AWESOME OF ALEX KIM!!! He didn't have to help me but he did!!! This store is gross. I did not want to touch anything. Glass cases were broken, missing handles, rusted shelves and racks, floors were sticky, produce on the floor, cereal boxes on the floor, can goods on the floor, shelves in disarray and broken, workers with dirty clothes, no one stocking shelves, produce not stacked, just to name a few. 8-6-17 Went to Wal-Mart to pick up one item located at the far end of the store.   When i pulled into The parking lot i parked nearest The door of the item i wanted. Those doors were locked. I walked past many transients smoking who knows what?! I tried the next middle section door, they were locked! I got back in my car up and drove to the main doors. As i walked the full length of the store to retrieve my one item that i went for i noticed they were using 4 electric carts to block the self check isles. Way too care for our elderly and crippled. I found 2 registers open with 10 customers in each line, heaping carts. Might i add the cashiers seemed to be on a Sunday drive. I couldn't find a manager to ask about the shortage of checkout stands. 2-3 registers seem to be the only ones that ever open anytime of the day. Why have 17 plus registers if your only going to use 2?! When I walked out of the store I could not use the exit door because it would not work. I had to leave out the entrance. The store sign says you can get one of each item. So I got one sanitizer for me that was vegan free and one for my brother that was not. The lady Shelly tried to explain there was one per household. That doesn't make sense when it comes down to toilet paper and paper towels it says one item per household that's what I did I had two different brands two different things. It's Walmart so you know you can't expect much. But I recently visited the Walmart in Grants Pass and it made me realize how much the one in CC sucks. It just doesn't have any of the good stuff. Half of the self checkout lines are always closed, and half of the remaining ones take cash and the other's only take credit. Which isn't an issue for me, but it creates a lot of confusion when standing in line. The produce sucks and I've (unknowingly) bought moldy bread from them a couple of times. They recently locked up all their hard liquor and you have to press a call button for someone to come unlock it for you. Half the time they don't show up to get it so I give up and go someplace else. For the most part the employees are really friendly, so at least there's that. Man, I would kill for a Target in this town!!! read more

I went on a date last year with a boy who lived in Oregon. I lived in Northern California, so to compromise we met in Crescent City (aka Crusty Sh&tty & Crescent Trailer, to the locals). We spent the day wandering around the single tourist shop, dodging seagulls, and sharing random facts about the tsunami that almost wiped out this town in the sixties. At the end of the day, as the sun was setting, we were walking along the beach. Even though the water was teeth-chattering cold, we rolled up our jeans and walked along the shore. Since he was shorter than me, and I was hoping for a kiss, I instantly pulled my patented "leg move" where I bend one of my knees to look a little shorter. But as I bent my knee, the strong undercurrent swept my feet out from under me and pulled me under the water. I emerged SOAKED and with seaweed in my hair-- Think Swamp Thing, not Brooke Shields in Blue Lagoon. To make me feel better, my date dunked himself in the freezing Pacific waters. Keep in mind, we're talking ocean on the Oregon border in January... Given we were both soaked and had to drive ourselves home soon, we hopped in his car and drove to Wal-Mart. We entered the store, and as we headed to the unisex sweatpants section (yep, they have their own section here) we left trails of goo behind us. Like giant ocean-dwelling snails. We purchased some very attractive high-waisted, high-water sweatpants, while puddles pooled at our feet in front of the cash register. But, no one looked at us twice. Why? Because we fit in here. Our hair was messed up, we had black stuff in our teeth, and we looked half-crazy. In fact, we resembled a poster they should show high-school students with the caption, "stay in school, don't do drugs." Hopefully we can all learn something from the Crescent City Wal-Mart. I have a dream that one day, we will not be judged by the cleanliness of our person or the color of our food stamps. Do your part to fight the war on trailer-ism. WARNING To whom it may concern: About a month ago I found myself in crescent city for the evening. Upon waking up to the sound of a meth addict trying to break into the hotel room next to mine I couldn't go back to sleep. So I got up at 5am and decided to go in the walmart. I stumbled around the store half asleep until I made my purchase. They had obviously seen much worse. As I was leaving I noticed a small splotch on the ground witch had the color and consistency of fecal matter. Only it was flat with the impression of a foot print. From there someone had obviously tracked it across the store. Ewwwwwww! I decided to leave immediately. In a brisk B-line for the entrance but only to come across another small pile then another and another! A trail leading all the way back to the main event. Sitting right in the entrance was the main event. The largest pile of human excrement I had ever had the misfortune to lock eyes with. I couldn't believe it! Right next to the fruits and vegetables and all the food items! What one person can create such a mess? I asked myself. People were walking right over it without knowing they were tracking it throughout the store! The smell was getting much stronger now. The senior walmart greeters were smiling a little perverted smile and kind of laughing as this all was happening. I couldn't believe it! They were not shutting down the entrance or stopping people from making contact. The flow of customers and stores profit was more important than safety of everyone. For shame! This is Crescent City folks! It is a small town in a remote area and it is lucky to have such a large Walmart. I was surprised when it came to Crescent City. I don't live in Crescent City, but visit a few days each month. I usually go to the Walmart here at least once, sometimes more when I am visiting and don't have any problems. The store seems huge for Crescent City, but I usually find what I am looking for and use the self check out, and get out of the store pretty quickly. So no complaints here, it works for me. Maybe my expectations just aren't that high, or my timing is good, so as not to run into the problems described by others. read more

One of the best things about Walmart is that most allow travelers to use their parking lot as an overnight rest stop. My family and I have traveled the United States and used this as a safe rest area. In return we always did some shopping and sometimes a lot. It is a wonderful trade off between travelers and Walmart. Not this Walmart. While they used to be one of the many reliable rest areas when traveling, they no longer are. They have even put up signs forbidding the use of the overnight parking and that violators will be towed. While quick to take your money they are not gracious to travelers... read more

We visit the Crescent City / Klamath area every year and always visit this Walmart at least twice during our stay. They always have what we are looking for from fresh fruits and vegetables to meats. We also pick up our personal hygiene items from toothpaste to deodorant. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Wish I could say the same for our local Walmart! I went to the wal mart in grants pass and it let me know just how bad the wal mart in crescent city is. Fist grants pass wal marts shelves are full and neat, Creacent city wal mart shelves are empty and messy, second you can find employees at the grants pass wal mart and they are eager to help, crescent city no employees in site except the ones shopping for customers online and they will not help you find anything, grants pass self checkout you can use cash or card with no problem, crescent city wal mart you can only use cards very annoying, the pharmacy in crescent city dose not have enough help so hours are cut they close for lunch and closed on the weekend now. Crescent city wal mart is the worst wal mart I have been in and they could care less because they know you have no other options. This is the Christmas season and they have so little items it is rediculus. They want you to shop local but it is getting to where you have to go out of town to shop. read more

My family and I were staying at a beach rental and so groceries had to be purchased, so off to Wal-Mart I went. I don't have high expectations for Wal-Mart but this location is awful. There was almost zero produce. Literally empty bins! The produce that was there was old and even moldy. There was items all over the place- they are obviously under staffed or the staff aren't working. Crescent City is obviously a depressed area but it doesn't even seem like anyone is trying.
