Asked Grocery Pickup if something was going on and we were told "No" this is the norm. We had a couple things we had to pick up but felt so unsafe that we decided to go to yet another Walmart in order to get these items rather than leave the safety of our car at this Walmart. The only reason this is not a 1 star is that the grocery pickup was very easy, they had all the products in stock, and everything was ready at the scheduled pick up time....this saved the rating from being the worst. read more

Took my car here to the auto center to get a simple oil change on Feb 16 a week later exactly my engine blew on my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2018 I took it to the dealer to get a diagnostic to find out what was the cause And it was due to lack of oil in engine How does oil disappear in one week? If you go to any Walmart sites you see just negative reviews. I wish this was different, but it starts from the top. If management doesn't care about the stores or its customers it shows. Especially at this one, the moment I got in to do some shopping. I got racially profiled, I was not dress down or anything. I had slacks and my Newface Sweater On. I had to mention the brand, because I was not saying I was not underdress. Anyway this security guard that they hired me followed me halfway though the store. I turned around and ask him what he wanted. He said I'm just checking on this exit. I asked is that why you follow me? He started to make a joke about if I wored a wig and had some you know what? This is not the first time, another time I came in to get a birthday cake then they pointed to me come here I need to check you. The other times management would get on the Walkie and other supervisors around him would stared at what I have in my hands. This is an okay Walmart. At least they carry yarn , fabric and a decent Craft section, unlike the one on Amarillo Boulevard. I came in here for a few items the other day and I found just about everything I was looking for except for one hard to find item. When I needed help from clerks I was able to find them and they were mostly helpful. The restroom wasn't perfect but it wasn't too bad. I came here off and on my last trip because I stayed on the east side of town. This time I'm on the west side of town so I go to the one on Coulter more often but I had to be over at this end of town yesterday. I needed a couple things so I popped in here again. read more

We had went and bought items we went to self check out the total came out to be over 180$ we put 200$ in and the machine broke down we asked for assistance and a worker was going to customer assistance to give us our change and NO ONE came they stole 20$ from us. Right when we were leaving many other self checkout machines broke down and many people got money stolen from them too. read more

We were traveling through Amarillo this past October and wanted to get spray paint for our visit to Cadillac Ranch. We picked this Walmart because it was close to the interstate...and as a Northern California resident whose Walmarts are overcrowded, under stocked, and nearly every item except for food is locked up to prevent theft, I must say that this was the most beautiful Walmart I've ever seen. While driving across country we got a flat tire. Spent the night at a hotel and went to Walmart auto center as soon as it opened. We have a 2015 GMC Acadia and thought they would have our tire in stock because it's a common vehicle. Luckily they had the tire due to someone not picking up a special order. Shirley was so helpful and sweet. She knew what she was talking about. They said they could change our tire in 30 min and they did just that with the help of Ryan! My only real complaint would be the phone staff not knowing what time the auto center opened on Sunday. We called the night before and they said 10. We called the next morning and they said 9. A correct time would be helpful considering we are driving across country and don't have all the time in the world. read more

The auto center stinks on ice! When I took my car in for an oil change & fuel injector cleaner my brakes worked. When they were through with it, they managed to trip the check valve that stopped my brakes from working! I had to go to Meineke (who diagnosed walmarts screw up). Then BUY a new hose w/check valve and have it installed at MY cost. Walmart sucks! On the same trip I visited the hair salon. Told Ernestino exactly how I wanted my hair done. When she made the first cut I was when I realized she had no idea what she was doing and it was already too late. Im gonna start paying a little more for oil changes and haircuts. read more

So as I was making my purchase I opted to get cash back on my debit transaction. I asked the kid if I could get three dollars in quarters as a portion of my cash so I could use it at the laundry machines in my motel. He didn't have enough so he asked the manager for assistance. This "lady" manager waddled over, bluntly scolds me and tells me they don't have enough to spare. Honestly, Walmart probably has more quarters in their safe than the combined businesses in the entire town of Amarillo. They probably have a back room where they just frolic and slosh around in a mound of quarters. But no, times are tough, "sorry Johnny, don't have a dime". The truth is this maggot was too lazy to go to the safe and grab him a ten dollar roll in quarters, so she instead decides to try and embarrass me and act like my request was outlandish. This Walmart location has saved me twice. As I've traveled through Albuquerque, I've had automotive issues twice. Both times, this Walmart was able to quickly take care of my issues and speed me on my way. Today, Martin and Willie in the automotive department took care of my vehicle quickly and efficiently and were awesome! I appreciate their friendliness and professionalism while they handled my issues quickly. It was closing time but they were more interested in taking care of me than going home on time. I came in to this location and bought a few items so I could get cash back specifically to exchange it for a roll of quarters so I could pay the tolls in Oklahoma to get home. I asked the self service cashier and she told me no, I asked the lady who came out from the back of customer service and she said no and I was asking do you know where I can get a roll my dad is sick in the hospital and I have to get home and she just walked away and said no no no no. New managers. And it shows that they don't care! The variety of products offered for each group is very limited. They definitely push their choices on you. Trucks are no longer allowed to be parked on proper while trucker shops. There's no legal place to park nearby. The bathrooms are always filthy and poorly stocked. The locks on stalls are always broken. This location used to be super friendly and helpful. It used to be one of the better stores. I won't shop here anymore!! read more

My husband and I travel all over the United States. This is absolutely the worst, slowest Walmart we have ever been to. All of the checkout lanes (and not many were open) had five to eight full carts waiting in line. We waited over 20 minutes and it wasn't until we were paying that they opened more registers. We were on a roadtrip in a rental car and our low tire light kept coming on. It was Sunday, and we had trouble finding any auto shops that were open so we could figure out where the air leak was and get it patched, and we knew if we let it sit overnight in the hotel parking lot it would be flat by morning. We found the Walmart, and pulled up to the automotive department about 5 minutes before closing. Tommy ended up staying almost an hour past the end of his shift to help us. As it turned out, the hole was in an unpatchable spot so he had to replace the tire. When we said it was a rental, he wrapped the bad tire in plastic so our luggage wouldn't get dirty, tossed it in the back of the jeep and saw to it that we got a receipt so we could be reimbursed by the rental company later. And he did all of this with a smile and a friendly, professional attitude. I'm no fan of Walmart in general but I am glad they were open on Sunday...five stars for Tommy! read more

I am from ILLINOIS! I recently was issued a new debit card number and used it for the first time to purchase a small swimming pool at "Wal-mart" .com. I received my confirmation via text and went and picked up the pool site-to-store but not before showing the confirmation number and my I.D. Much to my surprise I had two other purchases for play station (IV)s. This site-to-store was from your store at 3700 interstate 40 East in Amarillo, TX. Thank God I don't keep a large balance in my checking account. One play station was picked up at store evidently with no ID card needed. The second purchased play station was cancelled due to insufficient funds in checking to cover it. I don't run with credit cards so now that the card has been cancelled I know it has stopped. I am 54-years old and know this can possibly happen again since I shop Wal-Mart a lot and do site-to-store pick ups. This is a review sent to inform the store to increase security when internet shoppers come to pick up items from your store.
